Buzzclaw never made his debut on Beast Wars series back in 1997, because it would be interesting to have more Fuzor transformers beside Quickstrike and Silverbot
@RowdyRodimus A large part of what got me into Transformers in the first place WAS Beast Wars. I had never had any real interest in cars that became robots, and Beast Wars kindled a love for the mythos, the character, and the gimmick. It is true that some of the BW figures are abysmal, largely it was a well done toy line, and through good marketing and a great show, it brought Transformers back from the brink of death. Like it or hate it, Beast Wars is essential to the TF storyline.
Hmm what you said that looks like a Doctor who Monster. I think it's the one that got slaughtered at the start of The Brain of Morbius, The only differnce is... No wings for the poor creature.
I know this is an old review but this one hurt I loved this figure as a kid, love the design of both the beast and robot mode I admit dumbest weapon ever with that backpack but something about this guy led to many hours of fun with him and the rest of my toys as as kid
I wonder, does the tail shield actually clip onto the legs at all, or does it just hover there? I got this figure at a flea market and honestly never noticed for years he was missing the shield. I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying it on eBay to complete the figure.
Hi Spada - Not sure if it was mentioned, but the creature you were talking about from elsewhere might have been a similar creature from Power Rangers: the Movie which was giant and silvery blue. And I'm sure it only had two legs.
Just my opinion, but if Beast Wars was the first ever Transformers toy line it would have been the last. Going from animal to animal upright with a robot head just really doesn't have the same magic as vehicles and ordinary items being alive and being living Robots in disguise. While they improved articulation with the line, it honestly hurts it in the long run- pieces come off too easy and get lost, ball joints loosen horribly, etc. Maybe it's nostalgia but G1 kicks BW ass.
Like you said, lose the parts and it's useless. I actually lost 98% of my Buzzclaw, in fact, the only part I do have is the back-pack, sans wings. But oddly that doesn't stop me at all; I can spend hours just fucking with that one dumb gimmick. HOURS. I use it to decapitate my other figures, give it to them as a weapon so they can do the same, etc...In fact for a time I forgot it was anything MORE then a weapon. :P I thought I was so clever when I made it a laser crossbow. But now I'm not sure..
Bipedal insects are a timeless trope, and mantids are one of the most popular insects. You've probably seen a LOT of bipedal mantids!
Basically Beast Wars Scyther, that's cool.
He looks like a very organic version of the Headmasters Repugnus from G1
The G1 was not head master he was a monstercon it would be great if they was like the dinobots but only 3 members...
They actually used this mold for a Repugnus figure at one point. Can't remember what continuity it was for.
I was convinced this was a Kamacurus toy, that HAPPENS to transform
I'd say his Repugnus version is the best, and makes that beast mode look really good.
Personally, I like it. I love the bright colors on it and that’s what drew me to buy it.
Honestly he looks like a real life zorak from space ghost coast to coast

Tigerhawk he was a fuzor
You might b thinking of scyther from pokemon
i seriously would have to loved if the show kept goin and featured alot of the toys into the show
I like him I wish he was in the show I can kinda see his personality
Another one I loved growing up. I loved both his modes and had so much fun with him.
I just realized this guy kind of looks like scyther from Pokémon
The "clapping" part was funny

a lizard mixed with a mantis. that's just scyther silly.
Hmm what you said that looks like a Doctor who Monster. I think it's the one that got slaughtered at the start of The Brain of Morbius, The only differnce is... No wings for the poor creature.
this reminds me of scyther from Pokémon
The clear plastick dont breaking while transforming amaze me
I think I had this figure when I was young.
omg so cute like a baby mantis
This is the very first Beast Wars toy I ever owned, alongside Bantor.
There's a two legged mantis thing in yugioh
All (I think) mantis have two legs
@@aladder2947 6 legs like all insects. The first pair act as arms, the remaining ones are for walking.
According to Buzzclaw's instructions, you don’t need to remove the Praying Mantis Wings & Claws and the Lizard tail, it’s very simple keep them on.
I used the wings and his tail as a cape of some sort
I had him and thought it was great my only complaint was the wings but I fixed that by switching them
Buzz Claw is voiced by the late Tony Jay.
He looks way more like a fusion of a mantis and a wasp
Had this one too so many memories
That beastmode looks like Brundlefly
I know this is an old review but this one hurt
I loved this figure as a kid, love the design of both the beast and robot mode
I admit dumbest weapon ever with that backpack but something about this guy led to many hours of fun with him and the rest of my toys as as kid
i had it, and i loved it
dont ask what happened
just, i dont have it anymore
The great buzzclaw winner of the games, poor guy
The clear red on mines face looks like a scar because half of the face is red also this is my favorite beast wars figure
hes adorable
I had this guy and he was missing a lot of parts and I never knew what he was
Actually there is another lizard bit if you look closely there is a lizard jaw under the mantis mandibles
I wonder, does the tail shield actually clip onto the legs at all, or does it just hover there?

Clips into the back of the hips.
I can actually see lizard claws on the mantis arms...
buzz claw?? since when does a mantis buzz?
no lizard is just legs & tales

The wing thing looks like fish gills
The tail is also a lizard bit.
the starscream fuzor
Monsterbot Repugnus is what you're thinking of.
Ezilla82 I agree it is simular to a more organic version of repugnus
I totally had this when I was little lol.
my god, is there any good beast transformer toy out there????
I still have it
looks like some friend to waspinator
He looks pretty decent btw maximal or predacon
Ryan Overcash buzzclaw is a predecon, but his mold was reused & repainted in a different transformers line as an autobot (i dont know why)

Maybe it's nostalgia but G1 kicks BW ass.
RowdyRodimus But the thing is that G1's toys suck ass to be honest.
@@genericyoutubechannel3790 Oh, they were alright - for the time. Nowadays they serve for nostalgia and little else.
Check out the enemies in super Metroid and you'll find what you're looking for there dude
Like you said, lose the parts and it's useless. I actually lost 98% of my Buzzclaw, in fact, the only part I do have is the back-pack, sans wings. the doctor who villein is called a reaper
The only repaint I know is universe repugnus. Deceptiwolf reviewed universe repugnus.
you forgot the tail being lizard
wait the robot mode looks kinda like waspinator.
watch out, he pokes! lol
WHERE DO I BUY IT
@shadowmax889 that depends on your point of view
Scyther?
lmao i had this thing... i forgot about him
@RowdyRodimus It's nostalgia.....
isn't manterror a praying mantis? why do another one?
this was a fuzor not a regular mantis
5:25 I would think it's to grab other guys.
in bug mode the orange make him look like he is wearing leggings
Repugnus
