Great job on porting the exhaust header for extra horsepower gain, wrapping the exhaust header with heat wrap, installing the correct Toyota OEM valve cover gasket, and refinishing the valve cover with a nice paint job! Revamping the exhaust system after the exhaust header was also good. I own a 2003 Matrix XRS and it was a good video for learning how to work on the Vibe GT/Matrix XRS vehicle itself and the 2ZZ-GE engine. Your workshop is awesome with the lift, welding equipment, and well stocked with proper mechanic/fabrication tools. Your mechanical & fabrication skills are on point.
Nice! You do good work 👊. Wish I had a shop and a lift but regardless I was thinking of tackling the porting of the header at some point. Other than removing valve cover and a lot of penetrant and patience....any other tips on header removal? Perhaps tying it in with some other reason to get in there like yourself haha. I've got 90k miles on my Corolla XRS so things aren't looking too leaky yet but peace of mind with the lift bolts is a good reason and Insurance 👍
@@ericlindsey1708 it's pretty straight forward, they leave you just barley enough room to do it, but I was pretty surprised mine wasn't more difficult than it was.
@DJsHotRodFab yeah it's always nice when it works out that way isn't it 👍. I've only changed an alternator on my 2ZZ and I changed just the belt tensioner pulley only ( proprietary Toyota bolt head ) ....that was kind of a bastard to do 🤣

@@Hamer95USA thanks!
Good tip, 5 HP from the exhaust manifold grind + 5 hp by porting /polishing the intake manifold = 10hp now we're talking.
