    The fact they they can control their "narcissistic personality disorder" maladaptive behaviors around certain individuals and in certain environments but can't seem to control it in the privacy of their home speaks volumes.

    I dated a narcissist for a couple of years. He practically moved himself onto my home. He had me convinced that what we had was true love. I was thinking about marrying him one day. I am so glad I got out instead! It was really hard to leave, but it was the best thing I could have done for myself. It's been over two years now. Since I left him I lost over 15 pounds, got a degree, started another degree,and learned to love myself. I never could have done that with him in my life. I feel awful for those stuck in these relationships. I pray that one day they make it out to experience again what life is like when the narcissist is no longer sucking all the energy out of them. The life they desrve.

      I typically don’t comment (just watch videos for knowledge and support and move on) but I need prayers and support as well. I’m recently married and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl with a narcissist and I’m in pain daily. I was purposefully single for years (preparing myself for marriage) and he came along and swept me off of my feet. Now I feel depleted and ready to run because of the mental and emotional abuse. I’ve already told him that I will not remain in the marriage feeling miserable for the sake of our daughter. It isn’t fair to her and she deserves a healthy environment just as much as I do. Now I have to put a plan in place to leave because unfortunately I don’t see it getting any better. I’m sending up prayers to anyone whose suffering in silence and anyone that’s trying to find the strength, courage, and means to get out.

    "Mean, hateful, and evil" sounds like the correct description. I certainly experienced that with my ex-"husband". Fortunately we had a relatively problem-free divorce (no assets, no children), but a few years later I got sucked back in and now the monster is back in my life through the help and support of my narc mother. Never let your guard down with these monsters, no matter how nice they may seem (it's all an act).
    I'm making my way out now, after the monster destroyed even more than in the first round and left a barren, charred landscape in ruins from what he didn't manage to destroy initially. I've learned my lesson: "When somebody shows you who they are, believe them the first time".

    Being a narcissist is spiritual. It's genetic pass through a generation curse. It's a evil curse that's over that person's life. That's why its so hard to understand the person. You're actually dealing with a spirit.

    • @gayajay
      @gayajay 4 года назад +3

      HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU BRING SPIRIT INTO THIS. Have you ever considered the slight possibility that there might be other factors that contribute to the behavior? I HAVE AUTISM. My brain is wired differently than most other peoples. There are gaps in the transmission of mirror-neurons in my brain chemistry that result in an inability to express empathy without some form of stimulus.
      I have dedicated countless hours in therapy and special education and PRAYER to developing better habits so that I can be more like neurotypicals like you.
      But NTs, like you, who suffer from major cranial rectal inversion syndrome think that they can go labeling others (like me) as "narcissist" and then have the audacity to speak on behalf of spirit.

    I'm so happy to be out of the marriage with the narc. He cried & complained for over 20 years about a prom date who he found in his car getting it on with 2 guys. The girl was JUST a prom date! Hearing him talk, he was in love with her, she might have married him. Boo-hoo-hoo. 20 years later he was STILL talking about it. I had counselors talk to him about his self centered attitude. He would start going to a counselor of his choice. Then? When the counselor disagreed with him? He'd stop going. Finally, I'd had enough of the manipulation instead of an adult conversation. I'd had enough of his hiding large purchases, then bitching about the amount of money I spent on groceries ti feed a family of 6. It all became too much. Divorcing a narcissist brings relief more than anything.

I have to be asking him for permission to go out and if I don’t it’s a total meltdown and if I do call him to tell him where I’m gonna be at he is like “I don’t care I’m busy” like seriously. At the hospital when I gave birth he told me to hurry up and heal because he wanted to go home, when we left the hospital he make me carry the car seat because he didn’t want to make several trips to take our stuff the car. It’s a lot and I don’t think I have more patience for this!

