Hi Dave. Thank you very much. It is disappointing about DJI and it occassionally hampers efforts to obtain the most complete overview of the action on the ground. With Canada's online system for determining where airspace drone restrictions exist with pretty fair precision, it is sometimes frustrating that the drone itself overrides one's personal knowledge of the situation. Stay safe, and kindest regards to you all . James.
Hello JamesB. Thank you very much James. This was my first experience with G&ERR; it is a fair drive for me and I felt that it was high time to make the trek and check it out. It is one of a very few short lines in Ontario and it was worth it. I hope that you enjoy Parts 2 through 5 - each of those features some aerial footage which I could not obtain in Goderich. cheers. JamesS.
Great filming, James, of the shunting work of the two diesel locomotives, as well as the pickup of a hopper train. Branch lines like the Goderich & Exeter Railroad are always interesting. Thanks for the great video and have a great week and best wishes, Wolfgang
Grüße an dich, Wolfgang. James.
Very good video, James! Nice to watch the shunting work as the train is put together, and great sound as the hopper train is going up the grade. Have a good day. Dirk
Mint video, James. Thanks for posting. I was just there and in Hensall yesterday. Lot’s of rolling stock but no locos. They must’ve been up Stratford way. Maybe next time. Cheers, Nik.
Hi Nik. Thanks for visiting once again; and I am very happy that enjoyed today's episode. Over the next few weeks we'll document this trains journey back to Stratford. Stay safe. James.
Hi James. Great video. My 1st visit to Goderich was in 2002/3 era when 4 units were used to pull salt hoppers up the grade, combining Geeps & F units ( now on OSR ) they put on an awesome show. I do believe the grade is in the 4 - 5 % range, one of the steeper grades in eastern Canada. Do you know if the tank cars are in storage? Is the track crossing the road at the yard still in service? It used to serve the Volvo heavy equipment plant, that shipped road graders by rail. Thank you for sharing. ( Rick )
Hi Rick. It was quite exciting to watch the action on the grade and to hear the prime mover effort needed to tackle the job. I am uncertain about the use of tanks out along the line including Goderich. Possibly some ag related matter ?? Or perhaps just storage ??? Thanks Rick. Alway great to hear from you. James.
Hi Bruce. Thanks for visiting, and for your kind comment. Usually daily ? As for many short lines, though, what happens on a given day is probably unpredictable. It requires considerable driving from our area but I think that it was worth it. James.
@@FrogandFlangeVideo Yes, I was thinking it was quite a hike from home. I sometimes go 2 or 2 1/2 hours from home in a day, but I think that is even farther. But yes, it was so cool to watch. I know what you mean about short lines. Like the OSR. Yes, it runs daily, but when? 2 cars or 12? Where?
Hi Rich. Nice to hear from you once again ! Some of those mill style gons have seen a lot of hard use, so no camera problem that day. I suspect that they are limited to travel on the G&WRR, and that they may be for mow use ?? Just my amateur guesses. Thank you, my friend. James.
Nicely covered James! Too bad about the drone coverage! (Dave).

Great work my friend enjoyed it Nice to see the yard end of operations from time to time

Nice contrast between freight trains and clear blue sky.
Have a great weekend, James.

Great video James. The GEXRis a railroad I have never even thought of trying to catch. Not sure if they run daily, or when.

@@Bhil3 Yeah . lol. of all the uncertainties, where is the biggest .
Nice footage James. Are some of the gons @ 8:00 badly bowed or a camera prob? Reminds me of a horse I rented many years ago.

@@FrogandFlangeVideo Thanks James. Now I will try to figure out how to replicate this in my HO layout. Heat gun maybe.
