Ok take chicken seasoned with salt and pepper, slit open and fill with cream cheese. Bake or cast iron cook. When cooked top with cowgirl candy put back in oven for about 3 minutes just to warm. Serve over hot cooked rice .
That cowgirl candy brine also works good for spicy refrigerator pickles, spicy ketchup, and bbq sauce....🥵🥰 I love it when you bring us along for canning!
I only have six jalapeno plants but they have absolutely gone crazy. I have put up about fifty half pints of cowboy candy, 7 pints of pineapple jalapeno candy (which was good but we like the regular better), four gallon bags in the freezer, I am freezing poppers, jalapeno hot sauce, spicy v8 juice, and pizza and pasta sauce. They have not even slowed down producing yet.
@@gogogardener It was actually a spicy v8 and was so good. I am just amazed at the peppers these 6 plants have put out. I have given away so many Walmart bags full.
That’s awesome!! So happy for your bounty. I planted several pepper plants in the spring and have gotten nothing so far. Right now 2 pepper plants have flowers and are steadily growing so I’m feeling hopeful. One pepper plant is a spicy smoked pepper and the bigger one with lots of flowers is a mystery, since the name on the tag faded in the sun. Hopefully it’s a sweet pepper. I wanted to have an abundance like you, but maybe next yr 😂.
Love this! I had not even thought of making it a "Cowgirl Candy" Relish style! I will definitely use this - and that relish will go great when I make homemade thousand islad dressing (with a kick). The brine/syrup would be great as a salad dressing on its own, or mixed in some coleslaw. As far as how are we using our (hot) peppers: dehydrated for red pepper flakes, smoked and dehydrated for chipotle powder and smoked paprika (not hot peppers), diced and frozen for use later in dishes, tossed in with other veggies in a ferment, fermented by themselves for hot sauce, combined with tomatoes from our garden in a salsa (we love to roast the tomatoes, onion, and peppers first), roasted in strips and put in oil (like sun-dried tomatoes), and ground up fresh then frozen in "pucks" or small ice cube trays for dropping into soups, stews, and casseroles.
Thank you for your inspiration. Yesterday, I canned 6 jars of chow chow using your teaching. If it had not been for your voice playing in my head, I never would've finished. I heard your voice saying "cut that part off" and I did 😂. I can say you make it look easy. Next week it's cow girl candy! You have no idea how helpful your teachings are to a beginners. Thanks!
Everything I do, I have learned from Mrs H. She took this girl who was curious and just starting out homesteading and has turned me into a Mama who CAN do anything. Her wisdom will be passed through me to my children... she's such a Blessing!!!!!!!
I made your "cowgirl" candy, and OMG it is wonderful! It's my 1st time making it. Your recipe is awesome. Just wanted you to know how much I love your videos.
I dehydrate, then poweder about half of my red hot and bell peppers i don't use in spaghetti sauce, etc. If i have a whole bunch of jalapeno or habaneros, i make jelly to sell/give as gifts because folks like that.
We found a recipe for cowboy candy a few years ago and ever since we have made, what we thought was a years supply every summer. Between family begging for it and as much as we eat... We're going to have to start making more if we truly want a years supply! 😆
This is the first year I have made it and between us, my son, son in law and nephew we have already dropped down from 50 jars to thirty so I guess I will make some more
I never heard of cowgirl candy but it sounds delicious. I will try it next year when i grow more peppers and jalapeños. Hope you and Mr. H feel better soon. Binge watching your canning videos. Peace and much blessings.
I have been watching several of your canning videos. You have given such awesome instructions. I am ready to break out the canner I purchased a year ago and start canning. You have given me confidence to begin my canning journey at 65 years old. Thank you, Mrs. H! Your channel is a blessing.
Your sinus must really be open by now. This is such a great video. I enjoy watching step by step canning as I’m new to learning this. Cowboy candy sounds delicious.
Glad your feeling better! I love these canning videos I go by your videos on canning maybe we could get some meal videos I learned canning meats from you the beans the little red beans an sausages the salmon I'm wanting to do beef stew and vegetable soup do you do any meals in the jars happy days to you and your Family!
Yippee yahoo, finally a cowboy/girl candy recipe from you! My first very scary canning experience was the water bath method. Made 4 jars, discovered one a year later had black mold under the lid so discarded, other three were great used soon after processing. Thank you so much as my peppers will be store bought at the cheap bounty prices. My pepper yield was a pathetic one pepper weekly from garden. Thank you Mrs. H.!!
Thank You my friend for the great idea of using the food processor to chop the jalapenos. I had 5 lbs and was dreading slicing those jalapenos. Yesterday I used your recipe for the cowgirl candy and made 12 half pints. I like the relish better than the slices. I really love your videos very informative and humorous. I love your personality.
Hey Mrs. H, I am learning something new from you today. I have never heard of Cowgirl Candy Brine! This video is very interesting and informative and thanks for sharing! Peace and Blessings to You and Mr. H & Family. 🙏❤️❤️🙏
I love the colors of the peppers in jars like that! When I make the cowgirl candy, pepper jelly or just pickled peppers. All that red and green is like Christmas in a jar🤗 I love it!!
We absolutely love the cowboy candy brine brushed on grilled chicken. Its absolutely delicious. I love your canning videos, you have taught me so much! Thank you!
Thank you for this recipe, i was just saying when im blessed to get lots of peppers, i wanted to try a good recipe. You’re God sent. Thank you so much ❤
Got to do something with my hot peppers, made stuffed peppers with my bell peppers, been picking my grapes & making jelly following your recipe turned out great hope you get to feeling better thank you for the receipes
