My sister loved these when we were kids, we would get them at the Brachs Candy Shoppe bins at the grocery store, early 90s . I think they were 10c a piece with a few coins into the attached coindbox. I would get the cherry hard candy coated gum balls, cinnamon discs, and my all time favotie butterscotch discs. Happy Groundhog Day! Early spring
Such great memories!!! I sure do wish we could get that quality of candy again for $.10 each. Wow, those were the days!!! Thanks for watching and sharing your memories with me! Have a blessed day!!!
I remember the Brachs candy displays in the grocery stores and they had the chewy white candy with different colors of gelled or gummy pieces mixed in it, I always sort of liked those.
Yes! My mother went shopping once a week and she would take us to Sears along with our other stops. The candy counter was amazing. My brother and I would get one small bag of candy and this was one of my favorites. Such great memories! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed evening!

This recipe totally worked. Candy is delicious. Its one of my favorites. I remember Sears candy counter. When i cut my pieces of candy I took a tiny bit of cornstarch on my hands and brushed over candy so no sticking. I keep candy in cover container in refrigerator i like the candy cold it makes the gummies taste better. I dont taste cornstarch at all because its just a small amount but it works. Thanks for recipe. I will always have this candy to enjoy. I noticed some old school candy cost alot online.
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 The red and green gummy pieces are perfect for Christmas. Also, the cornstarch dusting in each piece is a great idea. Thanks for watching, have a blessed evening, and enjoy the delicious candy. ☺️ Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
I remember that candy! Our Sears didn't have a candy counter, but our local grocery store sold Brach's candies by the pound. When my mom would let me buy some as a treat, I always put a lot of the nougats in there because they were my favorite. When you started talking about the French Provincial furniture set, I immediately looked up. I'm 51 and still have the set in my bedroom. My parents bought it at a lawn sale for a steal when I was a tween. It's quite chipped around the edges from lots of use, but still in great condition.
Wow! I wish I still had mine. 🥲 It had a canopy and was just beautiful. Perfect for a little girl. As I got older (a teen) I removed the canopy and just had it as a 4-poster bed. Still beautiful! I received it for my 5th birthday- the dresser, mirror, bed, nightstand, and tall chest. I felt like a big girl. OH, did I get in trouble when I had that candy in my room. I took a bite and put the other piece on the dresser. Big mistake! Bigger punishment!!! I loved the candy 🍬 and the furniture. Both have such great memories. Isn’t it great, the little things so many of us have in common. 😊 Thanks so much for watching! Your post blessed me today and I hope you have a blessed weekend as well!!!
So glad I came across your channel. I make this every year at Christmas. I use a double boiler, and I only use 1 bag of marshmallows & 1 (12oz) bag of white chocolate chips plus the 2 T of butter at a time, I also use the dots cut into 1/4’s. The way you do it in microwave is so much faster & seems easier. I’ll have to try it your way this year. Thank you 🙏🏽 11/14/24.
You are Beautiful for sharing your wonderful past. And what a bonus, a recipe of that good old candy. I would of never guessed marshmallow ingredients. Thank you so much for your time!!! Pamela ❤
This is such a good candy and so easy to make. Thank you for your kind words, choosing to watch, and taking time to leave a comment! I appreciate your engagement! 😊 Have a blessed weekend and a very Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
I really like your stories, and I have 2 that yours brought up in my memory. You leaving they candy on your furniture and it left a mark. I was probably 12 and was making popcorn with our popper which had a hand crank on the stove. Before I started mom told me NOT to set the hot popper on her new plastic tablecloth on the kitchen table. You guessed it, I did and it left a10" brown spot on it, she was mad. In the fall of 1976 I was 21 and working at a Sears store in Dayton Ohio. They had a candy counter, and sometimes durring my break I would go and buy just 4-5 pieces of this candy and eat it with my coffee. This brought back memories, thank you.
I think I would have ate my weight in candy if I worked at that candy counter. Every day would have been full of samples! 🤗 Thanks for watching and sharing your story too! Have a blessed day!