Yet, Narcs love torturing their partner, making you feel small, belittling you, hurting you, etc. Not to mention the victim was probably serious about their vows (in good and bad times, until death), not knowing they would be emotionally tortured their entire marriage. You are trying to relate in a normal way and under normal circumstances, the person would care about your likes and dislikes, however, in this situation, he will use the things you have told him against you. I knew people like this and only shared what I had to, or things that they could not hurt me with. I prepared myself for them to try. I completely understand! My husband falls into this category. When we initially were married, I thought that I was losing my mind. I couldn’t believe what was happening or what I was doing incorrectly. All of this time I thought that I was losing my mind. I am on antidepressants and I kept wondering why I am so depressed. I believe it is that I have lost myself completely because my thoughts and desires really don’t matter.

    • @daisy1240
      @daisy1240 4 года назад +4

      @@srsrichmond513 I totally understand. Once I knew who he really was, I studied everything about narcissism and dealt with him as required. Now he has no power over me. I have no fear at all. I refuse to be bullied. I show him I have a mind of my own. I put my foot down in a very tactful way. No arguments no fighting. Just as I had read and told deal with thse types. We still live together but he has lost his grip and behaves well. When he tries to get a foot in, I take out my tactics. Luckily, I never succumbed completely to his vices. I am sometimes how I didn't go totally crazy, when I look back. I still don't trust him to this new version of himself. O ce bitten twice shy, right?

    • @srsrichmond513
      @srsrichmond513 4 года назад +1

      Daisy I completely failed. I never knew people were like this. He would hide my keys when I was doing something he didn’t want me to do such as getting my hair fixed. When I had a meeting that I was late coming home from work he hit my car and dented it. Crazy

    • @daisy1240
      @daisy1240 4 года назад +2

      @@srsrichmond513 Hiding things and making me look for them like I was the careless one was one of his favorites, too. Yes, keys, too. Like, I said, once I figured him out, I kept everything hidden from his reach. It took me 23 years. I became free in 2015. One thing he used to constantly say was, "I just can't make you obey me". Well, he did, in many ways. For the children's sake , I had to, at the time. Unknowingly, I used to use the same tactics that I have been advised to use, every now and then, but not to the fullest extent, as l didn't know about narcissism, back then. I still wish for many things but I am content now. At least I survived and didn't require medications. It's a miracle. My prayers for you, dear friend. I feel your pain. I still get caught up in the past but I don't let it control me. I have a future. You, too, honey. You are a strong woman. Be brave. Prayer helps. I learnt a lot from my experience. He was unable to bend the children like he did me because I just wouldn't allow it. He was an alcoholic, too. Today, he doesn't drink, he underwent de-addiction treatment, he was treated for his psychological problems for a year and he is normal on the outside. He claims that he knows I suffered a lot. But the sad thing about our marriage is I am unable to trust and love him anymore. He doesn't bring out his old self on me anymore but I can't trust him

    • @ImAlwaysMe
      @ImAlwaysMe 5 месяцев назад +1

      I hope you figured this out... if you're still interested in suggestions, 1. Trust yourself 2. Realize how much power you have. Your child will be better off in a healthy environment, even if that means you by yourself. If you put your children around toxicity, you risk their mental health being negatively impacted. That said, it is healthy to try to work things out, but it is unhealthy to beat a dead horse. The difference is the results of your efforts. If your concerns are heard and you see a change for the better, then it's worth being patient for your child. However, if your concerns are only validated for a short period of time, then back to toxicity, then you know it was all just an act. If they treat you like crap, they are not going to treat your child any differently. If you're still together, put money to the side for you and your baby in case anything happens. Keep receipts for the things you are buying for your child and any bills you are paying. If your child is enrolled in childcare, make sure you do the paperwork for everything, so if you ever need to get full or primary custody, all of the proof is already there. Good luck my friend

    Get over this. I know a pretty nice woman who is angry and permanently damaged from being with a man like this. So she constantly talks about other people, gets in their business JUST SO SHE CAN JUDGE THEM to make herself feel better about her own personal anger that is consuming her. She's damages in a very basic way. I don't have time for anger and you cannot tell this person anything about herself because, see, that's how Narcissists work! They learn from one another
