I agree with other comments here as well that you hopefully check out Chinchilla's solo work starting with "Fingers (live) and "Little Girl gone." Ten refers to her as a musical sibling and they did another live collaboration together that will probably move you called "How to be me." Well now you know who Chinchilla is, Ren refers to her as his musical sibling, they have a few other Duet performances..."How to be me" is IMO one of the best Duets ever performed live, period. As for my favorite Ren track, there is no possible way I could choose, Ren has the antidote for everything. With the vast catalogue Ren has, there is always something that fits my mood at any given moment.

Ren can not only sing; he can do whatever he wants to do and whatever he does he does really well. Apart from his obvious brilliance, I relate to his music because of my own struggles with chronic disease. Over decades my world began to shrink. I adapted. Adjusted. Endured. You are very perceptive about Ren and you are going to love discovering the extent of his creativity an his community of devotees including countless reactors like yourself. It is hard to chose a favourite because every new song usually becomes my favourite but "Losing It" is a great rap track and some of his earlier material like "Humble" are outstanding. ❤

There is so much about Ren, he is a tremendous musician and singer, has done some great stuff with his band The Big Push. Has some great stuff of him and Chinchilla busking (singing on the street) that you should check out. Not everything he does has these heavy messages, but there is a lot that does.

Favorite Ren song: CRUTCH
Story: Spent 20 years with massive, crippling depression, and tried countless psych meds (some of which made me feel dead, some that made me feel worse) but after many failed tries I found a combination that worked for me and I've been depression free for 15 years. You should only medicate mental issues if you can't stand the alternative, but lots of people like me are eventually helped. Even Ren currently takes the antidepressant Wellbutrin (saw him listing his current meds in a bts video), and whatever the dosage, he's no longer walking in a chalk outline for sure. Like me however, it took him a lot of failed tries to get something that actually helped.
I love that, Depression free for 15 year ❤️❤️ Congratulations 🎉 We have to stay educated 💪🏾
@@Jazztv_ THANK YOU. And medication free for 13. After 2 years on the 1st meds that ever worked, my EXCELLENT doctor, said we should try weening me off them and seeing how I was. I was dubious, because unlike MANY other combinations, this cocktail had almost no side effects, and I would have happily stayed on them forever. But we tried removing them, and it worked. After 2 years on meds my brain had rewired itself and I've been great ever since. The problem is that the human brain is SO complex, and each person is different, and there are LOTS of combinations to try, some of which make things worse, and people with mental health issues are often understandably impatient and pessimistic when things go poorly, so it's a HARD process for too many people. Like Ren though, you can just never give up on yourself.

I love how quickly you get the message in Ren's songs.
I have severe major depressive disorder, and anxiety. I do take medication, but it took time to find the right ones. In the past I have been on medication that definitely made me feel empty, and dead inside, like a floating Chalk Outline. With the RIGHT medication and therapy, I am on a healing journey. Aside from my therapist, Ren's music is also a part of my therapy.

Don't go for anxiety pills folks, before you know it the doctor who gave you the pills will tell you that you're addicted for simply following his prescription. Camomile tea, valerian root, or honey and lemon with some rose hips. Thank you so much for your openness. Genesis is my favorite hip hop by Ren but Ocean, For Joe, and How to be me with Chinchilla, are my current favs. Patience is so beautiful and graceful. Peace, love, strength.❤

Any other Zoloft Zombies in this comment section? They had me on that once and it worked for a little while but, eventually I just became a shell... like you said in the beginning of the video, it felt like an out of body experience. It was like I was outside of myself, watching me just go through the motions and not feeling anything. It doesn't just numb the bad feelings. It numbs ALL of the feelings. I could have watched a disaster happening right in front of me and it wouldn't register in my brain that I should be upset by what I am seeing. But also, nothing made me feel happy, either. There was no depression but, there was no joy, either. Nothing moved me at all, emotionally. I was just there, observing life with no feelings about it whatsoever. When I realized that, it terrified me. I got off of it immediately. I won't lie, though. There are some weak days when I miss not feeling anything. Especially now that chronic physical pain has entered the chat. Now, I have to resist the healthcare system on 2 fronts... mental health drugs and pain drugs. They want to put me on everything. I have a 16 year old kid. I need to be present, fully...even if sucks and every minute is painful. I need to be here. All of me. My pain is how I know that I am alive. If you mask it, without healing it, the problem will only get worse. I'm not knocking anyone. Take the pills for as long as you need to, as it can absolutely save your life and bring you back from the edge of the unthinkable... just know when it's time to stop taking them, it won't be because the pain is gone. It's because you learn how to live with the pain. Crutches are supposed to be temporary, until you can walk on your own again. ❤

Another fantastic video! If you haven't already, check out his one million subscribers video. I'd recommend songs to react to, but they are all so good, it almost doesn't matter lol. Can't wait to watch your whole Ren journey. You seem to get his music in a way that a lot of reactors don't.
Ok great reaction but I would like to point out for Ren he was misdiagnosed I believe with bi polar or another pretty heavy metal disorder prior to them figuring out it was actually Lymes so I'm sure the meds he was on wasn't just your every day anxiety pill. I will say I would never discourage anyone from taking medication for a actual chemical imbalance in the brain. I have a son with pretty extreme anxiety and he has tried all the natural solutions and he recently told me he feels he needs a medication because he tried everything and it's not going away. I know a lot of people on mild anxiety and antidepressants that credit them for saving their life. Not all meds make you walk around in a fog.
