Don't forget that the Lexus LS 500 is also built in Japan. That right there should take care of the competitors! It will be around for a very long time, and hopefully exceeding 500,000 - 1+ million miles!! Built in Japan!

Excellent review! I just subscribed. One small correction at 16:05. The 2022 LS500h had the full digital display first. It trickled to the TX/GX and regular LS in 2024. Not many people know this because it was so rare.

Lexus designers have to make a huge splash on the next LS. Materials are fantastic, but you are competing with the S Class, 7 Series, and A8. You have to swing for the fences for the next version to compete.

@@mob4ever it won’t Lexus already planning to replace it with something else, the problem with the LS is that it doesn’t sell well In Japan and USA. Compared to a car like a G90, the G90 moves less unit in USA but in South Korea there is a higher demand for it . I believe the G90 even outsells SClass in South Korea but it’s a different story for the LS sales in Japan. The Japanese don’t even want this car anymore. There are a lot of videos on RUclips discussing about Lexus replacing the LS with SUV. A8 too don’t sell well at all in both Germany and USA.

So does that mean the trunk can be opened even if the car is dead, because that would be awesome. I had a 2003 S Class with a trunk that would not open if the battery was dead.

The exterior design holds up, but the interior needs work. The center console is a mess & that shifter is ridiculous. They need to do a ground up redesign & make it come fully loaded & only have the executive package as an option. Building the vast majority of them with the same equipment would actually be more cost efficient. There’s still a small market for the big sedan, but Lexus has let the car slowly die & that’s a shame because it was once viewed as the best sedan in the world. Make one last ICE version before transitioning to EV.

I’m also annoyed that Lexus now only offers all-black or two-toned black interiors. That’s an immediate deal breaker. Black interiors get too hot in the summer, are visually uninteresting, and show every last spec of dirt.
