Hey! I just realized T.R.A.M. is the last name letters in alle the members name! T = The sax player - Adrián Terrazas-Gonzáles R = 2nd guitar - Javier Reyes A = 1st guitar - Tosin Abasi M = Drummer - Eric Moore You guys probably knew that, but shit I feel really cool now!
Wow I'd put so much effort into finding their wikipedia page (which is basically impossible by looking up t.r.a.m), only to come across your comment! Thank you for the knowledge, kind stranger
this song hit me like almost every AAL song like its super weird at first and i dont know if i like it, then after a couple days of my subconscious processing it and hearing it in the back of my mind i realize i NEED to listen to it and then BAM! i like it
I was looking up the word djazz to see if the terms was valid, and I come to this video and it was recorded not too far from my house. It's truly incredible what can slip past you.
man, this is really amazing. it kind of reminds me of Bela Fleck in some strange way. i guess it's the jazz but unconventional approach. the drummer is unreal. i'm not trying to troll, but it is really unfortunate that most people have such a hard time with/don't enjoy music like this. Tosin just plays with djent techniques and why sholdn't he? clearly he's not a one trick pony. i wish the newest Meshuggah album sounded more like Animals as Leaders - Weightless
Yeah he is, which makes even more sense because when Adrian and Tosin Abasi were making this project the originally asked Thomas Pridgen to do drums, but he couldn't and told them to call his cousin Eric Moore and ask him.
I hear so many Pat Metheny influences in this stuff, especially in the end, it reminds me a lot of "The Gathering Sky" from "Speaking of Now" album. Truly amazing band!
@Jaxonbass I didnt say it was the same thing. Just that the two guys that play strings in AAL, are in charge in this setup. I didnt even read back that far, to know that you were in it for the studio work. I think it's great, even if it's live. You can see that there is no bass guitar written into the song. The dynamic of sound is impressive, even though it's not to your total liking. Maybe you're not a jazz head.
@Bitchcake You're right, my bad! I learned they're both releasing their albums the same day a couple of days after my post, haha. Looking forward to hearing (and eventually purchasing) both bands' albums!
@gtocin87 Are you sure? Did he tell you that? I was recently informed that her name is Kelela Mizanekristos, and she actually did a video with Tosin in which she sung over Behaving Badly. I wasn't aware that she was his wife though...
What kind of guitar is Tosin using? It has a similar design to the ibanez but looks more like a strandberg (in the wood, it's not headless, which detracts from the likelihood that it's strandberg) The bridge and lack of a locking nut also point to not ibanez, as does the neck-trough construction (based solely off of look) But it also doesn't appear to be Mayonnes. If anyone could enlighten me I would be much obliged.
@DownSouthable In another band, I would agree, I think she's incredible, but this is meant to be an instrumental band. Obviously they wanted an extra layer that wasn't computer effects, and they picked her and she willingly wanted to do this. I would love for her to do more.... in another band or a solo project.
I'm always torn on this issue. Tosin Abasi says that it's basically seen as a genre so he accepts as one, even though he doesn't consider Animals as Leaders as a djent band. But Misha Mansoor who basically popularized the term still doesn't recognize it as a genre.
Whether it sounds good is a different matter. Thought saxes would sound best completely clean, but i suppose you can get some sounds that you can get with mutes without using mutes.
i wonder if the girl will actually sing on the album? im guessing they're using her for this show to fill in for those electronic choir parts that quite a few many AAL songs had, because i dont think she's actually in the band.... thoughts?
@NoaOno lol using the voice doesnt mean not instrumentals, depends the way you use it... the voice is an instrument you know.. zappa said he was using his as an instrument too
It is an onomatopoeia. But even Tosin himself now has a video where he says he believes it has become a name for the genre. Search "Tosin Abasi on Djent" and listen to what he says.

Prince Stuff Hit me the same way..... That's I learned a lot about myself from Artistic craftmanship different from other sources.
@@prestonprice9416 Same here
This band is one of the most underrated supergoups of the decade. Definitely something inspiring and fresh. Keep up the good work guys!
Hope these guys get around to doing a second album
Yes please!!! I like it way more than late animals as leaders.
Sadly nothing new :\
Maybe in our dreams
Kelelaa: 4 minutes of waiting...
Kelelalala: aaaaa aaaa aaaaaaa 12 sec
Tosin : THX TAKE YOUR CASH AND SHUT UP
+Hellaow Ahhahaahahaaa xD
HAHAHAH! I'm that one and only guy in the front row! So honored.
4:20 Hey, excuse me
NOT RIGHT NOW, not right now.
Still waiting for another collab, make this music happen again!
Imagine this in 1080p!
@Manbagdeluxe Her name is Kelela Mizanekristos. She's been doing vocals collabs with Tosin Recently.
That's some serious HAAS kicking they're doing there!
HAAS Kicker
They only have one album out right now. Lingua Franca.
You need to get it, it is the single most important piece of music of the century.
SuperBroman12 strongly disagree on that last statement. However it's an incredible album and worthy of many many listens
I was looking up the word djazz to see if the terms was valid, and I come to this video and it was recorded not too far from my house. It's truly incredible what can slip past you.
Kelela Mizanekristos, she sang on a version of 'Behaving Badly' on Tosin's channel, she is pretty good.
Incase you folks haven't heard, this album is scheduled to release at the end of Feb 2012. Purchase it.
I love how this is on metalinjection but not a single distorted note / chug(arguably the sound of metal) can be heard on this masterpiece
man, this is really amazing. it kind of reminds me of Bela Fleck in some strange way. i guess it's the jazz but unconventional approach. the drummer is unreal. i'm not trying to troll, but it is really unfortunate that most people have such a hard time with/don't enjoy music like this. blew.my mind. reminded me why i love music.
Is that Kelela singing?
Yes, she did guest vocals on this album. You can look it up on allmusic
9 years later I’m still confused why Tosin’s squeeze was on stage
Just yokoing
She sang on the album

