War Thunder players have a joke that mid-tier German mains are a little oblivious, so someone asked me if I could emulate that gameplay as a challenge. I did so using the Panther G medium tank and it was actual suffering.

@@heliogonzalezsanchez8227 i got annoyed with getting shot by people i can't hear while doing that, so now i just don't even touch tanks if i wanna have fun on the game. i'll roll a j, put on some music and hop into air arcade, not even rb. games so much more enjoyable to me when i can fly around and shoot a few people while chilling out, then just hop right into another plane when i die.
the RP gains are terrible compared to what they used to be playing RB, but i'm actually enjoying the game for the first time in a long while, so it's worth it imo

Attempt number 20 at getting Spookston to play out any tank with a dozer blade, the catch is, he has to dig in before engaging targets. Movement around the map is allowed, but he has to dig in again before reengaging.
Especially the Russian designed dozer blades, in their unique fashion.
This is legitimately cruel

14:20 the simulator mode has you looking outside the tank only from the cupola which is cool (no peeking corners, but no nausea either), also reminds me of the early versions of the game.

On Enlisted you play as the commander but you get exposed if you want to look outside the cupola

People after finding out sim battles are a real thing
You could make this challenge worse.
You could make it a "One Man Challenge" where you can only drive if you're in the driver view, shoot in the sniper/gunner view and scout(look for enemies) in the commander view. That's the closest to having one guy manning a whole tank alone. The only advantage is that you can choose any vehicle for this challenge.
PS: commander gunner controls are allowed.
Hstv-l irl was able to be fully and completely operated with only 1 crew member, so if we were to stretch the limits here, driving the hstv-l would be really advantageous bc you would just be playing it like everyone else. :D

It’s the details that make Spook so good at what he does. When he clarifies the challenge rules and says “main gun only hits,” the “smoke missed” ding plays in reverse as tallies are removed.
It’s classy stuff.
the live reaction cam is actually a really cool idea. you should do it more in future videos, even if it's kind of redundant when you're not restricted to sniper mode.
1) I still want to see you play the Nashorn.

Good video, but not the real german tank experience. For that, you need:
-Go with 15 more he shells and 20 more apcr.
-Rush the capture point. If all the team go to c, you go to c as the spearhead, if they go to a, you go to a as first line. Remember, you have a tiger and you are "invincible".
-Dont look at the corners, you go straight. You are "invincible".
-Dont shoot to weakspot, you big gun could decimate any tank in the world, the german tanks are the best, you are the best, if you shoot 5 rounds, one will penetrate.
-Dont hear the enemies. You are hearing Erika so loud that you can even hear your allies, so down the enemy motor sounds, increase the sound of the allies and then play with music and the game sound low.

The amount of teammates like that that I've had is insane...like sure I ain't no pro but I'm certainly not intending to fuel the German Main stereotype :/

I think Spookston made an agreement with the devil where he gets a lot of kills at any br but gets bombed in almost any tank, or its just a coincidence
This kind of content is pretty good imo, not specifically this challenge in particular, but just interesting challenges like this. It's a good change of pace from just doing different vehicles
I have maximum respect to you for both taking up the challenge, despite the sickening handicap, and still managing to be more competent than the average German main.
Hi spookston! If you use select machine gun and scope in and out really fast you get into the commander mg scope

@@samoerai6807 in your controls there is a button for select machine gun. It acts like your primary gun while selected, then you can press it again to go back to regular shooting
@@bingustheallmigty5850hi sorry for the late reply. Thanks for helping :). So you mean you have like a separate gunner view for your machine gun and main gun? I suppose this is only really useful when the machine gun is on top of the tank. Not so much when it’s asides the main gun as the gunner views would pretty much overlap.

As a German main yes my teammates are generally bad and it doesn't help that Germany has to fight Cold War tanks very early on
Also, you should have used Binos and driver viewport for that extra bit
I am also a German main and I feel bad for other German mains that are more decent at the game because we are just a meme at the moment.

