It is a great honor when a Kentucky woman gives you a quilt. It means that she loves you like family. We even paint quilt designs on barns, so when people drive by, they feel loved. In the past, during the American Revolution and Civil War, the barn quilts would represent safe harbor and supplies for American armed forces. When you gift someone a quilt, it means you are welcomed in their home and their heart. Very sweet gift.

My grandmother made all of her children and us grandchildren a quilt and gave to us when we graduated. When she passed there were 5 generations alive and my child was the last quilt top she had hand sewn so I have to get it quilted. She hand sewed all of them and I treasure them so much. She was in her 90’s when she passed and that was a lot of children and grands and greats that she sewed for because she had 7 children alone. She also would give church family and her friends quilts as well. So precious to receive these kind of hand sewn gifts.

As a woman who is also from Kentucky, when someone makes you a quilt it is very special. It is not something we do for just anyone. You have to be a family member to get a free home made quilt. We only quilt for money or family because it is a lot of hard work. Mary made a Beautiful quilt. She chose beautiful fabric and put it together like a professional quilter. Wonderful job Mary and Mom.

American handmade quilts are a treasure. There are Museum here in Americas dedicated to American Quilts and they have virtual tours online of all the Historic Antique Quilts. It's a trade handed down from generation to generation in Families. My grandmother taught me and her mother and grandmother taught her. I haven't made one in years due to Arthritis in my hands. Quilts are also a great Housewarming gifts. Congratulations on the new home. I hope all you wishes and dreams come true for you both. God Bless and know that y'all are loved. ❤🕊❤

I have the quilt that was made for my grandparents . They had a hearing aid store and my grandfather helped a lot of low income people to have hearing aids. He took as payment from them items such as home canned jams and foods, fresh eggs, etc BUT the quilt given as payment melted his and grandmas heart. Your new quilt is definitely heirloom quality!!
Bravo all those who sent the fabulous boxes!!

The McCormick Bag and Season is a way to make a pot roast in a 9X13 inch pan. The bag keeps your pan clean. You put your roast and vegetables and supplied seasoning in the bag and bake it in a 9X13 pan. Follow the directions on the package for amount of water and time. You can use a package of dry gravy mix to thicken the juices for gravy if you have one laying around. I usually make a flour slurry to thicken my pan juices into gravy.

My theory is that at age 40 the warranty on the body runs out. From age 40 and on your memory starts going. Your body starts cracking and making sounds when you stand or move around. You walk into a room and stop, looking around because you can't remember what you was there for.

Sorry about your momma. I hope you have a few of the quilts she made with her own hands. We have a quilt made together by two of my great great grandmothers for their son and daughter's wedding. I like having a "warm" 😆 connection to my gg-grandmothers besides the cold black and white family photos. Be sure your children and grandchildren know exactly who made those quilts. Sorry I'm rambling. Lost my Dad three years ago, so i know there's not much i can say to make anything better. I hope your June flies by i guess?

You look very tired Recky, do you feel alright? From someone that makes lap quilts I know how much trouble Mary went through to make the quilt for you! Well, it's no trouble when you are making quilts with love, I meant the amount of work that goes into making a proper quilt, I used to help my Grandma when I was young by cutting the pieces out for her, myself, I just make quilts, I don't make them fancy like that one. Just squares and rectangles mostly! I don't have time to get fancy!

I LOVE Stovetop stuffing! The Sage, Herbs and cornbread flavors are my fav! I eat it as a side dish along with Chicken usually or sometimes I make a box and just eat it alone! You can also make casseroles etc... with it but it can be eaten as a stand alone side dish with meat and a vegetable (in America meals typically have a meat, a side of starch, pasta, etc - like mashed potatoes, mac n cheese, stuffing...etc... and a vegetable)
I would totally buy a quilt off Mary. I LOVE the cat pattern, the colors and style. She did a WONDERFUL job.

I make a meatloaf mixture and flatten it into a 13 by 9 inch rectangle on a cloth. Then I make the Stove Top as per directions and flatten it on top of the meatloaf mixture covering it all. Then roll it like you would a jelly roll from the short end. Place it in your loaf pan ( lined with parchment paper) and bake as you would a meatloaf. Lift it out and slice after resting. Makes pretty pinwheels.

If you want to do a taste test sampling of the shake and bake you don't need to use the whole pouch at once. Shake some out int a plate and dredge your meat thru it. Wrap up the unused pouch if seasoning in a zip lock bag. Then you can do a taste test if multiple. When my husband was single he could make his shake and bake last a long time by using some and storing the rest

Slottsstek is what google says is Swedish for pot roast... Homemade quilts are given to those we care deeply about, they are truly a labor of love! I have 2 my maternal Grandmother, my "Mamaw" Potter made and I will pass them to my son and he will pass them to his children, someday.. You are now family to Mary and you are loved...Tammie from Kentucky, now in Tennessee..

😍😍😍WOW! Your pantry will be stocked for years! How about a family BBQ with the seasonings? I would love to see what the grandkids think of the flavors. I like to cut potatoes, coat them with olive oil, put one of the seasonings on them, and roast them in the oven. The quilt is a stunning piece and an heirloom to be handed down in the family. Your love and generosity is felt!💗

You can just make a box of stove top stuffing and eat it with any meat, potatoes rice. It's just an added on side dish. Very good. A lot of times we use stuffing at Thanksgiving with the turkey and this is just a quick way to make the stuffing in a box. You love your boxes. I love watching you. Thank you for all the beautiful videos
Just butter and water is really all you need to make this stuffing. You don't have to add anything to it. Just a little side note there

The caramel onion seasoning is good to make homemade hamburger steaks or meatloaf as well or even meatballs in brown gravy on rice or cream potatoes
