That's wrong. There's absolutely a very distinctive difference. The crop sensor lenses have a smaller image circle. Yes, you can use EF-S and RF-S lenses on a a full frame R camera, but the cameras go into crop mode and no longer use the full sensor and megapixels.
@@gerrya2133 You are missing my point, I said they are smaller lens, but you can use full-frame lenses on a crop sensor camera, you aren't limited to "crop sensor" lenses.
Great, the video that I needed! I am a canon user and I am in the step where I am reading a lot about the new Canon Cameras. Due there are no much options about the available lenses, your video helped me. Congrats for the great content. Simple and informative, as should be.
You are doing a good job talking about gear and tech! I am almost changing from sony to canon🙈I did really enjoy your vlogs tho… So I hope there will be a «vlogstyle» tech video every now and then😉
I've had the RP for a couple of years, My lenses are the RF 50mm f/1.8, RF 24-105 f/4-7.1, RF 100-400mm f/5.6-8 and a Tamron 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EF mount w/adapter. I also have the Fotodiox Pro 35mm Auto Macro Tube. I recently purchased the R10 and have to say that all my lenses work extremely well on it. In many cases, better than on my RP. I'm looking at getting the RF 16mm but it will be primarily for Milky Way shots on the RP. The Tamron is the oddball, as far as balance and handling. If I'm not after birds, I tend to have the 24-105 mounted on the R10. It makes for a great, lightweight, economical combo that you can carry around all day.
Finding the setup that works for you is key 😊 You might have totally different needs then someone else, so as long as you’re happy with what you got you’re golden 😊👏🏻
I want to buy r7 as my first camera but i still dont sure about my choice because my budget is limited , and what about a kit lens? Should i buy it or no ? is 35 mm or 50 mm rf better ? or just buying adabter with ef lens ?
Now you can get the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 for the RF-S mount, so depending on what you’re going to use the camera for, thats the all around lens I would recommend 😊
@@RogerAVHansen Owning the Canon R10 with the RF 50mm 1.8 lens, which other prime lens would be your pick on order to get the most versatile combo? Hello Master: Please help and give me some advice, The camera I am currently using is Canon EOS R10, The kit lens used with it is (RF-S18-150mm f/3.5-6.3 IS STM) My main subject matter is toy photography. The secondary shooting content is street photography or portrait photos. Now I want to buy new lenses, after watching your video, Want to compare between Canon RF 50mm f/1.8 STM and RF85mm F2 Macro IS STM After making a choice, I would like to ask you to give me some advice on which lens is more suitable for me? Thank you.🙏
It is a little difficult question to answer, but in my opinion, depending on how you take photos of toys, the 85mm f2 would be great for that. With the 85mm f2 you also have macro capabilities, so you’re able to get really close. But for street photography the 85mm will be a little limited in my opinion. For street photography the 50mm f/1.8 will be more suitable. But if it was me, I would go for the 35mm f/1.8 for street photography. I think that’s a more practical focal length for that type of photography. Hope this was an answer to your question 😊
hello.. hope you can help me.. i want to buy canon r10 for upgrading... and i have my sigma 35mm art dg are they compatible to used? do i need to buy adapter ?.. pls hope can answer me.. very big help.. thanks
I'm not a professional photographer. I own a Canon M50, which is lovely, but I want to upgrade to the Canon R7 for it's IBIS, Animal Eye detect, Larger Battery etc... will it be a smart upgrade? considering that for a hobbyist, cellphone cameras may soon beat the R7 in a couple of years. Kindly advise. Thanks in advance.
If IBIS is important to you the R7 is a nice choice. But I would advise you to look at the new full frame R8 also before deciding. And yes, it’s a good upgrade compared to smartphones, and I don’t think smartphones will compete with “real” cameras in a couple of years.. interchangeable lenses and big sensors will beat smartphones for several years to come 😊
Cellphone cameras will beat actual cameras??????? Brother I am currently using a sony a58, which is a 10 year old entry level camera... It still beats any smartphone camera, I doubt smartphone cameras will ever beat actual cameras
Wow, definitely going to wait a year or two before going with the R cameras. I have a suite of EF-M that didn’t cost all that much. I hope there will be similar small and affordable RF-S eventually, but IMHO it’s half-baked right now.
Yeah, the RF-S lens lineup is not that impressive at the moment.. they have put out decent cameras with cropped sensors, specially the R7, so why they don’t follow up with the lenses I don’t know.
@@RogerAVHansen I'll be optimistic and figure they will, eventually. At _that_ point, maybe I'll be ready for something other than my M6ii (or it will be broken by then). I'm in no hurry but I don't get the market strategy. You'd go nuts thinking too much about how camera companies think, tho.
Greit video :D Was looking for R7 for indoor sports. Got R6 and might get a 2nd (used) instead + RF 70-200 f/2.8 (use Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 G1 on 1DX - heavy setup shooting long days).
Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 is great, but it’s a heavy and old EF lens so you need an adapter for that. If you want to go native RF mount I would suggest RF16mm f/2.8 or the more expensive 15-35 f/2.8.. it all depends on your budget 😊
Could You please check how is sharpness of 35mm 1.8 rf lens on Canon R7 sensor? Other RUclipsr did comparison with this lens and it was much sharper on the R6. I’m not sure if resolution of full frame lens doesn’t match R7’s 32mpix resolution or it was something like shake from shutter on R7🤔

Really informative video (especially for us new R7/R10 users!). May I suggest something? The quality of your videos is top-notch, they're informative and the image quality and the color grading are aesthetically pleasing. However, I almost didn't click your last two videos when I was searching for R10 videos because of the thumbnails. I feel like they're not doing the videos justice. They feel somewhat cheap compared to the video itself. So that's just something I observed and might be valuable to you. I really liked the thumbnail of your "BUDGET EF to RF adapter for Canon R7 and R10 - with built in VND filter" video though. As far as video ideas, if you already got SD cards of different speeds (UHS-I, UHS-II) lying around, you could compare them in terms of video (is 4k 60 possible at all?) and burst shooting capabilities with the new R7 and R10.
You totally right, I do need to make better thumbnails ☺️ It’s not my strongest side, and the thumbnail is just something I put together when I’m uploading the video 😄 But they say that the thumbnail is very important, and I agree.. I need to focus more on it 😊 Your idea for a video is something I have been thinking about, and I will probably do that soon ☺️ Appreciate that you took the time to click on my videos even if the thumbnail wasn’t that inviting 😊 And thank you for commenting ☺️
