@mixedandmashed Copied from Etsy Seller Handbook: “You can use punctuation and some symbols in your titles to separate phrases and Etsy search will still be able to read each of those phrases to see if they match with a shopper’s search. When writing your titles, be sure to include your most descriptive keywords but keep a buyer in mind, not a computer. Adding long lists of keywords to your titles may confuse buyers or turn them off your listings. For example, this kind of title might be difficult for a buyer to understand at a glance: “Personalised washbag men’s leather washbag groomsmen gift add a monogram”. "
@dylanjahraus What is your advice regarding commas in the title? I notice you don't use them and wonder if it keeps your search terms limited to what's between each one.

Hi! First of all, thank you for your great videos, they are really very helpful. I have now watched several of your SEO tutorials and I don't understand one point that you keep repeating. After you have written a lift for a title, you say you should duplicate it, add a new photo and then write it again differently. I don't understand this step, should I use the first or second listing? I am from Germany and don't understand everything. Thank you very much!
Thank you for sharing your shop name! Please reach out to me on IG and we will chat! Its @DylanJahraus you will just need to add GROWTH1 as a code in the message :)
The comma is just appropriate literacy however doing it Dylan’s way you could get about twice the amount of long tail keywords within the title. Most people use commas but it’s not required and what Dylan is saying is that you are missing out on more long tail keywords assign comers or other characters. Customers aren’t staring at the title thinking that’s incorrect. Dylan knows her stuff! Trust me!
So helpful. I hear so many contradicting information, could you please clarify. I heard that you should not duplicate words in titles and tags, but I noticed you did duplicate words. Also, people use lines or commas to separate words, should this not be done for optimisation. TIA

I started using Alura app and it shows how accurate your listing is done and the rating of it. When I use the same word for 3 or more times, it shows the lower score of the listing. But you show 4 and more times using the same word, for example: "candle" in listing title. Do you usually make like that and it gives good results?
We go over this in our 1:1 program. Please send me a message on IG @DylanJahraus and add GROWTH1 in the message and I would be happy to get that to you!
Huh? What about indexing? Ur product needs to be able to be indexed in certain categories to match people's querys with an exact match I have way more chances of showing higher when someone types cinnamon candle rather just candle the broader the harder to rank
Wow you helped me out NONE. What use to be advertised as “Unique handmade Items” is now A joke. Can you explain to me why the top ranked store sells cheaply made jewelry. It is not even real gold or silver or crafted?handmade? I tell my husband I don’t want that cheap crap and it looks like it also. Other then your now allowing mass produced, drop shipped items that have no value other then reproduced. When there are sellers with hand made one of A kind stuff, rare, as you promote to begins with!
Dylan, thank you so much for trying to help new Etsy shop people! But I have to say, you go through things, that are "kindergarten level" to you so fast that us "preschoolers" can't grasp what you're talking about. It may be rudimentary to you but it is new to us, your target audience. Would you please slow down and explain even the most basic things because I (we) don't understand what your saying, even though it is the most basic to you. ruclips.net/video/8wpuSyXQNkU/видео.html
Hi Dylan, former military here. Spouses can make or break a service member, so thanks for what you do. Question, I'm brand new to Etsy. Your SEO tips seem to conflict with "Etsy Consultant" on his video, "How To Do Etsy SEO In 10 Minutes - 2024 EDITION" (ruclips.net/video/OPElFduVPf4/видео.htmlsi=5tDw3WzvTc2F4Nmz). I don't know who is more correct and am now confused. Based on his suggestions, I'm putting commas in my product titles. And, I may have misunderstood him, but he seems to say that there's no need to use a word or term more than once between the product title and it's tags because the Etsy algorithm will combine them together into keywords from different parts of the title or tags. So, for example, he'll use "gift for" as a tag and the algorithm will then use that in conjunction with any "who's" I put in the title or other tags. If I have "dad," "mom," "sister," etc anywhere else in the tags or titles, the algorithm will see my listing as including the keywords "gift for dad," "gift for mom," "gift for sister," etc. Also, he explained that the product description isn't indexed or searched at all by Etsy's SEO engine. I thought I heard you say it is. So, I'm very confused now. Can you shed any light?

Search engines strip out ALL punctuation, so it doesn't matter for them. You should separate thoughts with commas for clarity for human readers

@mixedandmashed Copied from Etsy Seller Handbook:
“You can use punctuation and some symbols in your titles to separate phrases and Etsy search will still be able to read each of those phrases to see if they match with a shopper’s search.
When writing your titles, be sure to include your most descriptive keywords but keep a buyer in mind, not a computer.
Adding long lists of keywords to your titles may confuse buyers or turn them off your listings. For example, this kind of title might be difficult for a buyer to understand at a glance:
“Personalised washbag men’s leather washbag groomsmen gift add a monogram”. "
@dylanjahraus What is your advice regarding commas in the title? I notice you don't use them and wonder if it keeps your search terms limited to what's between each one.

Hi! First of all, thank you for your great videos, they are really very helpful. I have now watched several of your SEO tutorials and I don't understand one point that you keep repeating. i though the title needed to have comma between the different terms, maybe it is only in french because im in France?
The comma is just appropriate literacy however doing it Dylan’s way you could get about twice the amount of long tail keywords within the title. Most people use commas but it’s not required and what Dylan is saying is that you are missing out on more long tail keywords assign comers or other characters. Customers aren’t staring at the title thinking that’s incorrect. Dylan knows her stuff! Trust me!
That is correct!

So helpful. I hear so many contradicting information, could you please clarify. I heard that you should not duplicate words in titles and tags, but I noticed you did duplicate words. Also, people use lines or commas to separate words, should this not be done for optimisation. TIA

This depends on what strategy you are using. Are you using long tail and short tail keywords?

I started using Alura app and it shows how accurate your listing is done and the rating of it. When I use the same word for 3 or more times, it shows the lower score of the listing. But you show 4 and more times using the same word, for example: "candle" in listing title. Do you usually make like that and it gives good results?

Would you please slow down and explain even the most basic things because I (we) don't understand what your saying, even though it is the most basic to you.

I understand where you are coming from. How long have you had your shop?
