Thank you. I get mad at blender and yell at it because I'm new at it and it doesn't do what I expect. I have been trying to figure out uses for the three D cursor. This makes me feel pretty dumb, but I'm teachable.
Mostly used the screw modifier for the lathe purposes or did a skin modifier on a curve to make pipelines. Never used this tool before, but after this video i definitely start using this. It looks more controllable then the options i just mentioned and it looks to me like a faster way to create the same results. It is a more destructive way then using modifiers, but if you have planned out your design before creating any parts in blender, this is a time saver in my opinion. Thanks for this tip.
Thanks for the well-explained tutorial. I use this one for architectural modeling, where the designer created straight walls with attached round rooms that are partial circles. Especially helpful was the info for moving, expanding, changing the circle after drawing it.
The big advantage is the continuous editing and setting pivot points with the 3d cursor. But it needs a bit more practice to set the point to get the wanted effect. At least much better than tinker with empties in a modifier.
It would be great if you use keyboard tracker. I'm just a novice. How do you shift the direction of the Y axis? And how to do you lift the spin like in the videos? Mine just spins on the mesh itself.
Wondering if it's possible to use the spin tool as a shape key or not. I think I saw somewhere that you can't add new geometry with shape keys but if I can, that would be next level.
Hi great work again, can you do one of spinning a wheel? Easier way please as I'm learning, saw one where the guy used the animation video, but could not follow as there was no talking just quick video showing off without explanation.. lol thanks
Thanks for the info! Very useful. I'd love to see how the Spin Tool could be used with curve drawing to model cylindrical objects that have a varying wall thickness--sometimes thick, sometimes totally solid. It would be great for modelling transparent or translucent wine bottles and long-stem glasses, starting with a line drawing tracing the profile from an imported photo. Please, please, please!!!
5:47 - Is there a way to move the point at which the "pipe" bends. For instance, I have a pipe that is 10" and then when I spin it creates additional length to the pipe. Is there a way to spin and constrain it to the current length?
He explains parts of it on 0:40. using the snapping tools he can place the cursor on the middle of an edge. moving the cursor with shift+right click. he probably went to top view first though to place it on the middle edge (he didn't show this in the video, the cursor was the beforehand).
I need more practice with archipack , I'm replaying your videos. Ally of unanswered questions, mostly because the tutorials on Stephens channel are 3 years old .
Hi everyone! Let me know what you're using the Spin Tool for in the comments down below! :)
Thank you. I get mad at blender and yell at it because I'm new at it and it doesn't do what I expect. I have been trying to figure out uses for the three D cursor. This makes me feel pretty dumb, but I'm teachable.
I like the way you explain in every tutorial, very clear and detailed so that everyone can catch up!! Thank you a lot!!
Glad you like them!

Spin tool is a lifesaver but you're a lighthouse in my 3d modelling journey. THANK YOU!
Whenever i need search smth this dude helps me out ! Superb Tut as always !!

Man, you’re so good
Just want to say thanks for these vids! They explain things so well!
Thanks so much this is gonna make my thrusters look so much better
Sweet! :)
This saves so much headache when building pipe structures!
I've never used this tool before but it looks powerful.
Very well explained, thanks :)
Thanks! Was having trouble changing the axis of the spin for my gun model 🔫
Useful video. Great!
I think this is going to be a great tool to create bow and other weapon with interesting curve tube shape.
Thank you so much for this!
Very nice, thanks
One of the cool tools that is not unfinished. Unlike the Extrude manifold which could have a game changer for direct modeling.
Good information 🇦🇶
Thank you so much!!!!!

Toujours excellent merci

Clear!!! Thnx! Just one question! - it is possible to animate SPIN?
Not sure - not in the way that you're thinking, but it might be possible with geometry nodes and curves?

I like how the first thing everyone makes with these lathe tools is a very butt plug like object.
How do you add the 3D Cursor?
Hi. 4:35 Can you explain how to locate 3D cursor exactly on the corner of the object or on the center of the edge? What is the command for this?
He explains parts of it on 0:40. using the snapping tools he can place the cursor on the middle of an edge. moving the cursor with shift+right click. he probably went to top view first though to place it on the middle edge (he didn't show this in the video, the cursor was the beforehand).
@@quadgon Thank you!
Does anybody know how to make the active tool window visible, the one in the lower left corner in the screen?
Another damn fantastic tutorial. just saying. or Justin saying maybe
I can’t believe it was this easy the whole time…
i mess up the angles and dont know how to fix them
How did he moved the 3d cursor so easily?
Shift, right click, while the snapping tools were activated (edge, median)
The x,y,z options got moved to the Tools N-Panel I think

If only the Spin tool was a modal operator like all the other tools.
Is this a paid addon?
no, it's default
