@@DASHOffRoad My 2 bobs worth......LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE...! You could come out of it worse. I know it sounds overly simplistic but some weight training, and I don't mean stupid stuff. Get yourself a sauna. At the end of the day your decision, but I would keep away from those smiling/friendly/be your best mate butchers! Surgeons have more caveats/disclaimers than a used car salesman. Your in charge, you can pull the pin anytime you want.

Aren't those injections in your spine super fun???? I went through a series of those prior to going for a C5/6/7 fusion about 12 years ago (effects of playing rugby in my earlier life). I've lost a lot of movement, but that was in the old days of solid blocks being inserted and screwed in place. I have heard that a couple of years after my operation they started using blocks that are articulated and give you more movement back. Good luck with everything, and don't be surprised if you are up and about way quicker than what they tell you. I was back to an office job in just over 2 weeks, I just had to take it easy as you would expect for a few months. The recovery will be nothing like having a fractured vertebra, you will probably have a much shorter time in any form of brace than you did previously. In the end it was definitely worth it, my quality of life vastly improved.
I really appreciate your comment. I am most worried about the recovery being scarred from the fracture 6 years ago. I hope I have a similar recovery to you 🙏

Dave sorry to hear of your injury to your neck, I feel your pain . I fractured my c4/ 5 surfing in 1985 In Bali, and spent 2yrs in a neck brace. The nerve pain was next level. As a teenager your bullet proof and as a male we put important medical stuff off. I strengthened my body to protect the injury which is a band aid solution I think you made the best decision to take action to fix the problem. This medical procedure has come along way and less intrusive with a quick and full recovery. Thank you for sharing your injury, personal experience with it and pre op business preparations. I wish you a speedy and full recovery. Good luck 🤙
Thanks Paul, I’ve tried for the last 6 years to strengthen my body but just couldn’t as it caused too much pain to exercise. Before the injury I used to run x3 times a week and was always quite lean, I miss those days. Hopefully I can go back to exercise after
All the best Dave with the op, chronic pain is no fun. I had nerves burnt for lower back pain a week ago, 6 years of pain medication and cortisone treatments just a band aid. Feels great after only a week, hope yours works. Take care
You'll be right mate had L6 & L7 fused it went really well took it easy followed doctors advice. I really have no after affects its been a year now no pain no drugs. Good Luck & all the best.

It’s not selfish to take some personal time and look after your body! I am permantly impaired now because I didn’t listen to my body. You need to get off Lyrica after operation, it’s nasty shit. Make sure you do your rehab properly. Keep a positive attitude 👍
Thanks, yeah, I’ve been on Lyrica for a year now. It’s killed my ability to multitask, which was something I was pretty good at before. Sooner I get off it the better
Do surgery when absolutely necessary. Steroids dun work shortly after. Try diclofenac potassium, works fast and better than most as a painkiller. Needs time to heal and yr lifestyle from yr videos hinders recovery. Stretching, walking work wonders in the long run. I'm not a doctor but speaking from personal PAINFUL EXPERIENCES! Regards.
