Ok take chicken seasoned with salt and pepper, slit open and fill with cream cheese. Bake or cast iron cook. When cooked top with cowgirl candy put back in oven for about 3 minutes just to warm. Serve over hot cooked rice .

That cowgirl candy brine also works good for spicy refrigerator pickles, spicy ketchup, and bbq sauce....🥵🥰 I love it when you bring us along for canning!

We eat it sparingly, we make Cowgirl Candy by adding pineapple bits to the mix. It’s good poured over cream cheese as a dip.

I only have six jalapeno plants but they have absolutely gone crazy. I have put up about fifty half pints of cowboy candy, 7 pints of pineapple jalapeno candy (which was good but we like the regular better), four gallon bags in the freezer, I am
freezing poppers, jalapeno hot sauce, spicy v8 juice, and pizza and pasta sauce. They have not even slowed down producing yet.

    • @gogogardener

That's incredible. The V8 juice sounds delicious.

@@gogogardener It was actually a spicy v8 and was so good. I am just amazed at the peppers these 6 plants have put out. I have given away so many Walmart bags full.

That’s awesome!! So happy for your bounty. I planted several pepper plants in the spring and have gotten nothing so far. Right now 2 pepper plants have flowers and are steadily growing so I’m feeling hopeful. One pepper plant is a spicy smoked pepper and the bigger one with lots of flowers is a mystery, since the name on the tag faded in the sun. Hopefully it’s a sweet pepper. I wanted to have an abundance like you, but maybe next yr 😂.

Love this! I had not even thought of making it a "Cowgirl Candy" Relish style! I will definitely use this - and that relish will go great when I make homemade thousand islad dressing (with a kick). The brine/syrup would be great as a salad dressing on its own, or mixed in some coleslaw. As far as how are we using our (hot) peppers: dehydrated for red pepper flakes, smoked and dehydrated for chipotle powder and smoked paprika (not hot peppers), diced and frozen for use later in dishes, tossed in with other veggies in a ferment, fermented by themselves for hot sauce, combined with tomatoes from our garden in a salsa (we love to roast the tomatoes, onion, and peppers first), roasted in strips and put in oil (like sun-dried tomatoes), and ground up fresh then frozen in "pucks" or small ice cube trays for dropping into soups, stews, and casseroles.

Yippee yahoo, finally a cowboy/girl candy recipe from you! My first very scary canning experience was the water bath method. Made 4 jars, discovered one a year later had black mold under the lid so discarded, other three were great used soon after processing. Thank you so much as my peppers will be store bought at the cheap bounty prices. My pepper yield was a pathetic one pepper weekly from garden. Thank you Mrs. H.!!

I just pickle them whole. Water, salt and white vinegar. I pull the stem off and the liquid gets through fine. I have volunteer potatoes in my jalapenos. The puzzle is getting the potatoes out and not harming the peppers.😂Very carefully.
3 Cushaws growing finally. One looks about 8 pounds and 2 little ones starting maybe 2 pounds. Going to run out of time here before a frost. Hopefully all of September is enough and no bugs attacking.

The hot bananas and the chipotle are going crazy. I’ve thus far picked the bananas, freeze dried some as a test, smoked some chipotle and am going to make powder, the pan poblanos I made stuffed for dinner and freezer meal.
