Classy video gary on a stunning river in the most beautiful scenery . A top catch and it must make you wonder , no chub . Two salmon angler friends go quite a bit upstream close season chubbing , one had 15 a few weeks ago some over 4lb , but they are the only ones coarse fishing , so no pressure

Thank you. I fish the calder a lot and the darwen over the years, and you do catch big chub, but there like lone assassins. One may be two, then nothing.i must say that though the wigan stretch at elston and Red Scar are abundant with chub also, I think once the smaller fish get in on the act, it's harder to nail them. I think fishing big baits is a must and less maggot unless it's the darwen as in winters the darwen ide say is one of the best places I've fished for chub. Very exciting fishing at close quarters. Hopefully, be out worm n meat fishing the river soon. Contemplating buying a new microphone system for filming. Filming can be a pain in the arse because it can lose me fish. I lost a big fish on the calder last week, fannying around with a camera. Keep watching, and thanks for the support

@garywilliamsandmitsy good report gary you are blessed with exciting fishing , are you still a lymm member only ive tried to renew mine on the 2025 site with no success , the new one seems harder for me , I'm 75 and don't want ro lose it as I'm disabled , your friend Danny bellfield will know but I do not have any contact , I've tried the lymm websites with no answers

@ianroberts3948 ime no longer a member of lymm. I will be honest and say that the only waters I could fish with mitsy were very limited to what I wanted to do . And I felt very limited nor many waters I could take her on. I would contact the membership secretary bt e mail and voice your issue with hi. About how difficult it is to navigate their website for renewal. What type of fishing do you enjoy the most. River? Wild lakes or carp ?

It was a lovely day. It's funny that when I put headphones on when editing, I get to hear all the conversations the locals have. It can be better than fishing at times 😃

Enjoy watching your videos Garry looked a tough day. Was this yesterday you fished as I’m looking to float fish somewhere on the river tomorrow and was going to go to that stretch but it still looks a bit high there for the float.

Yer . Try n catch it in the morning. Check the gov.uk tides for whalley. There's a predicted level for tomorrow for calder but it's a good clue what rivers gonna do tomorrow further at ribchester

@@garywilliamsandmitsy you ever used bread mash n white maggot! I used it on Warrington stretch years ago in very cold clear conditions caught some odd catches,, ruff , dace , big chub n small barbel, trout , gudgeon, was a balance of how low a hook length you could use . , never had a dace net like that tho on feeder.

Yer bread flake works a treat on the calder at pissin billy. Chub love it. Ime thinking of fishing it more often. I did a film on the southport stretch doing the same. Had a few bream aswell in the ribble on tricky tides . I don't fish the feeder as much as I would like on the ribble
