Low tier tanks in War Thunder are often limited to APHE rounds that aren't very good at getting through armor. The Swedish Strv m/41 S-I premium light tank gets around this by slinging APDS or sabot rounds, which will go through just about anything.

The APDS at 1.0 makes low tier Sweden so fun. Then you get to 3.3 and realize there is absolutely nothing in the tech tree until you hit 5.0
They need to add all the German and soviet ww2 stuff to them then it will be good

but then you get to 5.0 and realise there is nothing until 7.7-8.0
1.7 is so fun too
theres a great lineup with the finnish pz 4 and t34, its a great lineup. add one of the swedish TDs and you have a very capable lineup

To be fair it's way more common in beginner tiers than in higher ones, on some tanks you can take full ammo load and use it as makeshift add-on armor (tho it can still be detonated, just way lower chances of that happening)

Yesterday, a leak list came out that had what was called the Panzer6B on it, and I know what it is. It's the Tiger II P that Sweden got post-WWII for evaluation on how to make their Army better.
If that list is true, Sweden will have it's first heavy tank in the game.

Like look at the Kranwagan, it has full blueprints made but gaijin didn't add it....yet they have tanks like ostwind/wirblwind, the funny pancake russian tank, Ho ri production/prototype and a lot of other stuff that didn't exist but still added. I'm starting to think gaijin really doens't want to give Sweden a heavy tank

Also vehicle suggestion for a future video: RakJPz 2 (HOT), it's very gremliny with 20 ATGM's with 700mm of penetration and can easily shoot tanks while fully behind cover

is it weird i find low-mid tier France to be my comfort tree? their heavy tanks are such a meme, their truck with the 40mm is fun, and ARL is basically a French KV1
I have a theory that solid shots work better if you shoot at the most armored part, because they produce the most spall which wrecks and kills anything.... i remember firing a 17 pdr at the most armored part of the KV1, and it died in 2 hits
The armor on the ARL is just thick enough to give you false hope of not being penetrated. It is a heavy tank in name only.

11:33 The reason that detonated the ammorack was either previous damage (which can happen to M4s when the shell pens but then has basically no energy left so the ammo eats it and the shrapnel, causing it to turn yellow/orange/red) or from RNG which is more likely. That ammo was on the other side of the tank so not much of the shrapnel got to it. Usually it requires the shell and the shrapnel from the armor to hit the ammo to kill it like with the Bofors Crusader at 15:13
day 116 : you should try the jagdtiger sometime. it's extremly slow, doesn't have a turret, gets uptiers all the time, and most importantly, you'll have to play with german teams. the very definition of suffering.

Another thing that makes APDS OP at low tier is the velocity of the round. A lot of distances require manual range finding. But APDS usually has half the bullet drop.
Fun fact: you can kill things like the kv2 and T-44 in the strv m/1 s-1
If you hit the back of the turret on the T-44 you can explode its ammo, and if you aim perfectly you can take out all of the kv-2 crew

A friend absolutely loves low tier sweden and often brings them to higher tiers as a meme and actually manages to perform ok. I've seen him kill centurions and one shot centauros with APHE, I've also seen him snipe planes off the air with the sabot. It's a stupid bunch of vehicles at such a low br and think it would be very fun to see you attempt the nuke thing with these.

@shahramtondkarmobarakie1824 Russia gets all the heat because they have so much stuff that basically doesn't exist in the game. Such as tanks with features they don't actually have. They also have gotten almost every gap filled while other nations don't.
Though also Sweden doesn't get as much as they don't have the playerbase like the Big 3 have. Which some of their vehicles are ludicrously powerful while others are just sad. It's a 50/50 gamble

That one round where you mentioned how a puma was spotting a lot but not killing, i wonder if that was me. Last weekend or so i had a task to get spotting assists so for a few games I'd sit back in a light tank spamming V on the enemy.

Nice to see this vehicle. I used to request the S-II variant back in the day when I played it. Like the Strv 103A it doesn't matter much that it's regular APDS because the fire rate is so good.

3:07 One of the reasons there's so many inconsistencies in the damage models, visuals, etc between tanks is that every single vehicle in the game is modelled, textured, hitboxed, and rigged by outsourced solo freelancers. Gaijin obviously wants the submitted vehicles to conform to certain standards but overall they don't seem to care too much about consistency.

The softhead ammo is bascially arrows at low tier. It's amazing, the damage is lackluster but the amount of pen makes all of it guaranteed

Here is a challenge: Use the BMP3 but only HE , the round is good enough to overpressure tanks in 9.0, you have lasefinder and fast reload, the only downside is the slow speed of the round.
The Turán I does infact has better armor than a Tiger I, thats why the germans had to give us Tigers to use since we were too op with the Turán(s)

I'm a low tier and I used to play Sweden until like 3.0 I think, at those tiers the APDS started to feel very underpowered. Could very well be skill issue on my part, but I kept getting a lot of non-pens, especially against T-34s and the KV tanks. You are too good man

Ohh this is my most favourite low tier tank it combines my most favourite early ww2 chec tank with a gun which shreds wish they made more conversions of them the 4.0 one is also great.

2:15 I think you might be able to kill tanks by ramming into them with an airplane in Simulator Battles, but that game mode is a whole another can of worms in many ways, since friendly fire is enabled for everything and not having 3rd person view can actually be quite scary as well.

I’ve been playing this tank along with having the L62 in my lineup and it’s quite an enjoyable experience also while I know you hate planes I have the buffalo and J20 in my lineup and I mainly use them to take down enemy planes

You should do a video on the Type 90 or 10. In game they're kinda just there but irl they serve a cool purpose I think. Most 90s being too heavy for anywhere but Hokkaido and the 10s to take the lighter, less traversable areas.

You should play IS-2 1944. Its a bit overtiered at 6.7 but its still a lot of fun so give it a try!

This was the first tan I EVER used in war thunder. It has a special place in my heart.
This is why Gaijin nerf the APDS is because it seem to OP and now it shoots like a rifle round but doing no damages unless you hit the crew or other components inside the tank.
However it's still good too.

Swedish tanks don't joke around. I've had so much fun playing low tier back when it was released. Rapid firing SPAA that can used as a tank destroyer and anti-aircraft, high-velocity peashooters that reload just as quickly, and to top it off, the 75mm autoloader with 4 rounds. doesn't matter if they barely have armor if the enemy can't see you first
Another tank that is surprisingly good at taking out much larger tanks is the crusader mk.3, a low profile, speedy tank with an excellent 6 pounder gun, T-34s? KV-1s? Shermans? No problem with this beauty if a British tank
