    So I learned to drive in Minnesota lived there for years, the best thing I learned was to downshift to slow down it keeps you from breaking as much. As soon as you jam on the breaks the anti locks going to hit and ur spinning. Be careful everyone!!

    That was some terrible driving advice. If you don't have experience in this weather, don't drive. This is Texas, it won't last that long.

    You got our Polar Vortex from Canada. We have the sunshine, but it was -50 with wind. I feel for you. Be safe.

    This southern boy just moved to Waco after 8 years in ne Pennsylvania.
    These temps are nothing to me but can be deadly if you haven’t experienced them before.

      Thank you!! Really upset me when people say oh well this is nothing like Minnesota etc etc.. your absloutly right we are used to it, prepare, have tons of resources to handle the winters. This is not a state that is used to this type of weather, cut people a break.

      Well, this is blizzard weather to us native Texans. This cause for a mandatory stay at home order and everything to be shut down. Lol. But.. I can’t wait for you to experience our summers 😁. My advice, enjoy this “nothing” winter. You will wish for it come June.

    The winter storm is so far south, it is snowing in San Carlos Mexico. This is really bad.

      I was in Waco Friday and HEB had a line...as in outside the store...people waiting outside for people to leave the store to get in...went to another HEB and it was just as bad..long long lines...no carts in the front...hunted down a cart in parking lot..glad I did get some grocery shopping done, regardless...

    I lived in Colorado in the 1990s so I have experience driving on icy, snowy roads.
    #1 don't drive unless it's an emergency.
    #2 wait for snowplows to clear roads
    #3 drive alot slower than speed limit

      Here In Texas I doubt our state invests in snow plows since it never really snows here.

      @@supermananimationsstudios8519 That's true .Ive lived in Texas since 2000 and in all that time can only recall 2 Other occasions when it snowed where I live more than an inch. Even then it quickly melted off the day after

    Where are tarrent county snow plows? When are they going to start cleaning of snow and ice, treatment of this highway is important. Why are we spending 10 million a year on highway treatment if it does not work, irresponsible county and city spending

    the Roads in Dallas are snowy and icy and the government is telling me to stay home or I might die. But this is infringing on my FREEDOM and we need to keep the economy OPEN. I will drive the speed limit on untreated overpasses because I REFUSE to live in fear

      Definitely. Some parts of Canada NEVER get this cold, believe it or not! Check the temperature in Kindakun Rocks, Canada right now!

      @@shrshk7 Like I said. Some places in Canada have all time record low temperatures in the mid 20s (I am not sure about Kindakun Rocks?). Whereas Dallas is forecast to get down to near zero a couple of times just this week!

      Yes but they also have a ton of resources to handle this. I lived in Minnesota most my life, but we had plows every hours, going through night and morning. You prepare when u deal with 4 to 6 months of winter. In Texas you don't need to prepare as much or if any. So everyone that compares this to states that are used to long heavy winters, knock it off. We all get it you are better then the people who are not used to this.
