The instrument was not sitar, its called 'Sagar veena' and the lady playing 'Noor Zahra' is their mother. The instrument was invented by her father and I believe she is the only person in this World who can play that instrument.

Great to hear to listening to new type of music from other side of the world and ur expert take on it. This is one of the earliest sessions of Coke Studio, at that time production quality was maybe not as advance as today but the music was definitely great with its original producer and creator Rohail Hayyat.

Hey, if u want to hear Sufi, then listen to maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. There are others too, like Amanat Ali Khan, Sajjad Ali, Ali Azmat, they will blew u for sure.
And sry my mistake not taking the name of Abida Parveen a great Sufi singer.
Pakistan is in the middle of Central Asia, Middle East and Indian subcontinent, therefore our cultural influences are borrowed from all these surrounding cultures which can be seen in our poetry and music.

Bro everyone has his/her perspective. In my view, "Paar Channa de" is soothing, melodious, unique and the poetry & the story behind it alone takes it to another level. You can have your views but for me "Paar Channa de" is easily one of the best CS has to offer.
