Hello Dirk; Thank you for visiting FFV again. I believe that it is this perspective that fascinates me about aerial work. Greetings to you from Ontario. James/FFV. Hallo Dirk; Vielen Dank für Ihren erneuten Besuch bei FFV. Ich glaube, es ist diese Perspektive, die mich an der Luftarbeit fasziniert. Grüße aus Ontario. James/FFV.
Hi BBR; Thank you so much my friend. I am very happy that you enjoyed this one, and I was glad to have the chance to put a spotlight on this branch line action. The work of switching out the mill and plant there goes on almost every day of the week. Cheers. James/FFV.
Hello again Wolfgang; Thanks for commenting my friend and for viewing. This subdivision has some interesting customers and I hope to film some more of them. I actually just stumbled onto a fellow YT Creator today who has plans to model this subdivision including the mine and drywall plant. His channel is SOR_CN Hagersville Subdivision. Stay safe . Cheers from Ontario. James/FFV.
Hi CTF; Thank you so much for this most generous praise. We try for stunning, sometimes we get close. lol. I am glad that this release was enjoyable. Stay safe. Enjoy the Ont opening. James/FFV.
Hey Gstar; Great to hear from you once more !! Thank you for your kind comment bro. I agree with you and I do sometimes feel that industrial switching action sometimes doesn't get the focus that it deserves, and I am as guilty as anyone for not doing more films of that type. Glad that you enjoyed it. Stay safe. Cheers. James/FFV.
Great footage! Right in my own backyard! I really like the drone footage at CGC; gives a whole new perspective that normally isn’t visible to the public. There’s actually another siding on the other side of the road crossing towards Hagersville, but I’m sure if it’s used at all anymore. This honestly is some awesome footage! It’s definitely going to help me with my lay out build! (Just an FYI; pretty sure it’s 580? I thought 550 ran up near Ingersol or something?)
Hello SOR_CN; Thank you for visiting and commenting. You might well be correct on the train number. I asked the crew that day, but I could have misheard. Right now I am watching your layout plans video while answering comments. Totally awesome project !!! FYI the little industry you first spoke of after Esso is ESM - Optra Group. They are a steel industry supplier providing desulphurising agents, defluxing agents etc. for steel makers. Until your comment I was unaware of your channel. Being in this area myself I will be following your layout build with interest. I have today sub'd you. Stay safe. Cheers. James/FFV.
Thank you!!! I’ve always been interested in ESM; it’s a funny/ random little industry located in between two giants. I’m from this area, and have watched trains here ever since I’ve been a little guy. It’s been my dream project to model this area an I’m so excited to finally make it happen. We should be moved into our new place this fall and I’m hoping to start bench work on it as well. As a bonus, I’ll be able to see Garnet Yard from my upstairs bed room!
550 has become 580, and they run every day in places in southern Ontario, particularly near Brantford. 402 is now 502, and 502 gets on to the Hagersville sub around 8, and into Garnet around 11-12. 501 leaves Garnet around 12:30 in the morning, and hits Brantford around 2 or 3.
Dear Friend. I apologize for the delayed acknowledgement of your kind comment. I have been away filming and I have just returned today. Thank you for your visit, Jonathon. The schedule varies a lot. A year ago you could almost set your watch by 402's crossing the Grand River at mile 18 - usually somewhere between 8 and 930 am. The return to London was usually at night - perhaps in the 2 to 3 am range from my observations. Then for a period it was all over the map for timings. Recently it seems as if it has reverted to the old time frames. 550 leaves Brantford after 402 clears the junction there to allow it clear passage to Nanticoke. I would say that 500's work south of the Grand River takes maybe an hour only, and then you'll see it recross the bridge at Caledonia on the return run to Brantford. Hope that helps a little. James.
Hello HY; Thank you for your comment. Clearing Signal: The short answer is I do not know. If I has to speculate, however, I'd say your theory is a great one. Using GE ruler tool it appears that as the train pushed south back towards the crossing they stopped around 100-150 metres north of the crossing. Without walking the track there [or being a signal tech] it is difficult, maybe impossible, to say for certain this would clear the signal bells. As for my on the spot observation at that spot I can't recall when the bells stopped as I was too busy piloting.
@@FrogandFlangeVideo yeah. Hard to say where the circuit is set. Here many are set for 30-50mph from the old day’s. So the lights run a long time from a distance. They are in the process of still shortening some of the circuits due to our long time 10mph slow order
this was awesome had to watch this while eating dinner very long at 6:35 what is the radio noise and at 7:12 whats that green line on the rails also did you have to change your drone battery?
Hello once more Silverado; Thanks for visiting this channel again. You always have such observant questions and I appreciate that. Radio noise at 6:35 - I generally have my radio scanner with me to listen to the chatter on the railway frequencies. Some times there can be buzzing and brief interference sounds and we do hear this around the time you mentioned. Green line on rails at 7:15 - I am not certain what you are referring to here Battery change - Yes; my batteries could last up to 20 to 30 minutes depending on how strong the wind is or how gusty it is. So for this film I did go through a few batteries. Thanks for the interesting questions. I am always happy to answer to you. Cheers bro. James.
@@FrogandFlangeVideo thanks for responding James once again enjoyed the video so at 7:15 when you look at the nose of the blue GTX engine looking at the screen look right there is a green painted line on the railway tye thanks
@@silverado15 Well I'll be darned, so there is. I see it now. I really do not know what that green paint on the tie is about. Perhaps it is a recently replaced tie with a different colour preservative ???? Cannot say. Cheers. James.

I am quite curious how you have sound with the drone video. Mine has no sound, as they say all the sound would be is propeller noise.
Love the action on the industrial line, we have one here too. They're pretty cool

Would the back up move at 9:24 be to clear the crossing circuit at 4th line? How long was the train?
