  • Sonny Puzikas: I started in this world in 1969. That’s when my parents decided to deliver me into this cruel world. I was born in Lithuania which at that point was part of a great old evil empire called Soviet Union. My parents were, one of the parents Lithuanian one Russian so I’m kind of a mutt, mixed blood. And I grew up in a city that had quite a bit of a reputation for being a little bit violent and a little bit of a criminal element present in it. Then because of my mixed blood I kind of had to deal with, Lithuanians as a nation are quite a how can I say this politely, nationalistic. So I had to deal with a little bit of that growing up, going through school and everything else, and I developed at first I guess an interest that very very quickly grew into passion for martial arts. I started training I know it sounds childish because I was child age. I started training at the age of six. So it has been forty-one year journey so far. As a result of that I just kind of stayed passionate with it and then joined organization that was in former Soviet Union, which was voluntary. I say it with kind of sarcasm. Voluntary organization to support army, navy and air force, which was, the organization was active in every school. And as part of that organization we participated in all kinds of competition, orienteering, skiing and running, obstacle courses, and you were allowed, you basically participated in shooting exercises on the military bases. So it was always great to skip a biology class and go shoot an AK. Apparently because I performed pretty well at that, plus by the time I was eighteen, I actually did earn my first black belt in one of my martial arts and once I was called for basic training, shortly thereafter I was offered to train and try out for the special purpose unit.
Organ harvesting is an old business. Organ harvesting is something that can happen since eighties possibly before. It was happening in Chechnya. It was happening in Bosnia. It was happening in Kosovo. Its happening to a certain degree in certain African countries, Peshawar in Pakistan. Now is in Syria. Organ harvesting is very simple business. There are many people, most of them in western countries willing to pay top dollar for organs that are needed to sustain or maintain their life. The supply of those organs is very very short. Some people that moral code is obviously very different from ours, saw a huge business opportunity. Because you can sell a kidney for I don’t know fifty thousand eighty thousand dollars. The thing about it is that for that organ to be viable it has to be removed from a living human being. And its being done to children living in Syria. In certain circles I can tell you that the guess is that that over fifty per cent of those organs do travel to the United States of America. And people that do that, and that buy those organs and that put it in their patients, they know it. This is not unknown to them.
