This channel will share with you the railroad videos that I have enjoyed recording. Most of these will be based in and around Ontario Canada where I live.
Inspiration for what I do is partly based on watching the excellent video productions of the very many talented video makers in North America, in India, in the UK and in Europe.
Canada has two principle nationwide railway companies. Both the Canadian National Railway and Canadian Pacific Railway provide Canada with coast to coast freight service. CNR has significant operations in the USA down to tidewater at the Gulf of Mexico. CPR ‘s USA operations cover the northern states and extend from Maine to New York City and more.

Love it, James! Now I want to hang out at the pedestrian bridge again. I don’t live far away. I used to take my kids there on Saturdays when they were nippers. We’d get subs or Macky Ds and make a picnic out of it. Free entertainment like when I was a kid in Manchester.

Hi James, excellent video once again. I have visited the CN yard in St Thomas many years ago, from the east side and never knew the bridge was that close to the yard. I think the Payne Sub was abandoned just after Ford closed it Talbotville plant in 2011. I thought CN had completely given up on St Thomas at that time. Guess I should make another trip soon. I wonder about 4717's heritage, CN ordered all their GP38-2s with Canadian Comfort Cabs ( wide nose ) so is it possibly ex Northern Alberta Railway? Obviously it's been CN for a long time with the Sargent Stripes. Happy Thanksgiving ( Rick )

Great video, James! It's a thing that we experience in many places - much of the railway infrastructure is no longer needed, and then it is either sold or demolished. This station building looks beautiful. It could still do well for a regional transit hub with 4 or 5 lines - as long as it is close enough to the town or city that it serves. Have a good Sunday. Dirk

Ich glaube, Via Canada hat dort eine Art Verkaufskiosk/Warteraum. Was den Rest des Raums angeht - ich weiß es wirklich nicht. James.

Trotz ihres Aussehens führen beide kanadischen Eisenbahnen der Klasse 1 planmäßige Brückeninspektionen durch, die von Bauingenieuren durchgeführt werden. Das ist beruhigend. Obwohl man es nicht sehen kann (weil ich am östlichen Ende des Bahnsteigs stand), war der Bahnsteig voll mit Reisenden, die darauf warteten, in diesen letzten westwärts fahrenden Zug der Nacht einzusteigen. Ich vermute, dass die meisten in der Stadt waren, um sich eine epische Aufführung von Hans Zimmer anzusehen. Pass auf dich auf. James.
This is a great little compilation. You're right. VIA always comes to the rescue on the Kingston Sub. Those Siemens trainsets are quiet. I'm glad that one didn't sneak up on you.
