Explore planets and discover the fauna, flora, and resources needed to craft everything from medicine and food to equipment and weapons. Build outposts and hire a crew to passively extract materials and establish cargo links to transfer resources between them. Invest these raw materials into research projects to unlock unique crafting recipes.
Space can be a dangerous place. A refined combat system gives you the tools to deal with any situation. Whether you prefer long-range rifles, laser weapons, or demolitions, each weapon type can be modified to complement your playstyle. Although a lot of people hate on this game, I really enjoy playing it.
I think there are "synths" like we know from fallout 4, some NPC's really act weird.

For a game 2023 by Bethesda… to think that would would up the game on animations …. Looks like copy pasted animations from fallout... you even turn and move the same way lol even the close up Dialogue scenes

This game feels like eating plain vanilla ice cream. It's good and I'm enjoying, but nothing about it feels particularly compelling or exciting.
I’m 12 hours in and the space ship shit is so annoying. Loading screen into ship, cutscene into space, menu to space map, cutscene to new planet, menu and cutscene onto planet then loading screen off ship. And rarely do I get into space and have random ships to hold the shoot button at for a few seconds. Fucking repetitive af

Weight management 2: everything in ship cargo can be sold to any plant vendor or in space merchant ship, without need to carry to shops.
First thought when started this up. Going into the mine, look on the left: why are they using an antique fire extinguisher from 300 years before? Later, they have antique computers, antique ipads. Like nothing new got invented in the next 300 years.
Weight management: drop off ship parts as soon as possible, they are in Misc. List. Some can weigh as much as 10 per.
i had dumbells on me for the entire intro without knowing how to get it off
Ship parts are ship med packs. Keep a few at least.

best thing about armored core is that cowboi actually has to try to make a unique character and not make himself in the game lol
you reference Lydia so you're a Skyrim fan. Know that the loot acts just like it does in Skyrim in Starfield too. No need to chase weapons that go "flying off" into some crazy direction... they will be on the corpses inventory when you go to loot it. Just thought you should know. :)
In case you didn’t know You were able to target specific parts like the engine or shields on an enemy ship since you have the targeting control systems skill and you were able to boost because of the piloting skill both came from your background
Great video, though I didn't start watching this until after starting the game. Been watching this on and off while on breaks at my job. I'm really enjoying this game so far. It's definitely going to be a long one.

Bethesda has never really been a company I had a lot of trust in, only because they've never really been a company that I pay attention to. I like many of their games, but they don't blow me away or anything. Just fun lil games to jump into every now and then for a few hours then not think about it again for a few months to a year. That's basically how I'm looking at this. I'll probably get it a year or so down the road assuming the gameplay in this video looks good enough.
Saying "They're not a company I have a lot of trust in" was maybe wrong, I basically just meant, it's not like Fromsoft where I would actually be willing to preorder a game just because I know, as long as it's a kind of game I normally enjoy, I'll enjoy their game. I didn't get AC6 just because I already know I don't like mechs.

I can't get past how weird it looks when the NPCs are talking to your character. Like they're staring at a camera.
My hairline started receding at a really young age so I started shaving when I was 19. I use to have really long hair down to my shoulders. But my hairline was so high it just looked bad. Now at 24 make enough money to get a hair transplant but there’s a problem. The hair on my head is extremely strait when I grow it out. The hair everywhere else’s on my body is treaty curly and it would look odd to have curly hair in the front and straight hair everywhere else. Also I let it grow out when I’m working 7/12s. I was working 7/12s on a turnaround for 3 months and my hair grew just a couple inches and it was hot as hell. So now I’m reconsidering getting a hair transplant.

The powerup system as to which module to activate is clearly inspired by FTL in my opinion.

You can freely switch between the two with the click of a button, use third person to run around and explore/combat then hop into first to loot

I'm right there with ya. Dig their takes on fantasy, but their take on SciFi just feels off.
A few hours is not enough time to get anywhere in the game to actually enjoy it. 90% of people saying they don’t like the game have barely made it to New Atlantis 😂

I’ll be honest… I hope it picks up because that beginning was boring af. I mean in Skyrim you’re about to get effing beheaded then a freaking dragon shows up and wrecks the place. Why couldn’t they have started off with a bang like that?

