- I recorded this on my ancient (even then) Betamax that weighed about as much as a compact car. I'm still surprised FGTH never released a live home video, and at the time THIS was the only live performance I had ever seen from them. Although I wasn't yet familiar with any of these songs, I loved it. Hope you will, too, despite it not having aged very well.
I isten to Liverpool almost daily.... bought the album when I was 11 in 1986. Loved it then, love it even more now. Liverpool's message and content is as accurate of Britain then as it is now. The themes are universal. A masterpiece in my book.
One of the best bands. Holly is amazing live ❤
Listened to both their albums thousand times in a couple of decades. Fuck yeah. So wonderful!
I was there!
It’s fantastic.
This is so good. Liverpool is a truly wonderful album, shame it all flopped back then.
Fantastic Drums throughout. A big influence on me as a young drummer. Ped Gill, great job!
00:00 Lunar Bay
05:05 Rage Hard
10:18 Warriors of the Wasteland
80's forever
Hello, this video is extraordinary, certainly one of the rare ones where FGTH is not in backtracking.
I grew up with this group and almost all the videos are backtrack. Rumors say that before the first album, the musicians didn't know how to play and had to learn quickly.
There, I guarantee real voices and real instruments, thank you for this nugget
I can see Brian Nash and his brother playing together, never see it before
I love my Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath, etc. But these guys were such a breath of fresh air! Amazing musicians 👍
What a great band. Best live version of WOTWL I've heard.
So much thank you for this ! Incredible band. Nobody, no band reached their talent, event U2. I miss them. Was and still am big fan of FGTH. 80'sssssss ;-)
Unfortunately Liverpool is a very underestimated album. Thanks for sharing this rare live recording.
These guys were so cool!! thanks for posting.
wow! i was obsessed with FGTH all thru high school. never got to see them live, and this random search on 10-30-20 just showed me what an awesome live band they really were! thanks for posting this!
They were a huge massive live band Better than on records
@@corradottmk1 Abso ..LUTELY!!!
This is grooving GROOVING !!!!!!!
Very great! ❤
Thank you so much for this! 😘
Love this !! and Holly’s last album Europa. The sun ☀️ will shine again in particular. 😀
OMG - thank you. I recorded my version from the tube at the time on the earlier performance. I recorded on VHS that has long been lost. I only recorded lunar bay and rage hard as that was all they showed until 7pm. I never knew they did warriors until today 17/5/2020 like 30+ years later. Masses of thanks you are amazing
This performance was probably from the programme's era where they showed an extended repeat on the Sunday following the initial shorter Friday transmission.
Holly 👍💜👣frankie rule!
Best group ever - thanks for the upload! 🙂
Too bad the singer left the band. He had an amazing voice!!
Unique FGTH trevorn is the king Of 80´s
Thanks for the upload Mr David anything related to ZTT is the Holy Grail for me.
Thanks for the upload Mr David
Thanks for this. There are a few versions of this performance on here but this is the only complete one I've found. It even has the Stan Boardman bit in Lunar Bay! And added silly string😁
Oh my god!, thank you so much for this, me and my friends were the ones who did the silly string!! The lads always played pranks on us fans so it was a revenge prank. We loved FGTH so much, that was a long coach ride up to Newcastle from London 😍
@@joannab1686 Oh wow, what an amazing story! Tell me more about the pranks they played on fans(bet it was Mark!) sounds like you saw them a lot? It's such a shame most of them aren't talking to each other these days
@@katethomas5712 Thanks, I followed FGTH a lot, we all lived in London so it was easy meeting bands. The lads started pranks by throwing water at us from the roof of Sarm West Studios one Summer. We went to all the TOTP’s and other tv show recordings, airports, concerts, rehearsal studios like The Depot and Easyhire. Can’t believe it was over 35 years ago!! Thank you so much for posting as ITV only showed Rage and Lunar Bay, how did u get this?
@@joannab1686 I can't take the credit for posting this, I'm just a viewer! Sounds like you had a lot of fun in the 80's, I was still at primary school! It has been a long time, seems like yesterday in some ways
@@katethomas5712 sorry, got confused. Just great to see this as we didn’t have phones never mind smartphones 📱 back then so I only have a few photos and a VHS tape to remind me 😀
Great Video
I actually recorded this on Betamax tape & ended selling my recording with my collection of tapes. But I had a friend who also recorded it & I also have FGTH Lon MTV’z NYE party. Now that wuz a super show!! Duran Duran joins them on stage.
upload it you copulating roger hunt
I think they were too good for that audience…
Lunar Bay was such an underrated track! The live version was better than the album version. This was the album which should have shut up the critics who said the band couldn't play. And here they are playing live! A shame they split because they had their best work ahead of them.
Intelligent people chose Betamax, gullible people chose VHS. That's just the way it was.
Love this performance. Ped chooses his own tempo and fucks everyone up, until they resign to the fact they need to dance to his rhythm. Best band ever. We'll be free! Rage Hard.
Oh, and Furries in the mosh pit! Before they were even a thing! Gen X, hold your head up high! ❤️
So everyone I knew back then, myself included, were not intelligent or/and gullible because we chose VHS?
Hmmm....................
Yup, Holly was behind my tie chic
Never saw WOTW from this Show 👀
Troppo forti 💜
👍🕺🏻Paul Rutherford🕺🏻👍
1st time i hear lunar bay
Wow and Re-wow
There a remix can exist in RUclips ?
A mix between ""warrior"" & "two tribes ""
💖💖💖
Backing track
Not exactly. Some click tracks and sequenced parts, obviously, (I can't imagine a Trevor Horn production replicated live without a 100pc orchestra and perhaps a marching band) but everyone on stage are playing and singing their parts live.
TREVOR HORN ON SYNTH ?
No. Just someone else with big glasses.
Ok bro Thx
@@haroldvaison Actually probably Peter Oxendale.
is that Trevor Horn on keyboards ?
I think it might be Peter Oxendale although I can't be 100% certain about that but I am certain it's not Trevor Horn.
:-)
@@NOWtheband thank you :-)
a load of crap
@@Kennynwten Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to comment in such a creative and well thought out way!
