Wow it's my first time seeing that 990v2 that you put in number one. Absolutely beautifully executed colorway and now I want one! Happy to see shoes that aren't usually considered as "hyped" being placed in the spotlight.
The fact I picked up a dozen sneakers this year and 9 of them are NB is all I need to say. Not to mention only 2 of those made it to your list (Bodega 990v3 & KithxNB 1300) . Just because NB has been SO versatile this year. There were so many different silhouettes, collabs and CWs. It was just that crazy. There was really something for everyone to love, but more importantly they've all been quality. Can't wait to see more from you Sean. By far my favorite sneaker reviewer on the platform
Not surprised at all on your number 1 pick being a GR. New Balance absolutely killed it with GR colorways and that 990v2 really shows that. I personally made a top 20 video solely dedicated to GR nbs of 2021 because there were so many fire GRs.
992 is also my favorite NB pair, i really like your review coz you're not always choose a collab hyped up shoes which sometimes had a terrible colorway imo. NB had a great general release colorway right now like the 992 blue grey that you mentioned also in your video. Keep up the great work sean, you really had a great taste in sneakers 👍👍👍
Good list. I struck out in all of the collab NB releases, but was lucky enough to pick up a few this year: 992 grey, 2002R Protection Pack (Sea Salt), and 550 Team Carolina. Also thanks for the detailed review of the 550. When the newest 550s released, I was reasonably close to the front of the line, but my size 12 was already sold out. I was hesitant as I never size down, but I bought in size 11.5. You were really spot on with the sizing! A little snug in the toes, length is perfect and the heel is oddly wide.
The one i've been waiting for! I've purchased a lot of NBs this year and I can't wait for what Teddy has in store for 2022. I'm glad I have the CP2 (your #1) coming in before the new year! thankful for an under retail eBay find!
Very solid list. I appreciate how you made a separate list for solely NB releases. They definitely have earned that distinction. From the GRs to the collabs, NB has brought it this year. I just purchased the NB 992 in the blue/ black/ grey color way. Waiting for them to arrive. I love how the GRs are slept on by the masses and I’m able to scoop up a pair on a restock. Or better yet, they hit the sale rack. Later.

I really like a lot of the cw's here, but unfortunately, pretty much majority of the shoes are fetching for a high resale price, and I don't dip into the resell market unless it's a grail. But hats off to bringing greater awareness and recognition of the high quality and heat the "dad shoe" company has been putting out lately

Neat video! I was surprised the other Levi's 990v3 colorway didn't make the list considering you appear to like gray, as well as earth/cream tones. I have a pair and consider them my second favorite pickup of 2021. Separately, I'll have to look more into the 920 on your recommendation.
I love the 5740, one of the best new silhouettes I've seen in a while. That bricks and wood pair is fire, but I like even more the concepts collab, awesome shoe, I wish they had it available here in Brazil.
JJJJound navy blue 990s are probably my 3rd favorite NB I own. Love them. Color is the best imo but they just can't beat my basic ass GR grey 992s lol I wear those way too much
Great video Sean and really appreciate you making a list dedicated to NB. I guess it just shows how much NB's popularity has risen over the last year. For me, personally, I would have the Aime Leon Dore 993s in my top 20 and I would have the 1700JPs in my top 10. Another pair I would put in my list is the Japan-exclusive 1600s. The materials they used on these asian-made 1600s is better than any 57/40 I have seen this year. Another one I would put on my list is the 990 Version 1. I love all the 990 anniversary details that they added to these Version pairs. I wanted to get the Version 3s as well but had no luck.
I loved the way you explain about shoes. It's help everyone a lot, interms of choosing a good shoe. I myself love collecting snekers. I have adidas, nike asics, puma, converse. But I don't have NEWBALANCE snekers because in India 🇮🇳 they don't have any official website. They do have some stores but not in my city (kolkata)😥. I wish they could launch their website or app for India just like other brands did. So that I can buy some Newbalance snekers 🥰🥰

Now it's hard to work in all the other stuff. My feet are *happy* in some 998s. But those Version 1 editions... the quality has to be felt to be believed. Oh well, too many NBs, not enough feet/days is a good problem to have, and money is made to be spent, after all.

I may or may not have been able to convince at least 5 of my online sneakerhead friends to get those metallic silver/aqua 992s, 100% my favorite NB of the year.
Nice picks, a lot of them are truly great. But I have to disagree, the AMM3s were not exactly available for everyone to cop, as with most of the NB releases. The only ones I consider that the consumers had a shot at were the Patta 1's. Everything else, you'd better have a show plug to cop a pair. But your 20 selections here were definitely on point. The only shoes I hit on retail were the Parra Dunks, a freak snkrs miracle haha. My AJ1 Grey's, I had to bite the resale price as it was a must cop for me.
I’m very shocked the refined future pack didn’t make the cut! I know the quality isn’t as clean as the US pairs but they’re super unique. Love the 2nd pick of pattas and still looking for a pair myself.
I mentioned in the beginning any of the pairs that made my General Top 20 countdown video I excluded from this one so I wasn’t repeating myself. Refined futures are my #1 NB pickup overall. 👍

I'm wondering if you have ever looked into New Balance's Numeric(skateboarding) line? They are very lowkey, but I personally have found them to be comfy and durable with models such as the 306, 272 and the 1010.
