Yes it's Android 12 Phantom Process Killing. You can search about this.
Google pushed this without publicly stating.
They'll fix it in Android 12L and in Android 13. This is official.
For now in order to bypass this you have to run a command through adb that will increase the phantom process limit.
It will work for 5 hrs or so and then again go back to default.
Then you have to run the command again.
      github.com/agnostic-apollo/Android-Docs/blob/master/en/docs/apps/processes/phantom-cached-and-empty-processes.md#commands-to-disable-phantom-process-killing-and-tldr

At 4:52 you can see the command I run in LADB(this app is used to run ADB commands directly on your android phone).
That command is used to set the max limit for phantom process.
The 2nd command I run (the video stopped and glitched) is simply to check if the phantom process limit got changed or not.. it's not mandatory.

Finally someone who has made a video on Samsung. I would like to really thank you for making this in depth video on dex, which nobody has done until now.
Unfortunately, people dont consider this phone because of Samsung's newer A-series phones, and also because they dont know about the 30x zoom and Samsung dex's gigantic potential.
I will soon upgrade from my A20 to this S20FE 5G, or if I'm upgrading later, I will get the S21FE 5G when price drops.
What you get in an A-series phone is battery life and the display and software support, but there are some imperfections like performance hiccups probably. Also, the cameras are pretty outdated(and also, the depth and macro cameras are unnecessary, inferior to the S-series camera), and limited camera modes. For example, you have not much in pro mode in A-series, but in the S6 which I have in my home currently, the pro mode in that is top-notch. It has more controls.
Also, some more imperfections are the speakers(not very loud), and display brightness. And you also get bloatware with annoying notifications.

    • @techstation365
      @techstation365  2 года назад +5

S series is simply superior to A series in almost everyway.
Only battery life is better in A series due to slower SoC.
The fact that the S20 FE 5G is priced similar to an A53, shows how terrible of a deal is the A53.
I made a video warning people not to buy the A53.

It's Samsung's own fault. On one hand there is Apple honking around claiming that iPads are PCs with iPad OS when in reality iPad OS is still a mobile OS.
And there was Linux on Dex support for Galaxy Tablets, but lierally zero marketing! As a result it wasn't a success and Samsung closed the project.

Dex is a forward looking concept, large fold/rollable screens with slim but powerful android type specs seem to be the future... can replace laptops and possibly even desktops, the idea of using stations to amplify your primary device such as external gpus is a really promising future. Imagine a gaming cafe in the future, you log in with your phone and run your own operating system on your own drive but use the shop's graphic's card and display. Instead of having a "desktop" and a "phone" you can just augment your mobile phone/tablet to be equivalent to or surpassing of traditional "desktops".
There are some benefits and drawbacks... but you could attempt to build that ecosystem... idk that putting your phone in a usb c dock or a laptop shell is the entire idea, it only makes sense with things like external graphics cards/ram boost or something, the main concept being your main os installs of linux/macos/windows etc. live on your mobile devices. (with or without lte, bluetooth, wifi ... might add, fully offline vs fully online)

I actually used Dex one day continuously for 5 hrs. I normally use it for short work or if I'm using my laptop for editing, I mostly use Dex on Windows 'wirelessly'.
But heating is like usual, like when playing emulation games for a period of time. Battery drain is faster in dex as the phone is sending HDMI signal, but the dock I showed here, has type C for passthrough power, and it very slowly trickle charges the phone, which does not cause any heating at all.
Or you can just place the phone on a wireless charging pad.
Dex is super handy when you have everything setup and just need to plug the phone in. My monitor has 2 HDMI cables always connected, one for my laptop and the other to the dock. I just plug my phone to the dock.

Thanks for this video. I have a question. Can we create some kind of DeX OS? I have a an old 32bit laptop that I am putting on the shelf because any OS that I have tried in it is so slow. Since DeX app uses the laptop as a monitor and a keyboard, I'm thinking if there is DeX + a lightweight OS combined to act as a docking station for the Samsung mobile. I think it would be a great project. Thanks

According to you, everybody should simply cast the video output to a display and throw away our HDMI cables, right??!
Please gather some knowledge before jumping to the conclusion. You are comparing sh#t wireless casting with perfect wired connection, unbelievable.
And you don't need an "intermitten" device". I used that as I don't have Type-C input on my monitor. And bdw that's a dock, you can use it to add more ports to your phone.
