I had the exact same problem.I saw that white yucky grease in mine too when I opened it up.After a good cleaning and greasing it’s working fine.Thanks for the video
This appears to be my project tomorrow. I have a 1990 Troy Bilt PTO Horse (really, not that heavily used), but the tines aren't turning with enough forced to actually till. Taking it apart tomorrow. Thanks.
So I have one and it spins great and you can’t stop it when it’s spinning but when you hook up the tool it does not spin the tiller the clutch doesn’t engage like it’s supposed to when you move the engage lever
I think my issues is with the actual PTO Engage/Disengage lever. Have you ever replaced and do you have a video. Mine has a lot of play in the lever and did everything else.
Hey sorry I don't have any more videos on that that was just a customers of mine but it could be were the lever connect to the rod that switches it back and forth I'm not too sure hey thanks for the response and feedback
I seem to have the same problem the engage and disengage will not slide the PTO forward to engage with the tines does anybody have any type of schematic or not why won’t engage or slide
I have the same tiller and I cant keep it engaged while digging unless I hold the center shifter down .can you help ..it has new belt and cam was adjusted but that little wheel that rides on the cam is not staying locked in please help
Do your customer a favor and remove the tine holders and clean out the material wrapped up around the tine shaft or you will be making a video on changing the tine shaft seals

An O-Ring where the two halves go together would have been a nice improvement to the design

Thanks for the video! The tines on my old Troy Bilt stopped turning yesterday and it was a quick and easy fix, thanks to this video.

The spring might not be strong enough or it's behind enough somehow I'm not putting full pressure
