While it's a close comparison, the Sony ASIII only has a 12MP sensor, and the tech is around four years old, the ASIII is meant for low-light video, not so much photography, maybe making a comparison in the evening/night may show the strength of the Sony with a good "optical" lens v the iPhone. There's no doubt that computational photography will catch up and exceed optical lenses for photography and videography, but I don't think we are just there yet, though it's getting closer.
