I could have waited until my fun money had a few hundred more for the Pro, but I'm not having any buyers remorse. I'm using a crappy regular grey screen with zero issues. When my lenticular screen arrives tomorrow I'm sure I will be blown away. (100 inch rhone screen for $300 during prime day. I can now save for a fresnel screen).
Update for anyone interested. The Rhone screen made a huge difference as expected and at the price my only other option would be the LTV-2500 (lag, dolby vision and 3d requirements). The NexiGo isn't as crisp which really only is noticeable when gaming, but the black floor is great across all applications. The big issue that I wish I would have known about prior is that Dolby Vision on the Nexigo is capped at 4k/60 and the input lag from the xbox series x with Dolby Vision for gaming turned on is horrible. I don't have any testing equipment, but it is bad enough that I wouldn't play any type of game on it except maybe a turn-based game. 4K120 gaming is great, but no Dolby Vision so you are limited to HDR10.

This guy is doing all your homework in deciding which projector is right for you. Hands down the best reviewer and in-depth testing of projectors. Well done.😊
I agree with you about the 24P mode for my Formovie Theater 4k. After a ton of experimentation, I just let the Apple TV do the conversion. It's much better at it and seamless. I would also get sometimes some serious frame jumps on some content and even that wasn't consistent. Thank you for the very helpful review that supports much of my research and when I personally saw most of the UST projectors you reviewed in person! We're going to purchase Hisense's PX3-Pro, and we may also buy the C2-Ultra Portable projector so we can move it around to several rooms and even on the large white wall in our back yard for family evening movie fun times!
Really surprising that this is just the comparison I was looking for. Many roads lead to to the HiSense and AWOL 3000/3500 Pro but this was most helpful!
Been looking forward to this video for a while! Great videos and always so thorough! Hoping to buy my UST within the next month to have it ready for all the upcoming holiday parties!
GREAT STUFF! What is the quietest projector you have ever tested? I need two side by side for a recording studio where the noise level must be minimal!! Note - it doesn't have to be a "Short Throw" projector... I appreciate the help!
Thanks for the thorough review! You touched lightly on one of the factors I am very curious about though, and I wish it could have been a comparison for all... you mentioned the throw distance between the two Epsons, and that one was only 4.5" I think? For me, that is a major factor since it determines what type of console/furniture will go below the screen. Please expand on this if you don't mind???
When I'm introducing the projectors at the beginning of the video I've got all their throw distances listed (height is distance from the feet of the projector to the bottom of the screen, and depth is distance from the back of the projector to the front of the screen).
Watching this seems like the ls650 is super under rated. That thing is BRIGHT, and after checking it out today myself, it's perfect for my living room. It's always got ambient light, and this thing on a 150" fresnel screen will look stellar
Wow...thanks for this super detailed comparison, you've just saved me £2.7k! I was about to buy the AWOL LTV3000 but the blacks on the more powerful 3500 in this test are awful. I didn't expect OLED level (even though it's a 2017 OLED I'd be upgrading from), but I did expect better than that dark blue.
I love this video: honestly speaking you're the best, and Thank You Very Much! I was considering the Hisense PX3-Pro and Xgimi Aura 2. I understand the Hisense has better hardware, but I will buy the Xgimi Aura 2 because there are 5 features I love about it: Auto Focus, Uninterrupted Auto Keystone, Wall Flatness Adaption, Wall Color Adaption and Screen Alignment Assist. If the Hisense had all these 5 features, I'd have chosen it. I want a device that automatically corrects the image on the wall, and there is no other UST projector that can offer these 5 features. Therefore, I will choose Xgimi Aura 2 and Thank You Very Much for the best video review I've ever watched! Bravo! 👏🏻
@@TheHookUpI need a UST projector since I'd like to project the image on the wall in the living room to watch movies, tv series, sports and maybe video games. EDIT: I'm also thinking about buying the Horizon S Max 🤔
The most important thing that prevents me from buying Nexigo Aurora Pro is the blurry corners, I think it could be much better, at least very important when playing games, where it is necessary to read information very frequently. The results on the rest of areas still being amazing. I was specting to buy th Hisense PX3-Pro here in Spain.
I agree with you 100%, it is the only downfall of the Nexigo. PX3-Pro is phenomenal and I think the only issue that some may have with it is laser speckle.

