Everyone says THIS is the best Metroid game next to Super, and damn. So effin' smooth, even the dropped ammo. So reminiscent of past boss battles in the OG games as well as that Nintendo boss battle feel, the MUSIC is BOSS period, adrenaline mixed in with a bit of paranoia and dread, just extremely well done.
The ending of this game always terrified me because the death of the Metroid Queen would mean the emergence of an even greater threat that could end the universe as we know it.
X is waaay worse than the Metroids lol i mean look at SA.X OML i hated those chase scenes so much and the fact that it was an enemy that you could never even fight easily even fully armed
@williamthomas6947 It's because SA-X was a copy of you at full power so you would need full power to fight it(though technically you would be able to kill it from the time you got plasma beam but the computer(it didn't really start being "Adam" until it loaded Adam's personality when mentioned by Samus) deliberately tried to keep Samus away from it because it and the corrupt Federation faction didn't want you killing it. Which is also the reason they never sent you plasma and you had to essentially get lucky and get it from Nettori. They wanted you to survive but they didn't want you to actually be able to threaten SA-X and the Computer got worried when you got Plasma and took great pains to try to keep you from running into SA-X
3DS metroid 2 some times recieves some unfair crticism, and there are many, many thins to love about it. Yet a thing I cannot forgive is how it delegated Queen Metroid In a sort of penultimate boss status. She deserves the justice that AM2R gives. Both are awesome, and is good knowing that we got some modern takes on this thing.

Shoehorning a fucking RIDLEY fight at the end of Samus Returns was a terrible idea. Completely shat on their own lore and it ruined the unique end of Metroid II as you ponder your wondrous new companion and the brutality of the genocidal mission you just completed.
192 damage in a single hit. I'm going to go out there and say this is the most damaging attack in the whole metroid series, unless I'm forgetting something ridiculous.
@@Cri_Jackal The Omega Metroid in fusion can deal up to 2098 damage in one swing, since its attack before getting the SA-X suit drops you to 1hp no matter what. Barring that, Mother Brain's rainbow beam in Super does over 300 damage (over 700 if you don't have varia equipped).
Damn, I don't remember the AM2R's Metroid Queen music being such a bop. That's pretty badass to listen to. I love music that progresses and builds up as the fight goes on. That spritework is beautiful too. I don't think I've ever actually watched someone play AM2R (and certainly never played it myself. I should see about fixing that...
hey, we all have our struggles. I spent 16 years trying to get past the water part in the beginning Metroid Prime. I literally just got the power bombs in that game. The only metroids I beat were zero mission fusion super metroid and II.

It's a weird situation where the creator can't update the base game, but can still release update patches as a separate file that players can apply to the base game to update it.
As good as the official remake is AM2R does it much better, my issue with the original is that it tried to do what fusion does and force you on a linear path rather than giving you the choice of exploring and it doesn’t do it well the official remakes world always have everything just barely out of reach before just giving you the capabilities to go to those things. Also they made ice beam seperate from the other beams

This actually looks like a struggle, as it should. Great visual detail with it taking damage and reacting to powerful attacks. Interesting how they made her projectiles look and act like modified X.
Unless something changed between versions, Fusion mode *is* the hardest difficulty, after Normal and Hard. In addition to taking much more damage, you also need to deal with a Core-X enemy after defeating most bosses.

@@danamation6480 What? The Omega absolutely is a Metroid, only one baby Metroid escaped the secret laboratory before it blew up. It’s no more a Metroid than the ones on SR388. That’s the only reason it was even able to evolve was that it was a direct clone of an SR388 Metroid in an SR388 environment. It being a clone or not wouldn’t effect how it behaves.
@@danamation6480 I stated that it’s a clone. I’m saying that it being a clone doesn’t change the fact that it’s still an SR388 Metroid. If you clone a sheep in real life it doesn’t magically become different from how normal sheep are. And as I also stated previously, it’s alive because it escaped the secret laboratory as a larva before that section was destroyed.
@@chimerarayet9360 To unlock fusion mode without beating the game at 100%, I think you need to modify the game's code. I'm not sure if having 100% in a prior version will immediately unlock Fusion mode once you update it. Doing so will make you miss the secret ending however.

It is so weird that in Fusion Suit that Samus is capable to use the Ice Beam despite having a Metroid DNA.
She uses it at the end of Fusion because she absorbs the SA-X which i suppose, fused with the suit and let her shoot ice beam without harm

The ice beam separated was as much as an offender to the lack of moonwalk in free-aim, and no single wall jump. 'Kills the charm for me.

Saving them for the final phase where its harder.

You need to have AM2R version 1.4.3. And then you unlock Fusion mode by beating the game with 100% items.
