- Hi. Jealousy is a real thing and I think it’s best if we don’t pretend that we don’t sometimes struggle with it! It helps to be honest and bring some of those feelings to light that way they can be unpacked and learned from... tori and I both have had spouts of jealousy and have learned a lot over time on how to avoid those feelings and how to rebuke them when they come! But it’s obviously easier said than done... but life is always easier said than done. Hang in there and give yourself grace. A lot of you want to do EVERYTHING right ALL the time. Which I admire! I don’t think that is a bad desire but I do believe it is unrealistic. Set small goals for yourself and be patient as you GROW. Remember a flower doesn’t go from a seed to a flower without experiencing a few storms and growing in the midst of them. Praise God that we have a love that makes us not need to be perfect like Jesus was. Praise God that we have freedom from our sin. And praise God that he has a UNIQUE journey for us all. Don’t compare your story to someone else’s. God is still writing yours!

@@ToriAndChad I just watched this video, and, up till recently, my jealousy level was high, but thanks to therapy, Bible reading, prayer, and soul searching, it is now almost non existent because I put in the work to remind myself of things like I’ve birthed 6 kids, and therefore my body looks different, but my husband still loves me and still thinks I’m beautiful, or I remind myself that he has a job and we’re all taken care of, so I don’t need to be jealous of people flashing money around or things like that. I hope my story of hard work and this video can give others hope and to teach people to start seeing this world through God’s eyes not the world’s because we will never live in a perfect world, which means that we’ll always end up disappointed with something or someone if we stay focused on sinners and materialistic items rather than God💗

Yess finally someone who sees the difference in finding someone attractive to being attracted to someone. Whenever I talk about this to people, they do not get it. They think finding someone good looking and being attracted to them are the same thing, but it's not. So when married couples talk about being attracted to other people, it always makes me cringe inside.

This entire week I’ve been feeling very jealous of my best friend and I feel horrible for feeling that way. I don’t want to be jealous! But definitely going to be praying against the spirit of jealousy. This video was much needed🙏🏽

This hit me so hard. For the past 2 years of my life I felt that toxic jealousy building in me becarse of a relationship I was in, where I knew that following provocative accounts would keep me anxious and insecure. I talked about it with him, several times, and he insisted that he was capable of separating desire from just looking at the picture (can they really...?) still... I never bought it.
Now I realize that is not the real problem. The problem wasn’t if I believed that his mind won’t be invaded with those dirty desires, it should be his wish of keeping my precious heart protected, and both of us in peace.
Correct me if I’m wrong, I’d like to know your guy’s opinions.

Work on yourself. Create goals and accomplish them. When you aren't invested in yourself, it's easy for jealousy to arise within you. Jealousy is wanting what someone else has. Create an avenue for yourself to attain those wants by creating goals and daily investment. Whenever I feel a tad bit jealous, I refocus and spend time on myself. When you do that, you have no time to focus on others.
This video has soooo many layers. 🙌 I like how you guys surveyed and asked ppl to submit questions because it made it realize that I am truly not the only one that feels that way, think that way, struggle with it, etc.

Another practical tip that has worked wonder for me when dealing with jealousy or envy, is to practice gratitude writing. Writing down everyday a few things I’m grateful for really helps me focus on what I already have rather than what I don’t. :) taking it to another level and feeling gratitude for the person or situation you’re jealous of is also very humbling

Whew, have we dealt with jealousy... I (Kaelia) would feel so crazy for feeling this way. And Jake (my amazing husband) would remind me time and time again that I wasn’t and kept encouraging me to share it, even if I felt crazy, even if it was my “shitty first draft”, meaning I let him hear what my negative throughs would be saying without rationalizing it. Thank you guys for doing a great video on this! Thank you for talking about this...jealousy is analogous enough to the society that we are all accustomed to;it struck me as a cogent metaphor for how we live life today: constantly teetering on the precipice to grasp at the latest popular thing/person. Misplaced expectations precipitate feelings of redundancy. Thank you for the subtle redirection towards our own internal mental growth and happiness. Internal locus of control is the key!!
