997S and 574 are the best intro's and then once your feet are in the water you can step up to the 99X line. Much much better quality than Nike/Adidas and they're much more comfortable on foot. The higher end stuff is also usually endorsed by doctors.
Same, just got my 1st Made in USA NB in May, 998NF. Once the seal was broken... Wow. It is now December & I think I'm at around 8 pairs total. OG 990 (990v1) is my personal fave, but the 998 is such a wearable shoe. 8 have the 997S but want some MIUSA 997s. I like the look of the 996 the best, but my shoe ppl on YT say it's not as comfy as other 99X models. 🤷🏼 Only one way to find out...
I am like you HES in that I'm also a US9.5. When I tried on the 57/40 instore I was blown away with how roomy that model fits. I tried on the US9 on display and there was still a fair bit of room at the toe box. May have to size down a whole size to US8.5.
I got those exact 680s. Same color and all. And I love them. I’m fact they are the second generation 680s I’ve owned. Great value, great comfort, great style, they really do look super cool of feet. They are just an overall winner.
I find the 997H to be a little narrow, but after wearing them they fit great and they are true to size. In the 327 i usually go 0.5 size up, they are really narrow. Tbh I have wide feet :)) Hope this helps some people! Anyway, keep up with the great work!!! Great video with budget sneakers

Today I bought the Fresh Foam 680 v8. Very comfortable and the midsole is pretty squishy, I would probably say that it is more on the lines of a max cushion.

NB quality & materials have to be felt to be truly appreciated. I got the OG 990v1 and am awestruck by the softness & premium feel of the suede. I get them out just to hold them, it's nuts. I have the 574, XC72, 57/40, 997H (in the same color)and the 327 all under $100 without getting on sale. They are all AWESOME, especially the XC72. You can also get the Rebel and Propel and various other models under $100 if you wait for sales and get deals. I even have a few 992 Made In America I got on sale under $100. NB is just doing it right and IMO the best brand going right now for the price/quality/comfort dynamic
I have 2 pairs of each. The 997s needed some breaking in but they have so much support and look so good and the roavs are the most comfortable shoe I've ever had.
Those 997H are pretty good looking but was disappointed with material quality, the original 997 are way better and the 997S is probably one of the best NB sneakers ever. I'm dying to get my hands on one at a decent price, same with the 990 V5's and yes the 550's are fire as well has that retro 90's vibe to them.

If you're not from the DMV area, people in other states sleep on New Balance. Out here in California the younger generation clown people for wearing New Balance at school but will turn around and give props for wearing ugly Yeezys.
These shoes are too light for longer runs no stability and no protection for road runners . I like the older designs. They gave you a better ride on those long runs. It all seems about fashion now days.

NB 410 trail runners all the way. They seem very well made for the price, has goid traction and ride.
my personal favorite new balances under 100 bucks are 997 Sport and BB480 lows- similar vibe to 550s but a little more uncommon
not sure if 997S are always under 100 but I got my pair on sale for like 70
907H - the "H" stands for Heritage I believe. They are an entry-level 99X as opposed to the Made in USA 99Xs that start closer to 200 USD
I wear wide 12's and found that 13 fits me much better in the 574.

Hey Hes! You've probably found out already, but the "H" in 997H stands for "hike." The 997S means "sport" and is just a slightly different model.
What makes them "hike" though?