Aww, Thanks Stephanie, bringing back memories, My Father always would get 2lbs of the Brachs candy mix, I would go and snatch the nougats 😅my favorites!❤ I Miss You Pops❤
I love your recipe. This was my Dad's favorite candy. He always bought brachs candy and always had a full bowl in the living room on the coffee table.. Thank you the memories...
Yes, Brach’s candy was the best from my childhood too. There were so many wonderful candy treats that I enjoyed, but this is one of my favorite! So glad you enjoyed the video version of this beloved candy. Your comment was so sweet and I’m so glad we could share this Brach’s memory! 😊 Have a blessed week!!!
Thank you ❤ thank you ❤ & thank you❤. I made one pan of these nougat candies last weekend and they are a big hit.. I’ve already shared your recipe with 3 other people. I got enough white chocolate chips and marshmallows to make 5 more batches. I ordered me some mini jelly belly jelly beans in citrus flavors to try in one batch. And I’m also going to make chocolate nougat then dip it in semi sweet chocolate. I’m so anxious to make more of these. Again, thank you so much. ❤
Wow! All of that sounds yummy!!! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and are having fun by making it your own. I love hearing how other are being creative, appreciate you sharing, and your sweet comment!!! 😊 Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!!!
Thanks for posting this. A client of mine made this for me every holiday. I am sure hers was a cooked version of this. She used green and marching cherrys.she added a walnut also. And also cherry extract.
Jelly nougats & caramel creams...my all time favorite candies growing up. Thanks for the nougat recipe, store bought are ridiculously expensive 😳. Also, I am a confirmed DOTS-aholic. 😋
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video. It sounds like it was made for you! 😊 Feel free to experiment with various gummy candy for a fun twist on the basic recipe. So glad to see others have enjoyed this candy as much as I do! 🤗 Thanks for watching and your comment. Have a blessed day! 😊

I remember Nougat! Thank you for sharing how to make it.. All the left over Dots would make beautiful Easter Nougat, too. What Fun!! Just thinking of all the ways to match colors to seasons If you boughr Blue & Red Swedish Fish, you could use them instead of Dots for the 4th of July, LOL
Yes! Such great memories!!! I think the thing that made the “candy counter” so magical was… candy was not accessible everywhere when we were kids. It was a special treat. Thanks for watching!!! I hope you have a good week and a Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
It was our last so too!!! 😁 Just looking at all of the candies made decisions so difficult. One of the things that made it special was that we only got a few pieces. It was not like today and everything was supersized. It was a treat! Great memories ☺️ Thanks for watching, your support, and sharing your precious memories! Have a blessed day!!! 😊
@@stephsstovebystephaniethom7249 exactly ... we didn't have consumption fatigue from there always being so much of everything. It's so hard to find anything special like that for & with our grands ... they've always had so much of everything and few rules. Thankful that what kids really appreciate most is time and attention - *that* we can give! Thanks for an opportunity for nostalgia - I can literally smell again the scent of candy & nuts and butter walking into sears. And savoring that precious bite of candy. (Though I also got in trouble the Christmas I was seven for sneaking behind TV and stashing Sees Coffee Candies back in open bottom of TV cabinet 😂 pretty enterprising of me, I think! We got those candies from the grocery store, there was a rack of brach’s, there were bonbons assorted flavors, and caramels , butterscotch discs etc .. but the nougats were my favorites
I can almost picture them. 😊 Those were the days…such great memories! So glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching, enjoy the candy, and I hope you have a blessed weekend!!!
It is such a classic and so satisfying. All of those wonderful childhood memories flood back when I make and enjoy this candy. Feel free to experiment with the “gummies” added, there are so many fun combinations. Thanks for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Have a blessed day!!!
This is great, thank you! I remember the Sears candy and even had the white French style bedroom set, with the pink rose buds as an assent. 😊 Thank you for sharing, I can’t wait to trying this recipe, I can’t wait. 😁
I remember those candy counters at Sears! My mom would go pay the account once a month so my dad would entertain us kids and take us to the candy counters. So we had time to walk around, round and round, until we came to the candy that we wanted. Then my dad would get us between 50 cents each, sometimes more. Sometimes I would get Spanish peanuts just because that was my dad's favorite. Didn't you just love to go and see the different candy at Easter, and at Christmas? Those were my favorite candies. Thank you for remembering these beautiful memories. I thought I had somehow made all these Saturdays up. So I'm glad that someone else has these wonderful memories, too.
Store them in an airtight container in the fridge. However, if you stack the candy you will need to separate the stacks with parchment paper to prevent them from sticking together. You can also toss each piece with powdered sugar to help prevent sticking. Great question! Have a blessed day!!!
❤ Just came across your channel and I love it. This recipe is awesome but the story about Sears just touched my heart. My mom was the candy lady at the Sears counter ❤ so many wonderful memories coming back and making my day. Thank you ❤

