and all this time i thought Metal Slug was just random stages put together.. i had never thought that there is a rich story to tell behind every stage. now i just want Metal Slug 8 to happen before my time comes

@@peaceka there are two Metal Slug games currently under development, one for mobiles the other for consoles. they have already showed a trailer for the mobile one which they named Metal Slug Code J.
@@bassram3337 i know about the metal slug code j, i just don't like something like that on a mobile game - im not a fan of microtransactions, 'pay 2 win' isn't really that fun as a metal slug fan myself.
though that console one got me curious, if it's metal slug 8 then it's good, since it might introduce some new characters since marco and tarma were technically retired story-wise.

most games they have has a p2w scheme. heck even a fucking platform shooter game like contra has a pvp now, which gives them to put p2w items for advantage.

Metal Slug 6 is an overlooked entry in the series. It actually made some improvements gameplay wise by giving each character their own strengths and weaknesses instead of being clones of each other. And a new threat which involves working together with both the rebel army, and the martians.
I blame SNK for this though, for not making it available to customers
It´s a shame that you can´t buy a regular copy of this one for modern consoles.

Good video. Anothers references: ''Metal Slug 6'' have many homages to ''Space Invaders'' (Taito) and ''Contra'' (Konami). The boss Iron Sentinel is a cannon tank anti-air like the Blaster and the new aliens is ''Invaders''. The last invaders boss is based in ''Aliens'' e ''Contra'' s bosses.
Ralf and Clark fighting against aliens in ''Ikari Warriors 2 - Victory Road'':Because this, the duo is transformed in living legends and expert in ''space invasions''.
''Metal Slug 4'' make homage to many movies, like ''Terminator''. Like the ''Allen android'' or the final boss robots like the ''Lost in the Space''s robot.

I like the introductions of Leona and the ikari warriors in the game. It’s ties them with KOF world. 😊👍🏾

I always liked how the Doctor of Ahmedeus in MS4 shows up in all of the previous games (as well as 6) seemingly recruiting people from around the world, as if to foreshadow future events in the series.
In case no one had noticed, the Invaders were formally known as Venusians, alien from the planet Venus and predators to the Marspeople, and the Invader King was formally known as the Venusian Queen. It's odd that they changed the names of the predators to the Marspeople and the gender of the final boss of Metal Slug 6.
At least Trevor got his retirement. Unless they pull a MGS on the poor soldier.

In KOF Maximum Impact 2, one of Ralf's alternative costumes is based on Marco.
Also in KOF MI2, Fio is playable and she has a nice backstory.
It explains why she became a soldier and how she met Heidern's mercenary group.

To be honest,Marco and Fio is more suitable for the mission of finding the cure of the virus,because Marco is a top tier hacker him self.Just look at him opening the last door of Rootmars without kicking at it or wiping off sweat from his forehead.
Yeah,if Marco and Fio can hack through an extraterrestrial computer that neither of them knows how it works,then they should've been the ones who find a cure for the virus.
If Marco and Fio were chosen tho,MS4 will only have 2 stages instead of 6

I love how little the artstyle changes between games, like they already started off with perfection and didn't need to improve any more from there.
This is something I didn't know I needed until I got it, Metal Slug was one of my favorite games growing up definitely need to replay it again after this!
Unlike with most people, I love MS4, with my favorite character also being introduced in this game, Trevor.
Hoo boy, I miss Nadia and Trevor's appearance in Metal Slug games

Technically when 7 is brought up. It should be noted that in the official canon of the Metal Slug series Fio during her time as the leader of a black-ops unit in the Italian Army aka her pre-Sparrow days had formed a friendship with the female member of the Ikari Warriors Hidenren's adopted daughter Leona due to working alongside the female mercenary on several classified ops before so when Leona along with the returning Clark, and Ralf show up to help during the events of Metal Slug 7 Fio is excited to work alongside her friend again.

Nice to see Metal Slug 4 had new villain organisation. It wouldn't have made sense for the Rebels and the Martians to once again be at odds with the protagonists after what happened in Metal Slug 6
These games, especially MS3, make me so nostalgic. Between seeing them on arcade cabinets at restaurants as a kid and playing them on a passed around ROM in high school, just glimpsing them brings back all kinds of memories

@@VilaToro64 Inner Goldfield is an amazing track. Asian Impact was great too. I loved so many tracks on that ost. Critical Maneuver, Biotoxic, Cliff and Cave, Bridge 256... etc lol

well the only thing missing is some of the cartoony sounding stuff from Metal Slug 1-3... I'm glad 6 steered away from the rock stuff as I feel it didn't quite fit the tone. not bad, just not right for Metal Slug. 3rd stage from Metal Slug 2/X is a perfect example of semi serious but kinda goofy too. 6 mostly got it right, but it's more atmospheric than other Metal Slugs

Not gonna lie, the zombie form is very OP for destroying large enemies with their super deadly blood vomit and immune to bullet except any fire related attack like fireball, maybe flamethrower as well

According to the official timeline, Metal Slug 3D is not only canon but takes place after 5. It should be noted that the official timeline came out BEFORE 7 and XX came out. It's possible that 7/XX takes place in 2032 or another time. It wouldn't be too crazy... especially considering that Metal Slug 6, 4, and 5 take place in the SAME YEAR (2031), haha.

To further tie Metal Slug to KOF would be Rugal supplying weapons to the rebels, hence why Heidern got involved with the Regular Army operations.
