Great choice! Very cool memory for me too now that I talked to you about this watch and tried it on with you before you made the purchase. It's a beauty! Congrats!
@@BruceWilliams highly recommend "The Strap Tailor" for a good custom leather. David is awesome to work with. Made that crazy strap I had on my Zenith haha.
Great Navi model. I like the new Navitimer's for the color - especially the mint green and ice blue. This model however captures all the history while looking fantastic. Congrats Bruce. Your recent Navitimer interest has made me decide to get one for my 40th birthday. Now to decide on what model to get.
@@BruceWilliams I’ve been looking at the B01 Navitimer. My only “issue” - I want to be able to swim with it - not in 100 feet of water, but just in the pool. Deepest I’d go is maybe 15 feet tops. From what I’ve read, you shouldn’t take a Navitimer into the water. If that’s the case, I’d rather go with the DATEJUST. Any insight on how water “resistant” the Navitimer is? Again, the B01 is pretty close to the cost of the DATEJUST (with the DATEJUST being water “proof” up to 100m).
You were talking about that Breitling quite a bit while here in Lancaster. So happy you went with this piece instead of ANOTHER (think you've owned 5) Marine Master. Congratulations, it's really beautiful and iconic. Enjoy it!
Beautiful watch , perfect choice and as you pointed out it's the perfect size at 41mm it really is the sweet spot, I'm lucky enough to have a 58 AOPA it's one of my best watches I adore it .. Congrats...
I don't blame you. Breitling has been killing it lately. I was my AD a couple of weeks ago and tried on their Chronomat 42 with the copper/bronze dial and it is now on the short list. I liked it so much I am leaning towards taking myself off the waiting list for the Explorer II and picking that up instead. They had one of these Navitimers there as well and it really is a beautiful watch as well. Congrats on the new watch...nothing like. I finally added a Monaco to my collection last week. Keep em coming.
Awesome classic navitimer. I love the technical complex dial and the fact that it was the original analog calculator watch for pilots derived from the chronomat that also had the slide rule chronograph. It reminds me of early military aircraft gauges like bell and Ross watches but the Navitimer is the grandfather!
I've been thinking about upgrading from my 41mm Valjoux navitimer. This one is definitely on my radar. If I get this one, it may be my final navitimer. It's hard to beat this one. Great video!
congratulations - and thank you for that great review! yes, the bracelet of the New Navitimer fits the 806 Re-Edition, though if you want it “period correct”, a Milanaise mesh is the better choice. And your idea of a tan/honey strap that matches the lume is a great idea, these work very well with the 806.
Great watch! I managed to pick one up when they released the model back in 2019. Other than the 22mm ocean classic bracelet I too would be interested to find out which other 22mm Navitimer bracelet would fit. Please keep us updated.
It's fantastic, Bruce, but how is it to read at a glance? I find I sometimes have to stare at a busy face for a few seconds until my brain can puzzle out what I m looking at.
I would say it's easy to read. The only issue is from time to time the reflections get intense, and the hands are close to the same length so they could be mixed up at a glance
I own a 1962 AOPA and absolutely love it. Slight correction though, the new one is slightly larger and thicker vs the original as I’ve held mine side by side with the new version for comparison. They’ve done a cracking job with the new one though, really outstanding watch. Added bonus is there’s no radium paint on the dial like mine has!
Thats an amazing trip and a nice find. I've been wanting to get this from Breitling Australia online and from ADs for months but it never came. This should be a non-limited edition. And they should re-issue the ref 806 1965 panda version too.
Bruce, I really like the direction the brand is moving in, under the management of, Georges Kern. I'm a big fan of Breitling, past and present. A lot of their models, really speak to me. If I had to choose one, it would definitely be the 'Chronomat.' I think you made the right move, pairing the 'Navitimer,' w/ the mesh strap. IMHO, it really suits it. Thanks for sharing it w/ us
Hello, I have this watch and I would like to wear it with a Breitling mesh bracelet. By contacting the manufacture, they told me that their 22 mm mesh bracelet was not compatible. I don't understand because I imagine your strap is also 22mm?
I go to the local ones in Utah. I help plan them along with John here and a few others. I love going to PA though. So many horological related attractions. Id like to do them more often as well as in other parts of the country
Great video as always! I’m looking to buy one of the latest model of Navitimer, but I also want a GO Pano MaticLunar. Since you have these two, which one do you enjoy more 🤣
Can you tell us more about the sapphire coating you mentioned and its durability v regular plexiglass and sapphire. This is the 1st time I’ve heard of any such thing . . .
That’s what came to my mind soon he will flip it but in honesty to get another piece for us to to enjoy watching video about but make him a good offer lol😂
Oh ok mate. Thanks for the reply. But I’m still left wondering why they just don’t use 100% sapphire, but instead just a thin layer put over the plexiglass… either way it’s all good. Beautiful watch. And congrats.
Bruce, when you do sell this watch, keep me in mind, as I'd like the opportunity to buy it and add it to my pilot watch collection. Retired USMC, corporate and airline pilot B-777.
Similar thing happened to me. I stopped by the Breitling store, just to look around. Once I tried on a Breitling watch, there was a connection to it that I could not pass up.
@@BruceWilliams , I purchased the Aviator 8, 43 Curtiss Warhawk Chronograph with the B01 movement. I love the watch. I felt a connection since my grandfather was building engines for the P40 before enlisting in the Army during WWII
From everything I’ve read - you can NOT get the Navitimer anywhere NEAR water other than washing your hands. Even if you just walk into a swimming a pool, that’s a big “no no”.
Congratulations for the new Breitling. Love this brand too. I would definitely go for the mesh bracelet from the Breitling Superocean Heritage. The quality is top, the clasp very thin and adjustable and it’s tapering so well. I think it would look much better as the Staibmesh and matches better cause it although a Breitling bracelet. Greetings

Bruce, your Navi reissue is an awesome piece and it looks Killer on the Staib thick mesh, it just works so well.
Breitling is incredible. The sapphire treatment they do is the best in the business.