🎉❤ yummy looks amazing i also remember n loved this candy as a kid, we use to get ours at our local grocery store then, thanks for sharing your recipe with us
I am totally making this tomorrow. I have everything but the dots, my husband suggested sour patch kids, maybe after my first attempt so I can have that taste of nostalgia first
Actually, I had another viewer comment that they made it with Sour Patch Kids and it was delicious. 😋 I would give it a try! Thanks for watching and I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Have a blessed weekend and enjoy the nostalgia!!! 😉 Happy New Year 🎆
I made some of this from another person’s recipe, and it turned out delicious! I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil because vegetable oil can go stagnant. And it can have a flavor. Also, most of your coconut oil is pretty much flavorless or it blends in a lot better in taste white than vegetable oil. My opinion! Also, it’s important to to stir every 30 seconds intervals until it’s melted. Because if you just pop it in for 60 seconds, you take a chance on it overheating and then the chocolate sees up and It’s really hard to spread.
I couldn't find Dots anywhere in town so I ended up using Sour Patch Kids. 😅 My nephews about ate the entire tray, they loved it, and so did I. Thank you for the recipe!
Oh, my!!! I bet that was delicious!!! 😋 Truly you could use any gummy type candy for this recipe. Thanks for watching and sharing your results! So glad your nephew enjoyed them too! Have a blessed week and a Merry Christmas!!! 🎄

I apologize. When I checked the description, It looks like I did forget to add the exact amounts. So here goes… 2-10 oz packages of mini-marshmallows 20 oz (2 1/2 cups) White Chocolate Chips 2 Tablespoons butter 1 1/2 cups gummy candy (such as Dots) Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!!!

@@celestewatson4874Necco is still making their wafers. They are hard to find, just look around. I love them.
I rember a version of this candy from waaaaay back in the late 40's that was made with maraschino cherries. It was so so good and a very special treat
Yeah.... There were green and red and they were dried.... That's what I thought they were.... Couldn't find them in supermarket
Christmas time they will have the candied red and green cherries out. That sounds good to use.
Yes I do remember that candy when I was a child. I loved it! Have not seen it in years! Thank you for sharing the recipe with us.
Yes, it was such a good candy and going to the Sears candy counter was the best. So glad you enjoyed the video!!! Have fun making the candy and passing on the memories to your family as well. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! 🎄

We must’ve grown up in the same generation. I also had the French provincial white furniture as a little girl! I loved it so much. I still have the vanity and the corner dresser that went with that set! These candies were in my top three as a child😊
Wow! I wish I still had my furniture but sold it after I got married. It was so pretty! 🤩 I’m so glad you enjoyed the video and to know we shared so much growing up. Such a great time to be a kid!!! Thanks for watching and your sweet words! Have a blessed week and a happy New Year!!! 🎆
These have always been my favorites! The new ones they sell are more like Taffy than nougat. Will try yours!
Memories ,im a kid again Thank you for sharing

I Miss You Pops❤
I love your recipe. This was my Dad's favorite candy. He always bought brachs candy and always had a full bowl in the living room on the coffee table.. Thank you the memories...
Yes, Brach’s candy was the best from my childhood too. There were so many wonderful candy treats that I enjoyed, but this is one of my favorite! So glad you enjoyed the video version of this beloved candy. Your comment was so sweet and I’m so glad we could share this Brach’s memory! 😊 Have a blessed week!!!

Thank you so much and I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day and a happy Thanksgiving! 🦃🍽 🍁
Thank you for sharing. I will make this
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!!!
I remember the chocolate stars also. So good.
Thanks for posting this. A client of mine made this for me every holiday. I am sure hers was a cooked version of this. She used green and marching cherrys.she added a walnut also. And also cherry extract.
So glad you enjoyed the video! Your clients version sounds delicious too. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed weekend!!! 😊
My favorite at the Brach’s display! I would pick out the jellies then eat the nougat.Yum!
I remember those displays so well! My dad would only get his tools and camping stuff there! All those candies were good! The neopalitan ones, and those peppermint nuget ones where my favorite!
Great thanks for your help with this candy flo❤😂🎉

