  • It is surreal and bittersweet; this is Jim Kovaleski's final video at his previously owned Urban Farm in New Port Richey, FL. We will truly miss having Jim in Florida and the amazing memories and videos filmed at Freedom House Farm. Tanner takes the torch and will continue on with the dream and legacy paved by Jim Kovaleski. We will miss you!!

      The north country is blessed to have Jim here!
      I wish Pete would come up occasionally so Jim could teach us how best to garden here.
      I came back home from Florida a few years ago, still haven't quite got the gardening down - wish I had had more time with my gardening elders back in the day.
      Jim has the same wisdom they had, very few people still do.

    Got choked up a little. Been watching you and Jim for years. Like saying goodbye to a very very close friend that moving away and don’t know when we’ll see eachother again. Time flies.     It has been such a blessing that Jim chose to share a bit of his journey with us. Very few gardeners are so in tune with the earth and her needs, he is beyond a master gardener, and an extraordinary human.
    I'm selfishly gutted that this is the last video of Jim in Florida, desperately hoping that there might be a future video from Maine. 🥹🙏🥲

    Is he still planning on growing in ME? I'm going to miss the non-row planting. We use a tractor, so everything is in rows, but there is something magical about non straight lines and inter plantings in a veggie garden that I envy. Great last shot in the truck. Good luck to Tanner. I never know whether to encourage young folks to go into farming, or run the other way.

    Pete, thanks for sharing Jim's knowledge with all of us! I have a small SHADY lot in an HOA community, so it has been challenging growing food. BUT I started helping at the middle school across from my home with the Future farmers of America program. We have planted a few fruit trees, improved a pollinator bed, yucca, sweet potatoes and even have watermelon growing this summer. Thanks for being so encouraging!

      Oh, that would be a dream come true! But creating and maintaining a RUclips channel is a lot of frustrating technical work. Jim is a man of the earth, and walks a very different path.