I’m in the process of moving, so it hasn’t been set up yet. And for those who are wondering why anyone would buy a projector over a 98” LED TV, well, I retired about 8,000 miles from America, so there was a slight difference in Amazon freight forwarding charges. 😉 Not to mention moving from multi-level apartment buildings that don’t have elevators.
The comparison all UST enthusiast have been waiting for. Would any of these results change with a lenticular screen? Or might they all perform similarly compared to each other?

Fantastic video! Thanks so much for the detailed comps. If I'm planning on going with a 150in screen, does that change the ratings or consideration? In other words, is there a noticable drop in quality in one projector more than another when scaling up to that size image. I've specifically been looking at the PX3 Pro and AWOL 3500 Pro.
Fantastic as always, appreciate the thoroughness! Just curious..you turn off match frame rate and range on your Apple TV ? Does this allow the Apple TV to manage or the projector? Thanks for all your efforts !!

Can you compare the Valerion visionmaster with the Hisense px3 pro and Nexigo aurora pro? I would be very interested because the Valerion Pro 2 and the max supposedly have 15000:1 dynamic and 4000:1 native contrast.
@@marcelonigra6741 It doesn't matter. It's all about which one projects the better image! Which one has the better contrast and which one looks more appealing...
Don’t fall for Valerion. There are many scams on kickstarter and I doubt someone with no history of producing anything would make something better and for less. This is not how economy of scale works. See Hisense (big) vs AWOL (small) similar yet Hisense is considerably cheaper

As always your reviews are absolutely the best the net has to offer and I hope that your sponsors recognize you talents. Now, I have a simple question. Bear in mind that my main function would be to use this UST as a computer monitor and although I periodically will watch a movie the overwhelming use will be as a monitor. Here comes the simple question, if you had say 10K to spend, bearing in mind that you also have to purchase a floor-rising screen. What would be your bottom-line projector?
Probably the PX3-Pro for computer use. The Samsung LPU9D may offer slightly more clarity due to the increased DMD size, but I think the PX3-Pro is better overall.

Great review! I am currently using the Hisense 100 L9G and have been debating upgrading to the PX-3 Pro. Is there a big enough difference between them to justify the upgrade. Would love to know your thoughts
Hey! I've been watching your projector match-up videos for a few years and this year based on this video I pulled the trigger on the Hisense Px3-Pro and a ALR Fresnel 120-inch screen. You mentioned you will be using it as your main as well. I really can't find any videos on detail settings (how to calibrate, balance, etc). Would you please do a video? I am sure it will help me and a lot of others.
Excellent video! I have an Artlii enjoy 3 right now and want to upgrade it. Still recommend the Groview JQ818C? or is any better new option under 300usd? (the pj40 doesnt have shipping to my country)
Love the videos, so informative! Ended up getting a deal on the Hisense PL1. What would you recommend as a screen to make up some of its shortcomings? Primarily used for a home theatre movie room, in a dark light controlled environment. Thanks
Have you noticed the DLP chip having dead pixels at a certain point in the chip life? I read alot about how long the laser will last but no one covers the life of the DLP chip and that needs to be a consideration. The reason I ask is I was at a apartments complex theater rooms and it had a VAVA as the projector and it looked like dead pixels everywhere and the projector was only 3 years old. IM sure the unit was sitting there on and no one was watching, but I have a 85 QDOLD Samsung and trying to deicide on a 100 inch LCD or a nice projector, but I keep coming back to the VAVA and the DLP issues. I appreciate your input.
Dead pixels happen in DLP chips at about the same rate as LCD panels, if you read forums you're bound to find people with dead pixel issues, but the majority of projectors have no issue throughout their entire lifespan.
I've had the 100" ALR Hisense L9G setup for a couple of years now and was thinking about treating myself to a new UST box. The ONLY thing I'd say that could use improvement over my L9G is the is bright room experience (I get a TON of light in my living room), but I'm also trying to convince myself that the Dolby Vision support would be worth making the upgrade. The kicker is they're both 3000 Lumens, so I have to think there wouldn't be an improvement. Should I save my money and just wait until my L9G dies?

