The Tomo Surfboards Vader has returned, but now with the addition of the Vee Quad Concave hull design and in the Dark Arts construction and we are STOKED. Tomo strongly feels the Vader 2.0 is “the fastest surfboard design in modern surfing” and will level up the surfing of anyone who rides it.
A fresh perspective on perhaps the most ‘disruptive design in modern surfing’ VADER V2 is set to make another major stir with optimisation of the outline, bottom contour and nose entry curves.
This ‘ultra-high performance’ design once again defies traditional logic and offers an incredibly intuitive ride quality, effortless rail to rail transitions and an almost supernatural acceleration through turns.
Despite the tiny dimensions, the rectangular outline combined with the deep spine like nature of the Vee bottom, provide a balanced volume distribution under the chest for comfortable paddling and great wave catching, while still maintaining a fine rail profile for sensitive rail control.
How to size it - For good surfers looking for maximum performance: Size Vader V2 at 5-6 inches shorter than customers standing height (or equal to the tip of ones nose) same volume as lowest functional comfortable level or minus 1L from a traditional performance shape.
What fins? - Fin-wise it’s set up as a 5 fin, but really its best ridden as a quad.
Faster - Carbon Fibre is fast reacting and creates spring, unlike traditional fiber-glass cloth. The result of this natural rebound is speed.
Stronger - Hand crafted, vacuum bagged, carbon fiber cloth, over 2lb EPS stringer-less foam, for optimum, flex, weight and durability. Dark Arts surf continues to redefine the limits for how surfboards are shaped and constructed.
Lighter - Dark Arts’ process has created a product that sits in the lighter category of most constructions available on the market. They’re not just writing a new chapter - this is an entirely different book.

I pretty much only surf Tomos. The speed is addicting. My go to now is the Cymatic in Volcanic construction. I have a Dark Arts Inferno 72, but don’t use it so much.
Got to ride Todd’s Tomo in Molokai, pretty rad!

How will it compare to a pyzel phantom with dark arts construct
@@jacksonbartusick7406 both are completely different boards so will ride differently , but the DA construction will add more speed, durability, and a certain springy pop to maneuverers which other constructions could not
Weird back in 1997 i designed a short board to be used like a skateboard . It looked just like the one in video. Like a wakeboard. However I had three prototypes ridden by some great surfers here in Ventura..first one I was teamed up with Fletcher chouinard from Patagonia tried using recycled blanks etc. and board had two glassed on kick pads basically and a trail fin in front so fakey ...actually worked . Second board I experimented with candy paints metal flake ..like lowriders .. but although the paint job was ghost flames and skullz and looked way rad .. seemed like a big shiny fishing lure... Uh no thanks. Third board I got together with a co worker who was a brainiac builds his own computers flies drones for special ops.. anyways he came up with the golf ball theory .. the holes .. it's what make them sail fly .. speed .. so after several different size grids on bottom of boards big .small. spacing
.. holy smokes all the pre team riders were super stoked .. so far out in front of waves without more than one pump ..just effortlessly shot like a rocket across face.. and turns ..well like the one in video .. not a fish but a high performance shortboard surfing 4-6 ft waves .. the guys surfing ghem were able to perform what they had in there heads judos, Ollie's,shuvits , oh and thee biggest airs!! Forgot another feature was like hand rails kind of indentations for your fingers to grab board .. not going to give ALL the things I came up with but those were the basics . What happened? Got a investor had all the contracts done up lawyers shaping machines. . It got messy . But when I first just saw that board ... Reminded me of 1997 ..

Wonder what the glass job is like! My El Tomo was the worst glass job I have ever seen.
My own fault I should have gone over it more prior to buying it in the shop.
El Tomo would have been Firewire construction. This is Dark Arts construction. Nothing to do with Firewire and glass job is superb!

@@sama5946 yep but that is still a Firewire issue ,totally different boards and different construction to this one. Not to mention a different country :)
Dark Arts is very durable. Some FireWires, not so much. My volcanic cymatic has been super solid.

Also try a Chine rail for better speed on choppy faces ✔️
I preferred the vanguard, but I am pretty sure my Vader was too big for me.
