I really really love this video. The excitement, the smiles, and just everyone having a great time. While it's not a perfect performance, it's just a high school stand tune and they have probably had better performances of it as well. I think people are missing the point and should just enjoy the video as it is.

As a bass you are legally required to bop as hard as possible... without messing up your form which she was basically flopping her arms into the bass at that point
Man people hate these guys I thought this cadence was great. Sure a few mistakes here and there but cmon those snares are better than me and mine. They did really well there is no such thing as a 100% show.
We play this with 2 quads 4 snares and 4 basses and we sound way better they play it retarded fast for no reason it doesnt make it even sound any better. Plus since its 2018 now the quads play the song from the default fortnite dance
@@bornesone just cause the snare line did meh doesn't mean they did horrible the quads (quint's) are the main attraction of the song and they sounded good
Our school does this all the time! I play the flute but I have very high respect for the drum line. They are the heartbeat of the band and honestly probably my favorite part! 😊
Well done! Absolutely well done! It's not easy having this piece in sync with that many drummers. You guys and girls did a GREAT job and don't let anyone tell you differently. Some times people feel the need to knock other in attempt to make themselves feel better. Ignore them and keep drummin' away!!!
Bass Solo wasnt the best but then againpeople are judging but they need to realize thats hardd ; threes at that tempo without being choppy at all that's hot.
@Nick does Quad drumming I wrote that comment my second year of bass xD Yeah I completely understand what you're saying but clearly you dont play bass due to the fact that playing bass is a team effort and not just a singular duty. If one person is off, then the whole line sounds off. Yes it's easy to play the same notes (3's/4's) while counting in 8th's but not everyone has the same hands.
@@Paul-tx9dh yeah I get the chops thing, but it was less about chops and more about that second bass was playing first bass's splits, which honestly happens a lot anyway
Mr. Santos, you have to be there to really experience the fun that this band has. It is amazing! This high school has had many talented students that have gone on to lead major SEC schools as drum majors and other leaders. Many of the drummers and other musicians have gone to play at the University of Alabama, Auburn, Samford, UAB, Florida State, and many others. Thank you for your kind remarks.
The most popular and the best sound quality i can't stop watching this though this actually gave me improvement for playing the tenor drums and so does the jig 2
My school was at the same band competition with them yesterday. They were in class 4A and we were in 3A so we got to see their performance. And they left me in awe, not even exaggerating. Their show was amazing!
as a person that has been wanting to be in drum line but my teachers and parents tell me i’m not allowed to, i’m glad i get watch others live to their full potential and give their best effort.
We have a tenor at my school who learned to do this. I love him so much. He's like a big brother to me. At one of my first football games, he played this and the band went wild. We were playing against our biggest rival and so everyone learned the bass drum part so for the whole time everyone in the band was stomping their feet. One of my favorite memories.
DarthYutsi Yeah, they broke drumline rule number one: Split your best players between the different instruments on the line so that all of the sections are tight. Still, much respect for them.
VastHockey The gamer the lights wouldn't change it that much, I can see the opposite side of their jacket on both switches, light is perceived so differently based on the position of the viewer. One is crimson the other is vibrant red.
@@Handleoriginal12 At least we were the ones that invented jig 2, also, even after listening again, I heard no mess-ups. How about you get your ears checked?
Lyla Laycre I know there’s different types but I just use the term quads or tenors because it’s just easier for me. I’m in middle school percussion and we’re just now learning bass (which I plan on doing for marching/indoor) so I know that splits are pretty sucky haha. I think a bass solo that wasn’t just a repeat of the tenors would have been better.
Lyla Laycre my concert snare is my baby too along with the bass drums were using at the moment. I suck at anything mallets-wise so I always end up playing something minor like temple blocks and my snare drum in concert band. I think drumset’s overrated and the concept of working with only one “tone” (except tenors of course) to create many other sounds is a lot more fun.
And suddenly, everyone was watching the stands instead of the field. Great job guys! Great to see a band/drum line big enough to warrant so many tenors and bass. Are you guys in the Midwest? Here on the east coast, band isn't such a big thing. Keep on keeping on. 🎶🎶
Mr. Kane, this high school is located in the southern suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama. Thank you for your kind comments. Check out some of their past marching shows on my channel. I am about to post this year's show as well. It is an awesome and humbling thing to watch these talented students perform each year. well yeah you're going to hit the rim those are 32nd note triplets that are probably around tempo 100 (correct me if I'm wrong)
more like 148-172
Hw about go instead of playing singles play 3s
Just the amount of percussion is crazy
I like how the bands cheers each band mate on! Great support
The girl at 0:43. All I can think of is, "This one time, at band camp...'