Just curious..you turn off match frame rate and range on your Apple TV ? Does this allow the Apple TV to manage or the projector?
Thanks for all your efforts !!
Turning off match framerate will cause the appleTV to output 60hz regardless of the source material.
@ thank you!
I sold my awol 3500 yesterday. Now have to decide…Px3 Pro or preorder the aurora pro mk2?
I have light controllable room. Will be using a 100” fresnel screen.
I watch movies and sports mostly. Should I wait for mk2…my preference is less later speckle…waiting for next batch is may/june.
PX3-Pro will have similar speckle to the 3500 pro, Aurora Pro mk2 should have zero.
Have you tested the Hisense PL2? That is on my list along with the PX3 and Aurora pro
I have not.
too much hard works . keep up bro . 👏🏻 good work .👍🏻
Hey, whats the key difference between px3 non pro version vs px3 pro ?
The BenQ V5010i does advertise as having a dynamic black mode. Did it not work properly during the test or is it not a real enhancement?
Can you compare the Valerion visionmaster with the Hisense px3 pro and Nexigo aurora pro? I would be very interested because the Valerion Pro 2 and the max supposedly have 15000:1 dynamic and 4000:1 native contrast.
2 different propositions here, one is UST (PX3-PRO and Aurora PRO), the Valerion is a short/long throw unit.
Don’t fall for kickstarter. Many scams on it and you’re not guaranteed to get anything. I suspect it’s a scam - none of the new companies can create something that beats everyone and yet for much less. Not possible, not how economy of scale works. See Hisense and AWOL - similar yet Hisense beats it on proce
@@whitecrowuk575 Thanks for your opinion, but Valerion is a sister company of awol. And the details of the contrast have been confirmed according to some people. Then it can't really be a scam, can it?
Thanks for the detailed review. I am getting a Nexigo Aurora pro . What projector screen would you recommend?
I was just shopping for a UST projector. Nice
@@TheHookUp Many thanks. As I understand things I can link to amazon from any of your links then go to what i want and you will get credit. Is that right? It will be a few Weeks before I make the purchase but I want to make sure that you get credit
Why not include the Formovie theater in this comparison ?
These videos are the BEST. For my blacked out theater, I bought a Nexigo Aurora Pro based on the last shootout video. However I am seriously overwhelmed by all the picture settings. Can you share your recommended settings that folks should use to get the most accurate OOTB experience?
Thanks for this!
Great review! I am currently using the Hisense 100 L9G and have been debating upgrading to the PX-3 Pro. Is there a big enough difference between them to justify the upgrade. Would love to know your thoughts
Good day, what can you say about the Yaber pro u6 projector? For example, in comparison with the Yaber ace k1
Can you please do a comparison on Nexigo aurora pro vs new Formovie theatre premium?
Would the PX3 PRO work well with Lumagen to create a 2.35:1 ratio?
Excellent video! I have an Artlii enjoy 3 right now and want to upgrade it. Still recommend the Groview JQ818C? or is any better new option under 300usd? (the pj40 doesnt have shipping to my country)
Great work as always. Hope you can get your hands on Valerion pro2 for life style projectors comparison.
Would love to see an update on your ceiling mount options with these new projectors!!
Oh, thanks, it`s cool compare!
Love the videos, so informative! Ended up getting a deal on the Hisense PL1. What would you recommend as a screen to make up some of its shortcomings? Primarily used for a home theatre movie room, in a dark light controlled environment. Thanks
have you tested the Formovie Theater Premium ? if so, how would you compare it to the hisense px3 pro ?
Thanks for testing these projectors for brightness in different rooms..
?
Epson ls 600 or ls 800 Which one would you prefer between these two?
I assume you mean LS650, which is the one I personally prefer.
@TheHookUp thank you!
Great video, do you know which models are capable of pc gaming at 1440p 120hz ?
Thanks
I've had the 100" ALR Hisense L9G setup for a couple of years now and was thinking about treating myself to a new UST box. The ONLY thing I'd say that could use improvement over my L9G is the is bright room experience (I get a TON of light in my living room), but I'm also trying to convince myself that the Dolby Vision support would be worth making the upgrade. The kicker is they're both 3000 Lumens, so I have to think there wouldn't be an improvement. Should I save my money and just wait until my L9G dies?
Thanks Rob!
