I love your winter village display. I can see the many hours of work you put in to set it up. I would love to learn the advanced design techniques you used to set everything so well. The only thing that could make it better would be lights. Thank you for sharing! :)
@@MyGabster thanks for your comments! This is a few years old now, it's definitely advanced a bit, everything has lights, mountains in the background and many scenery upgrades! I have a slightly newer video on my channel that shows the original lighting. I need to update my channel with the latest version, it just takes time and Christmas is so busy!
Wow, just wow! This is the most beautiful winter village layout I have ever seen! Absolutely lovely! The use of white horn pieces in between layers of the small tree is so brilliant! Thanks for sharing this masterpiece!
Beautiful Winter Village, I like how you used horns at the base of the snow hill. Good use of a small place with many Lego sets and not too much details! 👍
Absolutely beautiful layout. I wouldn't even know where to begin to build something like this but I'm going to have to learn! I need mine to look like this!
I love love love this! I sadly just found out lego did these villages ( I only started doing lego in 2018) so I'm just now starting this year. I was able to get the fire station from my lego group and they made sure i'd be able to get the other two (gingerbread & elf clubhouse) but so excited to start this new set. Yours is lovely.
Thanks for the comments! Keep your eye out for deals on Facebook marketplace or local flea markets, you never know where you might find these. It takes time to get a village this size, I have been working on mine for 11 years!
Amazing. I'm just starting to think about my Christmas layout for this year and your wonderful winter wonder land is giving me a lot of ideas. Great job!
What a wonderful display. I just wish you took out your market and included it. I have all the sets too, and put them out every Christmas, but my display is NOTHING compared to what you have done. Do you have a favorite? Mine is Santa's Workshop, which, along with the Café Corner, is my most beloved Lego set. I think the Gingerbread House is not far behind.
Still my favorite! Assuming, since you are watching this video, you love Jason's design as much as I do... I started my own Winter Village display 2 years ago. The COST$ are not for the faint of heart, for sure! I have purchased many of the old sets, no longer in production, and bought extras when I had the chance in the hope I could possibly trade for other older sets that just keep going up in value and cost. Reply to this comment if interested in purchasing or trading NIB sets and I will reply with a link to the sets I am willing to part with, as I only desire to keep one set of each for my own display. In Oregon/Washington? Can possibly meet to trade/sell. Note: Some of these older sets were very expensive to acquire and I will not sell or trade at a loss, sorry. I even purchased some from other countries as I could not find local. Wishing you all a very Merry Lego Christmas and New Year!!!
Just stumbled upon this - beautiful village with many 'cool' ideas. How is the half-circle base of the railway done? Looks like a cut baseplate to me!?
I am thinking about replacing the firehouse with the new Santa's visit set. Not sure how it will fit. My space is maxed out! I do have some detail and lighting updates happening this year as well.
@@JasonPettyjohn The Santa’s Visit set will be the only Winter Village set I’ve ever gotten. For some reason I have just never gotten around to picking one up. Anyway, great display! 👍
if that's what you have on you're Christmas mantel, how you gonna top what you leave under the tree? even Lego Death Star and Bat Cave combined would fail in comparison.
Love it. Definitely an inspiration for me to build one like this. Do you mind sharing how you build the elevated platform ? Curious to know how you supported the buildings on top. Cheers mate
Beautiful collection, I'm collecting winter village series too, it is the best collection Lego offers. ( at least for me) I realized that you dont have the winter village market in your collection, wonder you dont want to buy it or you missed it ?
It's one of the many Christmas related items Lego has produced that I had to keep in storage due to space. It just doesn't really fit the theme of my village.
@@JasonPettyjohn i think christmas market would be better than gingerbread house or elf clubhouse. More realistic in my opinion. But your display is amazing anyway. Good job.
@@huseyinceven9038 thanks for the comments! I guess it depends on where you live, where I am, outdoor Christmas markets aren't really a thing, but they are in other parts of the world, like Europe. The gingerbread house is fantasy, but it's a huge traditional item around here!
Do you mind if I ask how you did the railway track overhang? Is it supported underneath or just the strength of the plates above? And what plates did you use to make it?
I started with a 32x32 white baseplate and cut 2 half's out of it with scissors. I marked out the radius and carefully cut it out and lightly sanded the edge. On top is 2 layers of interlocking plates and wedge plates, and the strength of that holds it all together very well. There are 2 16x16 plates that provide most of the strength in the overhang. It doesn't bend at all when the train travels over it.

I was fortunate to buy every set the year of release since 2009, so it hasn't cost me the retired set markup. I have seen some of these sets on Facebook marketplace for good deals. But your best bet is just buying the complete sets on Bricklink or eBay. The parts will cost more generally that the sets.

Insight on building the top layer stone?
It's all Lego bricks, lots of support structure underneath!
How high and wide is the back row? You did an amazing job on this. Really well done.
It's 19 bricks high and 20 studs deep. Thanks for the comment!

Store it away, I made it all modular, plus all the buildings are just sitting on tiles so it's easy to remove them. Rebuilding would take months!