Thanks for watching and welcome!!! I look forward to making lots of great food together!!! Have a blessed evening and a Merry Christmas 🎄
I remember the Sears candy counter!!! Good memories from my youth
Yes! Such great memories!!! I think the thing that made the “candy counter” so magical was… candy was not accessible everywhere when we were kids. It was a special treat. Thanks for watching!!! I hope you have a good week and a Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
Looks good!
My mama used to make this, but she put chopped pecans in hers. It was wonderful that way.
Omg😍 My Favorite Candy 😊
I so was looking for that Candy for Christmas
Thank you so very much 😀
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed evening!!!
I remember the Sears candy area, it was my last stop before leaving the mall, I always got the sour cherries yum! I miss Sears!
The dog, and English setter, gave me up lol. Hope your Christmas was lovely and you have a great 2024
Still is my favorite. I will have to try it.
Such a good candy and great childhood memories from enjoying those little pieces of goodness! Thanks for watching and your comment. 😊 Have a blessed weekend!!!
I've never had these candies before I was born in the early 80's. I'm gonna try to make these.
I love watching your videos. You are beautiful and happy.
Oh I Love these, been trying to find them, but I didn't know the name of them, only that they were white with red and green pieces in them, Thank you so much for showing us how to make it.
This is a quick and easy recipe that turns out delicious. 😋 Feel free to experiment with various gummy type candies and have fun with the recipe. The memories of enjoying this candy are a good as the candy itself. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed evening. Merry Christmas!!! 🎄
I have watched a few of your videos now and I can't wait to try all the different recipes. So looking forward to seeing the looks from people when they get some of these for next Christmas.
They are so easy to make an absolutely delicious! However, don’t wait for Christmas, make them for Easter too!!! You can change the gummies to reflect the current season or holiday. They are fun year round. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!!! Enjoy the candy! 🍬😊 🍬

Yummy, that's one of my favorite child hood memory, Thank you for sharing this recipe, and 🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎉
So glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a Happy New Year too!!!
Oh! And that little counter at the grocery store, of different Brach's candy. The soft pieces with the fruit inside were my favorite.
I remember the candy section of Sears. I remember the smell in the air was divine.
I was watching this video again cant remember if I asked the best way to store Thank you
Store them in an airtight container in the fridge.
Thank you ❤
I really want to grab a piece and try it - so beautiful! Now I can't wait to make my own.
I'm so glad you loved the video! It makes me happy to share it with you! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed weekend!!! 🤗😊🤗

I am goin to make some for Christmas
I do remember those, and I also remember getting into trouble with them lol
This was my favorite too! We used to call them Frenchies. We got them at the Sears candy counter.😊😊😊😊
OH MY GOODNESS, I REMEMBER THAT CANDY. We had a corner Store that sold penny candy and I would always buy some. Love, Love, Love. ❤ Thank You so much for your video. I will definitely be making these. ❤

Thx Steph!! If i may... It would be helpful to list measurements in your written directions. Going to make this now❤
I apologize. When I checked the description, It looks like I did forget to add the exact amounts. So here goes…
2-10 oz packages of mini-marshmallows
20 oz (2 1/2 cups) White Chocolate Chips
2 Tablespoons butter
1 1/2 cups gummy candy (such as Dots)
Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed day!!!
❤ Thankyou!
I’m definitely going to make this with my kids! Looks delicious-and so pretty, especially in your milk glass dishes! I will be sure to tell my kids not to eat it in their bedrooms.😊
I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! It will be a fun recipe to make with your kids. The milk glass was my grandmother’s and is very special to me. 😊 Thanks for watching and your comment! Have a blessed weekend and hopefully your kids won’t sneak it in their bedroom! 🤭
A good tip, use your instapot on simmer with bowl over it using it as a double boiler.
Thank you
So glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a blessed weekend!!!
I think i have had 1piece of this candy...i always thought it was pretty....i remember the brachs candy display....and from Pizitz candy counter...
Yummy
I remember this candy too, but it was made with maraschino cherries. I think I would like a plain or maybe put some little walnut pieces in it.
Ya, we always made the nougat...but, these days, it's just me. I really do need eight extra hands. Got ta try it, though. Only alot less. And on the stove top. I don't like microwaving plastic-ware.😂thanks for sharing😊
Glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for watching and your comment. Have a blessed evening and enjoy the candy!!! 😊
We used to get those Bon bons that were chocolate covered and pastel inside and the smell of that warm popcorn, oh man. If you under cook popcorn today more butter coats it. But can’t find that candy anymore
