I live in Europe; IKEA doesn’t have matresses for babies covered in plastic because it’s not allowed by pediatricians here. It increases the chance of SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome). They DO however sell one that can be sprayed off in a bath tub. It can be immersed in water to be cleaned.😅
White kitchen is classic and classic is never boring or out. I have just renovated my kitchen, it`s all white. I spend more time to keep it clean, but its so BEAUTIFUL!!!
Creme color, but I would choose a neutral creme rather than warm, so if you update the countertops or other areas of the kitchen the cabinets would most likely still match.
I love looking at all the display kitchens at least Ikea!
Hello, I enjoy your shop with me videos, mostly for the fun and refreshingly honest commentary because I don't actually have warehouse memberships. BUT this video is gold! I'm currently saving up to reorganize my house so I loved seeing the store as well as just "hanging" out with you on my favorite Mai Monday mornings! 😊
Just an FYI... When you purchase throw pillow covers, you should go with a size or so down from the actual insert , it makes your pillows always looking full and fluffy! I have size 20 insert and I buy 18 covers.

Love your videos 💕. You would be able to paint over a canvas with a product called gesso first, it’s like a primer then you could paint your own artwork 😊

I would start two envelopes for saving up one to replace the kitchen counter top and one to have the cabinets professionally painted.

My son has the Ikea sofa with the pull out bed and storage. I have to say it's super comfortable! I plan on getting one for myself.

Mai, i saw a television show years ago, that said the higher end hotels actually sandwich a down comforter inbetween two flat sheets to make it easier to change/clean them. At the top, you fold the top one under the comforter and then the bottom one up and over the comforter and top sheet and the bottom and sides are left open. IDK what kind of sleepers you and your husband are, but it could be an alternative to a duvet to make your life a little bit easier
What you call a "comforter", is called a "duvet" in the UK. The duvet goes into the "duvet cover", which you are referring to as a duvet. So it's a bit like the equivalent of a pillow and a pillowcase.

You can get those "S" hooks at dollar store! Please keep up with great videos. I like how realistic you are with organizing and cleaning not trying to act like everything looks so perfect all the time because it doesn't in real life

For your kitchen cabinets, maybe a slightly more creamier/yellowy off-white than your table and benches ? Also you might try different light bulbs if you want to make the counters more neutral/less yellow - might make picking a color easier. (But I also say that as someone who DESPISES cool light 😄)

You could totally do the black with your Countertop. Either black uppers and lowers or do the upper in a dark beige. With glass. You could also definitely still do the butcher block counter top in your island.

I got a new white ikea kitchen with black cooking appliances and granite. I've had it 4 years (?) and I've been in hospital for most of the past 2 years, so my husband and teen daughter have been tending it. I Hate It!!! No matter what, I never feel it's clean enough. Also, the high end black oven door exploded (!) so now we have to buy an entire new oven. The cupboards have sustained water damage and cabinets have damage from running into the ceiling fan. I can't believe we demoed the kitchen and dining room, finished the kitchen and now, need a new one again!
Hey Mai, you can most definitely paint over that canvas wall art! You may need to use something like a gesso to cover up the existing paint. Just look up some you tube videos, lol!
When you called the wall art cheap and crappy but it matches my green, black, and white theme of my room and it’s hanging above my bed😅🙃

Argh...I LOVE ikea but the nearest store in any direction is 7 hours away and shipping costs are ridiculous... we drive to Toronto or Winnipeg every few years and CRAM the car full...I feel a trip coming on soon! ❤ thanks for the inspiration
I’ve been wanting the adjustable kids desk for SO long for my son but they’ve been out stock in my store and I’m pretty sure they may be getting discontinued. I really hope they start stocking something similar in my area.

I love our white cabinets/cupboards/trim however they show dust/dirt very easy!! So, high maintenance. Lol

Pretty sure we have the exact same granite (Santiago). I painted our cabinets myself - Manchester tan by Sherwin Williams. It’s so pretty. Such a soft cream (not pure white). It was a lot of work but totally doable. I would do it again 100 times. My cabinets were red oak stained pretty dark - like orange wood. I love it so much. Do it girl! Call me and I’ll come help ;)

Don't get the same lights in one room. It will get boring so fast. Lamps are so great to add a lot of character and personality to a space. Look at light plans online etc
I wouldn't buy the standing desk from Ikea. I have a much better one from Flexispot that got for only $300 and it came with programmable buttons.

You absolutely can buy big canvas pictures and cover it in white and then paint over it.
I LOVE Ikea but there’s nothing worse than EXPENSIVE Ikea items. If you’re going to spend more than you would on IKEA’s low cost items, then buy it somewhere else where it will be worth the cost.
You can buy a 16 piece set from Bed Bath and Beyond for $20 or $16 if you have a membership. It's called SALT Soft Square 16-Piece Dinnerware Set in White.
Some of those light fixtures look very hard to clean. Others require a very specific bulb, which could up the overall price, and be more work to keep on hand. Just something to keep in mind.
Hey Mai! I enjoyed your video. It gave me so much inspiration to how I want to organize my kitchen knives. The bar rod with hooks I know just want to do with that in my kitchen. I think with the granite you have I wouldn’t go totally white but I’d go a very light grey that has cream/yellow undertones (it would be quite a specific colour, I don’t think you could pick one from online without seeing it in person for sure) so it works with your countertop and backsplash. I really think lighter cupboards though would make your kitchen feel bigger and more open though so I would do it!
