    I really really love this video. While there are many saying that this performance is choppy and not the most "amazing," I still think this video does a great job in capturing the essence of marching band and drumline. The excitement, the smiles, and just everyone having a great time. While it's not a perfect performance, it's just a high school stand tune and they have probably had better performances of it as well. I think people are missing the point and should just enjoy the video as it is.

      FACADE Music Of all the hundreds of comments I have got on this, I think yours really hit the mark. That was exactly the point of sharing this. Its a group of high school kids having a fun time. It's not perfect and all those who criticize all the little things are missing the point. This was shot in the fall of 2012 and most of these kids have gone on to perform in college. Just realize what this is....a fun capture of the time they had in high school. When they play this the whole crowd gets into it and the kids have a blast. Thanks for bringing a little perspective to this.

      I know that look. That's the look of someone who wants to he on tenors but is stuck on bass. I had that look throughout high school. I bet that section leader is a bitch too. She counted off because she wanted a solo before the splits. She was the only one happy even though the splits were dirty as hell. I don't want to have to judge her that way (obviously, I don't know her) but I just get that vibe because my bass section leader did the same stuff whenever we played cadences and there was a bass feature. I feel for bass one here.

      it was pretty bad but bass splits are pretty hard, especially when it’s meant to be played on tenors/quads

    • @emily-lq6jf
      @emily-lq6jf 6 лет назад +1

      Lyla Laycre I know there’s different types but I just use the term quads or tenors because it’s just easier for me.
      I’m in middle school percussion and we’re just now learning bass (which I plan on doing for marching/indoor) so I know that splits are pretty sucky haha. I think a bass solo that wasn’t just a repeat of the tenors would have been better.

    • @emily-lq6jf
      @emily-lq6jf 6 лет назад

      Lyla Laycre my concert snare is my baby too along with the bass drums were using at the moment. I suck at anything mallets-wise so I always end up playing something minor like temple blocks and my snare drum in concert band. I think drumset’s overrated and the concept of working with only one “tone” (except tenors of course) to create many other sounds is a lot more fun.

    And suddenly, everyone was watching the stands instead of the field. Great job guys! Great to see a band/drum line big enough to warrant so many tenors and bass. Are you guys in the Midwest? Here on the east coast, band isn't such a big thing. Keep on keeping on. 🎶🎶

      Mr. Kane, this high school is located in the southern suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama. Thank you for your kind comments. Check out some of their past marching shows on my channel. I am about to post this year's show as well. It is an awesome and humbling thing to watch these talented students perform each year. The band has about 200 in total with 160-170 musicians and 30-40 visuals.