3:59 you don’t know how many times I’ve died to that exact shot, and it’s often also just the enemy panicking and randomly guessing where to shot and just get lucky.
To be fair, Germany’s 6.7 lineup is insanely good, and in general Germany is a very powerful and easy to use faction, but they’ve kind of screwed the panthers by putting them at 6.0. The panther gets up tiered almost every match and is a total joke compared to IS-2s, T34 (American one), T26E5 and other heavies it comes up against in up tiers. I’m a Soviet/American player and I’m not even remotely scared of panthers when I see them, I usually just upper front plate them in 1 shot with tanks like the T26E1. The panthers belong around 5.7 fighting IS-1s, Sherman jumbos, and T34-85s, not late war American and Russian heavies

Spookston „ Sound is REALY important“. Me who has played the game for 3000 hours without ANY sound at all……. Cqc is REALLY shit without sound I have to say. I love sniper mapes therefore 😂
What you just experienced in this game is what every tank gunner went/goes through with the added benefit of a scope in your eye so if the driver hits a bump too hard.........that bastard.

I find it funny spookston tells us not to play with music because sound is important, yet I've been playing without sound for alot of my game play
Two things - I had a really good time watching this type of video from u, so I hope there ill be more of that. Second thing, to the "dont listen to music" advice - I play wt for fun (I know, wierd) and even tho I know I am trash, music makes the hole experience even more satisfying ;)

This is how tanks play in Enlisted but without driver view or being able to look out of the top hatch.
I instantly felt how painful it must have been to not press shift. muscle memory is a bitch.

The Panther G is such a good tank in War Thunder. Its essentially playing the game for you if you're not utterly braindead.

Spookston saying 6 kills “isn’t a lot” is funny considering there are a substantial # of games where my 3 man squad (me included) will combine for more kills than the rest of our team combined

I think this challage feel like you lost tank commander.And tank driver also blind. The only person who still can see is gunner.😂
The real German main experience is using "gunners' optics"
It gives you offset between the sight and a barrel, making it almost impossible to fire from behind the corner, and throws off your aim at close range.
But it allows you to see your gun barrel which makes you feel kool and authentic.
you forgot to play the tiger, blast erika everytime you bounce and smoke the team
next time you have to listen to Volksmusik for the entire duration, can't be, that you're hearing anything else
this was really funny to se you play as it is in real world for a tanker
This is literally just being inside a tank challenge (you do not have a ethereal sign of everything around you unless your commander turns out).

The concept of smoke does not exist for Spookston
I think taking full ammo load should have been part of the challenge.
In order to complete the german main experience he needs to bring max ammo
that basically how i play tho.
i would win most of long range engagement, but get flanked. that's why i rarely go alone

That’s the situation with all tank gunners
Idea for challenge. Choose a line and start at reserve, go up as far as you can in br and get a kill, if you don't succeed go down the line one step, and keep going down until you get a kill on a top tier tank.
You have nailed the German experience on the head no. There are accordions to being blind and slightly blind and I fall into the blind spot.
As a German main myself I say we suffer as we never learned to aim and that is what makes us German mains easy to play against if you have good armor
This video made me nostalgic for War Thunder, so I logged into my German main account after about six months. In my first game, I:
- accidentally hit my main gun bind and sent a shell into the ground right as the match started
- rear-ended my American teammate because I was texting and driving
- died to CAS (twice)

That was how my attempts to go thorugh the machine gun port ALWAYS go. I think I actually get through the MG ports like 1 time in 5. I don't get how other people do it.
For a dumb challenge I got the "Speed" movie challenge.
You have no right to stop (unless repairing), nore reverse. Choose whatever tank you want (though I advise a slow heavy tank).
Objective : 5 kills at least.
i find it amazing that the panther is at the same BR as the M51
Always recognize that wonderful marty o'donnell
and just think- that FOV is STILL larger than the gunner on an actual panther would have had since they lacked the no magnification unity sights and were always zoomed in. They required TC input to lay the weapon on target.
