Hi James. I am particularly glad that you enjoyed this one. It was without any doubt one of the most authentic, in terms of atmosphere, railroad museums I've had the pleasure to visit. Fun Fact: When the museum staff spoke of the Sierra Railroad mainline running through the property there I thought it was not still active. But in relooking at the extent of the Sierra trackage the other day (again GE) I found to my great surprise that active trackage runs further up slope to service what looks to be a sizeable forest products plant. James.
A very nice tour to the HISTORIC SIERRA RAILROAD SHOP, great old machines and a very nice roundhouse with turntable. The beautiful locomotives from Shay, Motor Car 19, the Mikado #34 and the many diesel locomotives are fantastic. Everything looks so lifelike. Thank you for the great tour of the museum, my friend James. I wish you a nice week and best wishes, Wolfgang
Grüße an dich, Wolfgang. James.
Hi Dave. I must say that this was one of the most amazing historical railroad related sites that I have ever visited. Just fantastic ! I wish you all a great weekend. James.
Wow! Really nice video! Although I will never be able to visit it in person, this video really captures the spirit of this RR. Thank you for posting it!
Hi Jeff. I am really glad that you got to enjoy this historic site, if only from our video of it. So happy that the State took the necessary action to preserve it. Thank you for your visit and comment. James.
Greetings to Japan my friend.

There are fan-shaped train depots like this in Japan too.
But, shame that they're becoming less common.
Have a nice Sunday.
