***** who told you that "japanese steel was utter shit"? you probably don't know anything about MNV or NVNC. they had impressive tensile strength and they where very cheap. the only problem is that japanese factory that could produce VH was limited due to its small factory. the only one could produce it is one in kure and one in yokohama (there was 3~4 more but i forgot) although america had problem with air of bubble inside of their armor (this is what happens when steel cools down too fast where it traps air which makes it more fragile) the STS armor is the best armor in WW2 (its my opinion though.) not that it had an extreme tensile strength but how cheap and reliable the STS was. i think because of the STS the american won the war. japanese armor isn't superior, but the armor isn't shit. its actually pretty impressive.
and the mark 7 won't penetrate a 420 mm of NVNC lol, unless its plunging fire or firing within 7k yards.

I'm being sarcastic. The Yamato was struck by 12 torpedoes, the first four did not affect her fighting ability, all flooding was under control. The 24 bomb hits destroyed many of her pumping stations used for counter flooding and as a result the other 8 torpedoes were fatal. The Yamato had a design flaw, and that was the longitudinal bulkhead that separated the ship down the middle prevented good counter flooding if the damage became too extensive from under water damage. The Yamato should not be underestimated, and if she hits first and knocks out the Iowa's radar or steering than under that scenario the Iowa would be in trouble.
The Yamato's sister, the mighty Musashi, was a much better ship, and it took 19 torpedoes and 14 bomb hits to bring her down.The third Yamato class ship was the Shinano ,converted into an aircraft carrier. She was torpedoed and sunk by the U.S.S Archerfish.The four torpedoes that sank Shinano,were only able to do their job because Shinano was not yet complete on the inside with many of her water tight doors lacking gaskets, and her new and untried crew did not know their ship well enough to be very effective. Still, the ship took 4 hours to sink! She was huge! (70,000 TONS)!

I've done some research on the Yamato's fabled main battery AA shell, and the best way to imagine what it was like is to imagine a really, really massive dragon's breath shotshell going off. Unfortunately, it was really bad for the bore of the guns due to defective driving bands(a ring of copper or brass that sealed against the bore) .

about the same,just more accurate but much lighter.There was an improved version of the gun that never went to sea.
Tameka Burkes agreed, but 3 additional shells to throw at the enemy makes a pretty big difference in accuracy, but for raw fire power the Yamato surpasses the Montana.

Cyaliq Would be awesome but not good for Aircraft Carriers. Battleships knocking Torpedo planes and Dive Bombers out of the sky from far range wouldn't be fair for them. I would love Type 3 shells for Burning Love though :)

Cyaliq actualy yes you can have them the type 3 shells in real life were not actualy effective in both that damaged the gun that is firing it and disrupting the aa guns mounted to the ships ontop of the fact that round itself was bad at fending off a wave of attaking aircraft. while it might be shown to be good in kantai they were terrible.
Type 3 shells were experimental, and they actually destroyed the gun barrels they were fired from. Kansas collection is fantasy, like the republican actually being a good plane and Taihou being a good carrier
+Gew r Taihou was supposed to be good. Crew experince doesn't matter with the ship's stats, low luck stand for her unlucky torpedo receive and awful design doesn't neglect the overall resources put in to build it.

You can get to Montana for free, not a dime spent. However, the work required is much more than with money. In my opinion, you don't need to spend money until North Carolina.
You can buy/maintain premium, which will help with experience (and repair bills once you hit Tier VIII+)
At USS Iowa, you can buy the "Type 20 - Iowa" Camouflage, which increases experience gained on that ship by 100%. I have this camo, it was worth it. It was about 4000 Doubloons (or 20 ish dollars).

+4% to maximum dispersion of shells fired by the enemy attacking your ship.

