    Thanks! I got my own idea to add water into a bottle of spray scent to make it last longer, so today I was inspired to look up a DIY to make up my own spray, and there you are .with exactly what I was looking for. I like these kind of sprays so I don't contribute to our ozone issues, and I don't have to go broke doing it.🍀🍁🌹

      It won't really work. You'll need to add an emulsifier (Polysorbate 80) and alcohol (Preferably Perfumer's Grade alcohol).
      You can easily find those online, and it'll change this spray from an inefficient spray (always have to shake it and still won't mix properly, and doesn't smell except if you bury your face in whatever you spray on), to an actual scent spray.

    @duMaurier15 2 года назад

    wait.. why are people using alcohol or witch hazel or isy when this method is so much easier and cheaper? Which method is the best way?

    • @gd5158
      @gd5158 2 года назад +2

      This method here, as simple as it is, just doesn't really work the way you think it would, for two main reasons.
      One - Water and oil DONT MIX. Even if you vigorously mix it every 5 seconds (already a red flag for inefficiency).
      Two - Essential oils scent doesn't go very far. When you spray this, you'll only smell it for 5 seconds as you spray it, and that's it. You'd have to bury your face in whatever surface you're spraying it on to smell it.
      It really does suck that this method here is probably the most popular one on RUclips, a huge misinformation. People make it, and then wonder why it doens't work, then just go on to buy commercial sprays which actually work. That's what happened to me until I researched more thoroughly.
      Two ingredients are missing in this that seperate this spray from something that works to something that doesn't work.
      Alcohol - spreads in the room when you spray and carries the scent with it (Best to use Perfumer's Alcohol, as it's not as toxic and smelly as rubbing alcohol, and makes for a clear liquid)
      Polysorbate 80 - Emulsifies the oils and the water (water in the alcohol or the water you add).
      You add those, and you'll have a proper spray scent. Still very much DIY.
      At the end of the day, you can just drop a few essential oil drops in hidden areas in your house and that's fine.
      The question is not how to make a scent spray, it's how to make an actual useful one.

    Why not use citric acid instead of baking soda ? Acts as a preservative too

    Great content. Can you moderate the music so it doesn't blast me unexpectedly? The volume going up so much without warning is very unpleasant.

    I made this and it did not work unfortunately :( The scent dissipated immediately and just made everything wet. I even tried spraying my pillow, and the scent only lingered for a few seconds.

      Maybe try a higher quality oil and make sure it’s 100% oil. I personally like the brand called Now. It’s quality and affordable.

      Otherwise the oil will separate from the water and the scent wouldn't be even

      Don't Listen to her. Absolutely under no circumstances should you eat essential oils. They are for external use only!!!
