    With V30 being so much cheaper, that is pretty cool :) Nice job.

    Man, thank you, it really helped me a lot, i save hundreds of dollars in cards. Fun fanct is that according to canon statistics you can't use v30 cards for 4K 60 or 4k fine(30 fps) on R7. Again, thank's a lot!

    The V30 card will probably fail for you with the Canon R7.
    I mostly film in 4K PAL 50 fps with IPB(Light) on my R7 and uses the Sandisk Extreme PRO 128GB V30 card.
    It works most of the time. But sometimes it fails, and the camera says that the write speed on the card is to slow.
    You never know when it fails. Sometimes it can film for an hour without failing. Sometimes just 2 minutes before it fails.
    It's very irritating when it happens, so I am ordering some V60 cards.
    I have two cards, it is the same result with both.

      Interesting! Glad you put it out here for others to know also. The safest is to go USH-II V60 or V90, and you also future proof if you ever get a newer camera, cause every new camera will use USH-II SD cards.

      I did a video shoot job a few weeks ago with my brand new Canon R7. Knowing that media is what it comes down to and with zero room for failure, I brought along three, 128Gb UHS-II V90 cards and before I left, I grabbed a 64Gb UHS-II V60 card as a deep back up. I also brought along a 2TB San Disc SSD to transfer the cards to in case I needed more card space. I ended up using all 4 cards for that shoot. I didn't want to format them until I was absolutely sure all the files were backed up and transferred to the editor in Capetown, SA.
      Using a UHS-I V30 card was never even a thought.
      I use 32, 64 and 128Gb UHS-I V30 cards for my Sound Devices 664 mixer/recorder all the time with no issues, but .WAV files are SOOOOOOOOOO much smaller and less dense than the 4K Fine, 50FPS, Standard IPB files I was shooting for that job.
      When it really matters and there are no "Do Overs," just don't mess around with the V30 cards.

      This is about what I find with the R10 on maximum settings (NTSC), too. V30 works for a period of time, but, eventually fails. The recording times shown in the video weren't long enough to show the problem. I think what's happening is the camera is filling its internal buffer, and, only failing when that buffer is full. I've read that there may be some connection with how full the card is vs. how long before failure (more full cards failing faster) but I haven't experimented with this myself.

    Thank you very much! My local camera shop tried to sell me a V90 after I told then I shoot landscape stills and video my daughter's field hockey games. I don't care about burst speeds and your video convinced me that I don't need expensive top of the line cards. Reliability and capacity is more important to me.

Now on r10 the Red light at back is still blinking, so its mean that it is busy? Also i am not able use camera as webcam. M50 no problem r10 is not working and all display is blinking from Black background with symbol of plug in computer to what i see throw lens... Is this only thing of card? I thought that it is Fast card when i was purchasing it 😔

    Can you recommend a wide angle lens for r10 to shoot music video?

    • @RogerAVHansen
      @RogerAVHansen  Год назад +1

      For music video you probably need a wide aperture lens, depends on how wide angle you need but the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8 is a great lens.. maybe Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8? You will need an adapter for both of these lenses though..

    Hi Roger. Brilliant video. I just bought r10 camera and confused if I should go with v30 or v60 card. Purpose is wildlife photography and videos as well. Will v60 make sense or go with v30? I am getting Lexar Professional 1667x 64GB SDXC UHS-II/U3 Card. Is this good or some other brand? Thinking of buying two of these. Pls help me clear my confusion

    • @RogerAVHansen
      @RogerAVHansen  Год назад +1

      Hi! You will make due with a V30 cards, but if you can afford it I would go with V60 cards. V30 cards is USH-I cards, V60 is UHS-II. V60 will be faster than V30, and if you shoot wildlife faster speeds will be a benefit 😊

      @@teetee5687 It depends on what you’re going to photograph.. if it’s sports and fast moving subjects where you fill up the buffer quickly I would suggest getting the fastest card available. But if you’re doing landscapes and such V60 is more than enough 😊