I made your eggplant chili from my garden. It is so delicious. I canned them. 😊. Can't wait to try this with my jalapeños. Thank you, from Escondido, Ca, always, for your recipes and love your videos. Yum-yum! 🌻.Feel better!
Hi Mrs.H. I am so glad you are feeling better, I was feeling down also with a hacking cough 😷 for two weeks whew thank God 🙏🏾🙏🏾 for his healing hands of mercy Praise the Lord 🙏🏾💕 I'm not a spicy lover anymore but I used to be But you go girl enjoy your cowgirl candy LoL 🤣🤣🤣 Peace and many blessings
Wow, huge isn't the word for that yard. That was amazing, fantastic, awesome, beautiful job you 2 did. That trailer is the bomb, too. Shout out to East Texas trailers.
I can Cowboy Candy, pickled jalapenos, add to pickles for hot pickles, add to pickled veggies, pineapple jalapeno jam, peach jalapeno jam. 😊 Last year was first time I made cowboy candy so I made a small batch - 😢😢 this year I'm goin BIG!😂😂
I love your channel. Hi from Georgia ❤ Can you, or anyone please show how to can and make things using the bare necessities? I live in a motel. I save glass jars from previous items. Any direction or assistance to help me/us and preserve safely would be a blessing. Also we cook on a one-eyed electric burner. Thank you. God bless everyone ❤
Six months ago I never heard of cowboy candy. After seeing your video, I had to try it. I like well seasoned foods, but not spicy and definitely not hot spicy. Well . . . On 3-2-2024 I made some cowboy aka cowgirl candy and I am hooked! You are such an inspiration. Thank you!
I did a recipe of the cowboy candy, cowgirl relish and pepper jelly with the large harvest I had in all colors. Love having these on hand for condiments or an appetizer. So good!!!!
I made the cowboy candy for the first time this past week...in the slices. I like your method of dicing/shredding and will give it a whirl with the remainder of our crop. Thank you for sharing.
I usually can pickled peppers, but this year, I grew additional varieties to make pepper jelly. I do have more peppers growing so I'm going to have to try cowgirl candy.
Ohh cowboy candy chicken sound fabulous, I have to remember that.I am making this tomorrow. I don't think I have enough for poppers, but would love to have those too.
I just pickle them whole. Water, salt and white vinegar. I pull the stem off and the liquid gets through fine. I have volunteer potatoes in my jalapenos. The puzzle is getting the potatoes out and not harming the peppers.😂Very carefully. 3 Cushaws growing finally. One looks about 8 pounds and 2 little ones starting maybe 2 pounds. Going to run out of time here before a frost. Hopefully all of September is enough and no bugs attacking.
I am about to make some of these… tx for sharing Mrs. H! …. Oh and I am about to make jalapeño cornbread for my freezer…. We have lots of jalapeños this year… have made them pickled already… yum!
I forgot to plant bells. Bought some and freeze dried them. The jalapeños failed. I think I got enough off the six plants for a small appetizer of poppers. The hot bananas and the chipotle are going crazy. I’ve thus far picked the bananas, freeze dried some as a test, smoked some chipotle and am going to make powder, the pan poblanos I made stuffed for dinner and freezer meal. I still have many banana and chipotle and am going to make cowgirl relish. I think it’ll be good.
I have made quite a few already this year but I never add mustard. I will be trying it in my next batch tomorrow! I do most of my jalapeno candy in rings but I like the relish style just as much and you can mix in different peppers. Great video. I hope you get well and stay that way!
Hi fam how are you doing today i heard that you were sick the last time i had talk to fam hopefully you are feeling better fam keep up the good work fam love you'll
I’ve made two batches one in rings and one chopped and didn’t use mustard either. I think I’ll try it next time though I’ll grind the teaspoon of mustard seed just because seeing it will make me think of bread and butter pickles that I don’t care for! 😂
I love peppers so much I need to make up some of this. I'm thinking of trying pepperoncini and jalapenos, all kinds of peppers. A batch of each separately.
Oh yes, the syrup or brine is delicious brushed on meat. We use it on pork roast. It's also great mixed into the filling in deviled eggs. Always save the syrup!!
My husband and I got sick 3 weeks ago with a very sore throat, terrible headache and sinus pressure. We felt so tired we could barely move for 5 days. We are much better now but it took 2 weeks to bounce back.
I slice my Jalapeños thin. Put in pint jar. Then I mix white vinegar, canning salt and water. Bring the vinegar mix to a hard rolling boil. Pour into a jar. Do one at a time. Clean rim and tighten lid. They will seal and last years. Just like you put on nachos
I am going to make this recipe I have done cowboy candy before and I love them I know that I will enjoy this recipe also thank you for sharing it with me

I know you may be embarrassed that you couldn't find your bands but thank you for making the rest of us feel normal.
I really enjoy the unedited videos, it helps with the timing of canning tasks.
I am making some cowboy candy when I have gathered enough peppers , thank you so much Mrs Heart .
That's MEDICINE around HERE!😉 Take Care & Feel better SOON!🙏🏼💙✌🏼💙✊🏼
I marinated beef for jerky in the remaining cowgirl relish brine. It was amazing. I need to do it again.
I used mine on chicken wings! Amazing!
Wow, great idea! Getting ready to make some jerky and I have a jar of the brine. Thanks!
I've referred so many people to your channel, who are afraid to start canning. You're so calming and make it look so easy.
We eat it sparingly, we make Cowgirl Candy by adding pineapple bits to the mix. It’s good poured over cream cheese as a dip.
I only have six jalapeno plants but they have absolutely gone crazy. I have put up about fifty half pints of cowboy candy, 7 pints of pineapple jalapeno candy (which was good but we like the regular better), four gallon bags in the freezer, I am

That's incredible. The V8 juice sounds delicious.

If I am using one measuring cup, I do dry ingredients first. Liquid first always guarantees the dry sticking to cup.
I love it on hotdogs and fish
