My English grandmother could not live without them. Been eating them in Australia since the 90's from the shop, but they are crap now. So I need to learn to make them.
So true how they have changed, I tasted them more than 20 years ago and they were really delicious, now they are just so n so!!! Better do them myself also
Just made these and they hit the button, I did reduce the sugar to 75g and add 1 tea of ginger powder, but the basic recipe is spot on. A big thank you
Digestive with tea was my to go breakfast growing up, and I didn't even grow up in Ireland, I moved to the US 5 years ago and I miss them a lot. Thanks for the recipe, definitely giving it a try.
Donal Skehan I know you two collab before, but I had been looking forward for another collab ages ago!!!So glad to see you two tgt!!And as always, thank you for the video and keep it up!
I was first familiar with Gemma's channel, but a couple of days ago I found Donal's. Finding that they have worked together (and created something delicious in the process) is such a treat!
Best recipe for digestive biscuits I have found. I used a different one which was okay but then I saw this. Now this one is my go-to recipe. Thank you!
I appreciate this greatly. Here in the States I've found Breakfast Biscuits at the grocery store but at only one store in particular and I've been trying to find a recipe without any luck. I enjoy a nice up of tea every morning and afternoon and these would go nicely with it.
If I had only known how easy these were to make, it would have ended my biscuit buying at Tesco's! I also love mine with chocolate on one side. Now I feel for a cuppa!
I enjoy digestive biscuits, but recently it disappeared from the shops (I live in Hungary), so I might have to try making them at home, I miss it so much. Thanks for the recipe!
Could you make the dough in a food processor? I wondered why they are called digestive and this is what I found: Digestive biscuit. ... The digestive was first developed in 1839 by two Scottish doctors to aid digestion. The term "digestive" is derived from the belief that they had antacid properties due to the use of sodium bicarbonate when they were first developed.
For the longest while I thought digestive biscuits were local (I grew up in Trinidad and Tobago) until I figured out they were probably a British thing we kept from colonial days and now to find out they're popular in Ireland and actually a Scottish thing astounds me. Chocolate digestives are the best btw
It's soo nice watching you two together! Looks like you get on really well and have the same kind of humour. Really refreshing and uplifting to watch!😍
Ooh, my two favorite people together! I love it. Not only do I like Ireland but also Irish people, and of course, Guinness and Kerry Gold Butter. Please do more of these collaborations. Cheers!
Amazing!! It's nice to see all the energy and authenticity you always have in your videos, thanks for keeping it real Donal 😊. Also love your collab videos, so much fun, and of course, can't wait to try this recipe!! Btw, like a month ago I found Gemma's channel, and as a uni student, I've been loving her 1 minute microwave series. Thanks to both of you 😀
ah man these remind me of the honey biscuits my great grandma used to make. Sort of like a cross between a hobnob and a digestive. Great with a cuppa! Great recipe guys, thanks for sharing ☺
It wasn't a Digestive biscuit but a ginger cookie I once in my youth held in my hand and the biscuit was halfway submerged in a cup of coffee. I was watching TV and all of a sudden I was sitting there with half a ginger cookie!!! Ooops! The other half sank in the coffee haha! I soon forgot all about it but was abruptly reminded about it when I drank the last of the coffee in a bottoms up kind of movement and all of a sudden I had this soft strange blob in my mouth!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEK!!! But ... but ... but ... heeeey, it's a ginger blob! :D Now you know!
The most addictive cookie I've ever had. Last time my Irish boyfriend came back from Ireland, he brought back some digestive biscuit because I watched this video. And this time I asked him to bring back 2 big packs. Sorry I can't get my hands off them. So munchies.
Tested and graded as McWitties biscuits. I used Bobs red mill organic raw non bleached flour, butter, some vanillin and oat milk. Cooked at 380 F for 12 min.
we had Irish butter Kerrygold in our market very long time ago and it was soo good. among many brands Kerrygold was my favorite. But unfortunately no one import that anymore. I wish Kerrygold enter our market again one day.
Perfect! I wanted to surprise my office with some Irish goodies for Saint Patrick's day, and I will definitely have to make these to go along with the Barry's Tea I'm providing! :-)
I laughed so mush the day we filmed and I laughed even more when I watched this. We must do it again soon, Donal.
Gemma Stafford yeah u should btw great recipe
SO MUCH FUN! :)
Gemma Stafford Yes please! More collaborations would be awesome!
They were initially thought to aid digestion, I think.
Where did you find that neat stamp??
My English grandmother could not live without them. Been eating them in Australia since the 90's from the shop, but they are crap now. So I need to learn to make them.

That's interesting! I always aroused msupposed it was the wholemeal flour that made it good for the digestion.
Just finished making these and they came out fantastic!