So, looking at this combat, when you shoot the characters stats determine if you hit or not? Like it was in Fallout 3? One thing I hated in Fallout 4 was that the gun would bounce around like crazy, making me dizzy. I liked it much more like in Fallout 3 where your characters stats determined if you hit or not.
No… that’s not how it works.. I’d you aim and shoot and your cross hair is on them.. you will hit them… sounds like a skill issue because that never happen to me in fallout …
@@jbxgundam2872 To the "sounds like a skill issue". I would like to invite you to go and play Fallout 3. No not Fallout 4, Fallout 3.
In Fallout 3 you can put your crosshair directly over an enemy... but it is your SKILL in Small Guns, Big Guns, Plasma Guns, Lase Guns that decides WHERE that shot will land. No matter if your crosshair is directly over his face.
They changed that for Fallout 4 and Fallout 76. Starfield is, and I played it for a hour, exactly like Fallout 4 and 76, you shoot where you aim.

@@ezlyrics1677 No. For whatever reason, a lot of people are hung up on not being able to fly from planet to planet. They thought they were buying No Man's Sky but with quests, I guess. It's a fantastic game if you can let go of dumbass ideas like that walking around an entire planet would be desirable or fun.

I'm at 20hrs and am just not feeling this game. Feels like Fallout 4 without VATS. Love Bethesda fantasy games but man this is just lacking something. Glitches have been fun though.
The game actually has its own version of VATS. Look at the skills

I get that Bethesda’s made this because it was their dream game but I don’t see it getting a sequel or off-shoot game like elder scrolls or fallout has. Like how would you add to this game, just more planets? Idk the whole space thing just doesn’t do it for me but I respect the studio for putting the work in.

@@a.very.bored.truck.driver it might be the 'same engine' but its the same as the difference between say Minecraft 1.0 and Minecraft erm what are we at nowadays 1.2 something? Anyways its a huge difference
@@1993rnicholsonexcept Minecraft changed half a million lines of code in 1.8 and adds to an existing game, not tries to make a new game on a 30 year old engine with bolted on updates.

Honestly after a few hours with the game I have to say it's quite disappointing for a few reasons:
- Space travel is lackluster, it's basically a fast travel to get near a planet followed by a fast travel to actually land
- Side quests I've done so far in the city were all basically fetch quests
- Facial animations during dialogs are terrible, coming off of BG3 it's wild how Larian has done way better in that department with zero previous experience, while Bethesda has been doing that stuff for decades without any substantial improvement
- The most enjoyable character I've met so far is the adoring fan, a character specifically designed to be annoying
- Very little reactivity in dialog choices (for example I've got a conversation with a lady where I could only admit I've never ever ever been in the city WHERE MY PARENTS LIVE)
- World in general feels pretty lifeless
The only decentthing I've seen so far is combat, and even that has so far failed to be anything more than competent. I really hope the game will get better after a few hours, but I'm not holding my breath.
Lariat studios has been around for a decade already and made two amazing rpgs very similar to bg3 in divinity original Sin one and two, so to say they don't have experience is crazy go play those.
Damn after Fudgemuppet's review I was expecting some kind of masterpiece. At least it's on game pass
@@spacecowboy5486I've heard from a few people that the game gets better after 10-15 hours, so there's hope yet. I still think that many of its fundamental issues can't be solved no matter how much it improves later on, but who knows.

To anyone contemplating this game and seeing all the negativity and letting that hold them back, just quit listening to the noise. If you like betheada games and had fun with fallout 4 then why wouldnt you give this game a try and make your own opinion. What happened to supporting our favorite developers and giving them the money and backing to make us great games. The community is getting to judgemental, entitled, and ass backwards. People forget we started playing games just to have fun and thats all that matter quit thinking about shit way too deep. This is also coming from someone who preoredered anthem hated it and is still gonna preorder every bioware game because id hate my life if they went out of business and quit making games.
Exactly, people just like to hate dude. Idk what people expected, but all I wanted was a Bethesda game in space that had better roleplaying options than fo4, and it seems like it’s exactly that. I’m definitely going to cop a Series S at some point to play, especially since it seems like it’s a stable 30 fps, which was my only concern.
You’re not wrong, play what you enjoy. I think people are just frustrated how soulless and corporate video games feel now. It’s frustrating to see the passion leave these companies