Cant wait for this awesome album. Lingua Franca will be on my top 3. Tosin Abasi at his finest.
first time listening, 10 seconds into the video i see the line-up.... i literally have NO idea what to expect
right, an album is needed!
@Bitchcake You're right, my bad! I learned they're both releasing their albums the same day a couple of days after my post, haha. Looking forward to hearing (and eventually purchasing) both bands' albums!
IN LOVE WITH THIS GROUP
Holy shit this music is absolutely amazing.....
@gtocin87 Are you sure? Did he tell you that? I was recently informed that her name is Kelela Mizanekristos, and she actually did a video with Tosin in which she sung over Behaving Badly. I wasn't aware that she was his wife though...
This is just beautiful
T.R.A.M. and Trioscapes need to tour now!
is that the vocalist that did the Vocal line to Tempting time with Tosin?
@Beijejr T.R.A.M. (Terrazas Reyes Abasi Moore) so yes that's Eric Moore from Suicidal Tendencies
Thanks

@ronaldmcdonald333 i think the instrument you're referring to is a bass-clarinet.
This drummer is a beast
@DownSouthable In another band, I would agree, I think she's incredible, but this is meant to be an instrumental band. Obviously they wanted an extra layer that wasn't computer effects, and they picked her and she willingly wanted to do this. I would love for her to do more.... in another band or a solo project.
never thought i would see wind/brass instruments in a metal injection video
I wish Chris Barretto done the sax for this project instead - He moulds such tasty jams
This is so awesome
i wish i could see this live now.
I don't know what to call this. But I like it.
Eric Moore is fucking amazing. And his cousin is Thomas Pridgen, how is that family so amazing?
Never knew that
if that radio station have that group its the best radio station i've ever heard
love this song!
so cute baby kelela just keleling
NICE! i love it... what a combination!
@Manbagdeluxe She is Kelela Mizanekristos
i cried when i heard this.
I'm always torn on this issue. Tosin Abasi says that it's basically seen as a genre so he accepts as one, even though he doesn't consider Animals as Leaders as a djent band. But Misha Mansoor who basically popularized the term still doesn't recognize it as a genre.
what i wouldnt give to see these guys live with all that fucking energy
Whether it sounds good is a different matter. Thought saxes would sound best completely clean, but i suppose you can get some sounds that you can get with mutes without using mutes.
been wondering last couple of years, is there might be a new album?
Still slaps
T.R.A.M. and Jaga Jazzist need to do a U.S. tour!
Eric Moore back up vocals at 4:53!
OKAY tosin was playing this in one of his riff writing videos ...SO SICCCKKK
it's a custom shop ibanez rga8 hollowbody
Excellent!
three black people in one band, amazing
@Drangsland the cover of the album has this thing written on it
@jobkuizenga no you saw the video of when he was literally writing this song.
i wonder if the girl will actually sing on the album? im guessing they're using her for this show to fill in for those electronic choir parts that quite a few many AAL songs had, because i dont think she's actually in the band.... thoughts?
@NoaOno lol using the voice doesnt mean not instrumentals, depends the way you use it... the voice is an instrument you know.. zappa said he was using his as an instrument too
Tosin just plugs straight into the Axe-Fx? Woooooahhh that's dope.
THE BEST!
Is there a link where to download music of this band???
Does anyone know if they are planning anymore live shows?
defos my fave pop group ya
Pop? Really?
littlewahoo27 If this was what pop music was like, something tells me the world would be a much different place we live in.
Uhmm excuse me?
This is obviously melodic slam grindcore
@YouBelongToTheDead I'm trying to be a part of the future! I love Coltrane and Davis!! And i play metal and make my own music with their harmonies!
Epic. Simply epic. If only they didn't speed up.
hey i saw your comment and thought same thing so i went looking and found agile looks very similar except i didnt see a semi hollow body
that drummer owns
4:53 AHHHHHHHHHH!
Where is that synth like sound coming from, I don't see a keyboard. Is it Javier?
whos on drums Aarron spears or that other big guy from gospel chops?
this song is called Haas Kicker :)
fucking amazing
@rollinfever15 Drummer is Eric Moore from suicidal tendancies
this song is called Haas Kicker
It is an onomatopoeia. But even Tosin himself now has a video where he says he believes it has become a name for the genre. Search "Tosin Abasi on Djent" and listen to what he says.
@Jaxonbass I'm with you on this. The only problem with TRAM getting a bassist is that they have to come up with a new abbreviation for a name XD
What Ibanez model is Tosin playing, anyone who knows? Is it a real hollow body or just a painted F-hole?
Thats crazy if Thomas Pridgen would have had time for this... band. It would had been called T.R.A.P. far out man....
HAAS Kicker. Great song.
Well... that was fucking awesome.
Adrian Terrazas es la ostia¡¡¡
@Jaxonbass true, but they can tune the 8 strings really low
Wasn't Thomas Pridgen going to be the original drummer as well?
Drummer is such a beast!
Do you know who it is?
i really want to hear this with acceptable sound quality
@Periphery830 No im saying she should do more of what shes does in their songs!
whats this song called im going craazy!!!!!
wish the guitar volumes were louder!
Tosin Abasi considers it to be. But i agree with you. To me its just a specific tone or sound.
anyone know what guitar tosin is using?
The saxophone gives a more organic feel to the entire sound.
that was fuckin badass.
