Helicopter is also used to check the electric lines and to find where trees have to be removed.

On lakes the snow is often compacted by the wind, so it's easier to ski there

A thing you might be on the lookut for when it's really cold is sundogs and other halos. I saw sundogs during a really cold week in Northern Sweden in the early 80s, it can be pretty spectacular.

A small advice; if you are expecting temperature below minus 25 C you should take the battery of of car inside during the night.
And if you could let the engine go for a while before you start your journey.

In sweden we use engine and cabin heaters during winter.

Oh I didn´t hear about taking out the battery... interesting! We are letting her run a wile before driving though. But yes, our car has an engine heater installed - were just missing an extension cord to use it. :D

If it will actually get that cold I sure will capture that! :) But temperature predictions here are never really accurate.

I grew up at the 57th parallel. I think your probably near the 60th.
    Vancouver is about the 49th.

We are not fully sure honestly - but the car was purchased in the area, so we assume so.

We don't do thanksgiving at all. But Sweden is a multicultural place now, so people enjoy the traditions of their former countries. it's a cool thing!

Yeah, in the US Thanksgiving is in November - I always thought it´s interesting how it is one month apart compared to Canada. :)

Northern Sweden is certainly spectacular in the winter with the snow diamonds, and everything blanketed with snow. We don't have much snow in the Pacific NW (Seattle, WA USA). Usually we receive 3"-4" of snow where I live and it melts within a few days. Occasionally we'll have snow for a week but that's rare. We don't have temperatures nearly as cold as you do. I'd be afraid of frostbite. It's clever how you have a hot water bottle tucked into your coveralls.❄☃⛷🏂

We are used to the Seattle winters as well, so we're really excited about this change. :)