It's a one time purchase, and you get to resuuply for free. I think the actual price for it is $16, but it effectively cuts the time from Iowa to Montana in half, and more or less turns it into a premium ship for less than half of the price of say... the Atlanta.
It's totally worth it if you compare it to other things.
If your gonna play this a lot and you really like it then using money will make your life so many ch easier

I like to tell stories, so... my Great-Grandfather was an electrical engineer and he developed a way for the American battleships to become more efficient with turret rotation that was instituted before Midway.
But that's a story for another day.
Going up the middle on that last game was truly comedy... dark comedy to the poor schnook in the cruiser who greeted you on the other side. ;)

Haven't done much research on the montana but if it is using basically the same 16in guns the Iowa had then it would have a bit better AP. The Iowa was the first BB I believe designed around the 16in Mark 8 gun and super heavy AP round. Montana inherited them iirc. The iowa was originally supposed to use the Mark 7 which was lighter but had the same AP as the Yamato 18in but was given the mark 8s at some point I think before they were finished. The north Carolina and south Dakota were 'backwards compatible' with this round but would have diminished range due to the turrets having shorter barrels (not sure?). I haven't read these facts in a long time so I may be wrong but that's just what I remember.

24:35 Seriously, the ballistic arc of these guns is just retarded. They go up about 45 degrees and then basicly head STRAIGHT, before suddenly going 45 degrees down when close to where you aimed at... that's how a guided missile behaves, not an artillery shell! For shame, devs...

The reason why ships dont have anti-aircraft yet is because World of Tanks, World of Warplanes, and World of Warships arent intergrated yet. From what I've heard eventually they're all suppose to be all in one, so that people can drive tanks, fly planes, and sail ships all on the same game/server one day... then again I could be wrong.... but that would be cool.
about the main gun shockwave - there is a interesting story about testing this on musashi with some poor guinea pigs in cages....guess what happened to them

Hey phly i was wandering do you know if World of warships is planning to add environmental damage. For example a destroyer hides behind an iceberg and you see it. But instead of attacking the ship you attack the top of the berg and the resulting ice crashes onto the destroyer and you get points.
the iowa class did have 1-4x 40mm bofors in the nose and 2-4x40mm bofors on the rear of the ship.
Only way this ship is better is that if someone is not shooting at it , but if it's shot , it's like paper , on the first game you saw what happened , yama owned ur hp in just a single shot (salvo) , the only thing better is ur speed and additional gun , but in damage yama still the best , and it depends on the player , th enemy you faced there is kina crappy , it seemed to be they don't know what they're doing which makes it easier
when the yamatos main armament was fired, nobody could stay outside, not even on the citadell structure in the middle. the japanese tested this with caged guinipigs which desintegrated. they did not put aa armament infront of the main turrets because the blast would also totally destroy the aa guns and the "tubs" where they where usually sited in.

That is the dilemma of Warships. The only tier X ship i truly want is the Montana. But then you have to spend half a lifetime floating around in dumpsters until you reach her.

Best battleship? Probably, cuz the montana is meant to be built for anti-yamato purpose. Even though the cannons are smaller than the yamatos (406mm vs 460mm), the shells on the are greater with accuracy and range. Im glad that WG did an effort to the game. Some predicted that only the paper ship super yamato with 510 mm guns can stand a chance against montana. Well, its just a prediction as none of them are built

No thanks, I'll stick with my Yamato. Bigger guns that can pen anything straight through the bow at close range. And in turn, nothing can pen it through the front, except another yamato. Only thing she comes up short on is AA. Her speed is a little slow compared to the Montana and The Grosse Kurfurst, but her speed is still adequate.

I have a question here. I was play the South Carolina in a battle, fired AP shells at the enemy South Carolina. I got no citadel hits but deducted 13,028 hp out of that BB. How is this possible?

Dude, whoever says Montana is the "best" battleship has obviously never played it. The ship is terrible, many even chose to play Iowa than bother with the Monatana. At least Iowa is cheaper to repair.

Too be fair, Yamato and Iowa never actually engaged in WWII. They were close, but Yamato turned tail and left.
The Yamato was sunk after 12 confirmed torpedo hits (the pilots say more, but they couldn't confirm.) It took like 3 hours to sink her, and she was sunk by US carriers, not by a battleship.

Does this game Cause the Blue Screen of Death? or is it my video card or computer in general? My video card got leaked on by my CPU water cooler so I replaced the Card and still get the Blue Screen and only played this game around the time. Don't know if games could cause Blue screen or not.
