You know, considering how it all started, I feel bad for Morden. The guy never get Justice he deserved, he lost his family by the failure of higher-ups and when his revenge came close to a success then it failed by Marco and Tarma's hands. After that everything are a rollercoaster for his life, if SNK going to end this series for good (story-wise) I hope they give him a proper send off of what he should get. Maybe we could fight some of the corrupted higher-ups in Regular army and in a way avenge his family, the better if Morden allied with us.
If u think about it. He doesnt have any other choice to avenge his family. He must love his family very deeply to went on this scale of revenge.
The higher up was the world government higher up, which is the strongest entity in the Earth. There is no way he can sue them and expect a win .
I feel extremely bad for him in MS 7. He likely just wanted to live his life with his followers alone but the United Earth hated him so much that they could not even let him live alone. It all seemed hopeless once his last "war" machine was gone until the savior of his life, the future came. But even then they could not prevent his sad fate. The Marsions tried to save him one last time but they even realized it was hopeless for him. He was left to be locked in a cell as of now or dead.

Ever heard about the SS? These lunatics literally swore to protect hitlers live with their own, an most realy where reckless to the brink of suicide. If only one of them had seen through all the shit that was going on and put a bullet between hitlers eyes, germany would have been spared a HUGE suffering. Not to mention that Millions of innocent jews wouldnt have been murdered in cold blood...

god i love how crazy this series is, it started with just fighting a army of humans, then they had androids, aliens, demons, time travelers. this series is bunkers but i love it

This was a treat, I've always thought the metal slug series was one of those "ok, so we're gonna make a new one, what do we add as a new slug or enemy" and then goes ape shit on concept and design without much reason. Hearing the lore of these kinds of games just makes me appreciate them a lot more than I did when I was a kid. Thanks for researching and telling us this ridiculous but ultimately fun story

Alien bosses scared the hell out of me back when I was a kid, but the demon boss was a real nightmare for me. It is the coolest and scariest Metal Slug boss in the terms of its design. I used to freak out and amazed at the same time when it appeared lol...

fun fact that demon in MS5 wasn't gonna be the final boss, the real final boss was planned to be the guy who worn the mask from the sky
You can play than version of Metal Slug 5 if you want. There's a channel called Mr. Beacon00 and it has a video in which you can get the link to a modified rom that has that boss fight and even more.

There is a Metal Slug 5 "remake" game, it is still the same game but it restores all of the cut content from the final release of the game itself, which includes The Leader of the Ptolemaic Army named Ptolemaios. I watched it from Banden's full playthrough.

Metal Slug 5 was the last MS to be made for NeoGeo, too bad it was rushed out of the door, it misses two midbosses in the final mission along with some new NPCs
Some unfinished paths, other boss fights also missing like how you were gonna refight the black metal slug from the first mission, alot of new food sprites not put into the game, and the flame shot isn't even in the game somehow.

Indeed. At least those previously unused boss sprites were used in the Metal Slug Attack series. Thus they didn’t go to waste. =)
Such good storytelling that the Metal Slug series has. Even the great Kojima could not think such a compelling story like that.
Honestly, I think Metal Slug would be a great series to make new entries into. As long as the new entries have the right art style and sense of humor, they could do a LOT with the series with a reboot or modern sequel.
Definitely worth watching all three parts! You should do the Fatal Fury Story from Fatal Fury 1, 2, 3, Real Bout 1 and 2, Dominated Mind, Wild Ambition, and Garou: Mark of the Wolves.
Maximum Impact as well.
That series is part of the Fatal Fury timeline.

I didn't know that a few of the protagonist soldiers had a connection with the King of Fighters.
Fio had already met Leona in Maximum Impact 2
She was playable in that game.

They're still in separate storyline tho, hopefully, if this will have another sequel someday, I wish there'll be playable Hidern.
King of Fighters have connections to almost every franchise snk has made, the whole point of KoF is to be a kind of all-stars "everyone is here" game, but for snk-only characters :)

Also, your fighting game story videos are a great source of fun inspiration, as I'm one of the weirdos who used to play fighting games for the story xD (also, being someone who works on writing, hearing different stories is a great learning experience)
Tho I was more of a Bloody Roar/Guilty Gear guy(boy to be precise), with some Primal Rage and Soul Edge/Caliburs mixed in. :p

Now this is a great video about the Metal Slug's Story. Tho, I liked how you mentioned the Hadoken POW and Rumi Aikawa on the first video. Wish you can give more details about other characters appeared in the game like Rumi's ill older sister Madoka Aikawa who joined the Regular Army after inspired by her younger sister.

I've been watching all the videos I could on metal slug after the 2 videos got me hooked on the series.
Now I've been sorely waiting for a story on metal slug 6 the last canonical game and I'm just wondering what happened to the series?
Over night I became a fan but I can't find anything else new happening for the games?
It really sucks being late to the party and not really having much to look forward to besides these videos about the games.
I heard they're makin two more MetalSlug games, but one of em are mobile with transactions of course

Two new games were supposed to release in 2020 but I assume corona got in the way of development. Dont know why they showed off the mobile game over the console one though

Good stuff man! I’ve only played X and XX, and I must say there are fun. I’m excited for MSTactics since it was recently announced!
Although irl it’s absolutely impossible.
It’d be cool if by some miracle SNK decided to make a sequel to Psycho Soldier with gameplay similar to this.
Instead of firearms you’d be shooting different Psycho-beams or whatever the heck it was you were shooting at enemies in Psycho Soldier.
Instead of bombs you’d have those special psycho crystal thingies orbiting around you which you could launch just like in the original game only with more effects beyond just attacks like healing, summons, buffs, etc.
Instead of vehicles you’d get transformations. I mean if Athena can transform into a phoenix and transform her hair/outfit at will, it’d be cool to see her transform into other things as well like those beasts her ancestor can summon in SNK vs Capcom or maybe even transform into her ancestor in the flesh.
All the power in the world, and the rebel army couldn't stop a couple of people with pistols!

You Had To Fight Ptolemaios.
The Old Man Who Is On An Tower And Using The Power Of The Sol Dae Rokker's Crystal, And The Commander In Chief Of The Army.
We Dont Know How Much Ptolemaios HP Has, But We Can Sure That He Was Not Very Easy.
Also He Had An Younger Version Of Himself...
But The Young Ptolemaios Is Only Seen In Metal Slug Attack.
metal slug attack looks like isnt cannon but tries to, also the latest bosses in ms5 where literally in the top of a stone turtle
