I'm the oldest in the family. The feeling of having to protect your many younger siblings is real.

2. The youngest, Josie will turn 18 in 4 more years, and she could be waiting until then to do something with her own life.
3. There was a rumor about Bill Gothard forcing Jana to take part in "a 10-year celibacy vow."
**4. MAYBE Jim Bob and Michelle forced Jana to stay home and banned her from marrying and having kids so she would be a lifelong caretaker until the day she dies, and I hope they didn't do that!**
5. She's exhausted from taking care of other people's kids.
6. She's had too many bad experiences with courtships, and developed trust issues - especially after learning about Josh's crimes.
**7. Bill Gothard founded his IBLP cult, and kids are "NOT ALLOWED" to move out of their parents' house until marriage, and it's possible she's "too scared" to leave, so she can take charge of her own life, and IF that's the case, I wish Jill and Jinger could help her.**

Im the oldest girl of 8 siblings and raising that many younger siblings you never feel the urge to have any of your own. Once all my siblings were raised I felt like I could finally be free and I wouldn’t trap myself again by having kids of my own. I can imagine Janna might feel similarly
However coming out would be the worst as far as the parents are concerned.
I thought she might be gay. And that is why she hasn't had the desire to hook up with a husband. Of course sadly this religious cult would never accept this lifestyle. Pure speculation and I hope I'm wrong as I can only imagine how awful this would be for any child to feel like they couldn't come out to their family and be their authentic self.
Even if Jana was charged with endangering a minor by letting the minor go missing, that’s not as bad compared to the shit Josh has done.
They could have had people in their home that were secretly gay and could have introduced her to something like that but I believe honestly a lot of it has to do with whatever Josh done to her
She's in charge of taking care of her siblings and her parents. She's trapped and can't leave. Seeing that all the duggar kids and adults are under contract with their father, their life isn't their own. Jimbob owns the rights life events in which he can profit from. Can't imagine Jana wanting the camera pointing towards here; she said she didn't like that kind of attention.
I love Jana, and I wish she protected her parents and her parents should lose being parents for only protecting Josh and not their daughter
Has anyone considered that possibly at least one Duggar could be gay? It's not like it would be out of the realm of possibilities considering there are 19 children.

As the eldest daughter, she is tasked with serving her parents for the rest of her life. When there are no more kids or grand kids, it will be then be her job to serve her parents in their old age.

Guys have any of you actually lived this type of fundamentalist lifestyle? Because as a woman, living at home until you get married, even if that is at an "older" age is the NORM, it's what you are actually TAUGHT to do and you don't think question it! And firstborn daughters are often the last to marry even if you really want to get married, idk why but that's just how it happens. Jana not being married yet and living at home until recently doesn't surprise me at all.
But as her sisters have gotten out, she knows this lifestyle is something she could leave. I know that Jill, Jinger or Jessa would take her in while she was on her own 2 feet.

I think Jana still lives at home because Michelle needs her as a "buddy" to finish raising the kids still at home, do the homeschooling and clean the house while Michelle sits on the couch, creepily smiling like a Stepford Wife. Jana was given Josie to raise when Josie was a micropreemie, she probably feels like the littlest one's are her own kids. Michelle even said "without Jana nothing would get done."