Lyla Laycre that’s tuff
She sure looks like she's having a lot of fun lol it's always fun when you get the whole band into it
As a bass you are legally required to bop as hard as possible... without messing up your form which she was basically flopping her arms into the bass at that point
Man people hate these guys I thought this cadence was great. Sure a few mistakes here and there but cmon those snares are better than me and mine. They did really well there is no such thing as a 100% show.
Hawk Frost Someone's salty
@@LoneVII7 hes not wrong you can hear so many mistakes in there.
We play this with 2 quads 4 snares and 4 basses and we sound way better they play it retarded fast for no reason it doesnt make it even sound any better. Plus since its 2018 now the quads play the song from the default fortnite dance
@@bornesone just cause the snare line did meh doesn't mean they did horrible the quads (quint's) are the main attraction of the song and they sounded good
@@nxt4150 the whole line did eh
Tomorrow, this’ll be 12 years old.. assuming there were 17 year old drummers in this band, they’d be 29. Almost 30. Let that sink in
i was literally about to comment this
Our school does this all the time! I play the flute but I have very high respect for the drum line. They are the heartbeat of the band and honestly probably my favorite part! 😊
Thanks for watching!
yo who's the kid on the far right??????? digits?
Oh my god same

He looks like tom cruise
Wish he'd smile at me like that!
The first guy looks like he's great at MW2
-Źéró - you bet it
So true bro
meanwhile the whole bands jumping in the back for 3 minutes stright
Silent same tho
Silent 150
HA
1:39 that’s the most cleanest solo
Well done! Absolutely well done! It's not easy having this piece in sync with that many drummers. You guys and girls did a GREAT job and don't let anyone tell you differently. Some times people feel the need to knock other in attempt to make themselves feel better. Ignore them and keep drummin' away!!!
I didnt know Tobey Maguire played quads
Pizza time
John Doe hahahahahahahahaha
Damn lmao savage
Learned this on quints today lowkey one of the most fun cadence
Good luck and thanks for watching!
My marching band season just ended so this is depressing
SydneysAwkwardTendencies same here bud im so sad, all i can do is watch our competition videos
made state finals recently sorry to hear that
Aidan, Sydney, where do you go, and how'd you do?
It's like quality of life just automatically drops any time it's not band season, and all that's on your mind is when it'll start again.
SydneysAwkwardTendencies I'm watching because my season starts tomorrow morning... irony xD
It's awesome seeing the rest of the band having so much fun. These kids are pretty talented. Just think of how amazing they'll be in college.
Its NanoFusion thanks for watching and please consider subscribing!
My school was at the same band competition with them yesterday. They were in class 4A and we were in 3A so we got to see their performance. And they left me in awe, not even exaggerating. Their show was amazing!
Cindy Qiu Did you happen to see Hewitt Trussville Marching Band?
Yes!!
Cindy Qiu Awesome!! I go to Hewitt!!
The sound of the first guy’s solo never gets old
girl on bass 2 was jammin!! 🤟🏼
bass 2 = best bass :)
I have a quad player at my school that does that same solo. I thought it was original, but I guess not
Timothy Ziegler every drum line knows the jig
hays gaming no bc some Drumlines like playing things with substance
Dominik Kerschbaum Fair enough, i agree the jig is pretty bland/overplayed
Timothy Ziegler I do too....I guess not never mind
hays gaming mine didn’t until I introduced everyone
We legit had a jig 2 that went on so long, our teacher had to stop it!
When you so bored, so you watch some videos after the other side of the world perform some awesome drum videos.
BoneyBoy glad you decided to spend time with our videos. Thanks for watching!
We have a kid who plays this with 1 guy in the background. He goes so fast you can't even see his hands, that boy is a protoge
as a person that has been wanting to be in drum line but my teachers and parents tell me i’m not allowed to, i’m glad i get watch others live to their full potential and give their best effort.
Thanks for watching! And best of luck.
Glad that Jig 2 brought some happiness! Thanks for watching!
Those triplets are just so on point and the snare line is so clean!!!
those snares are so dirt, they didnt play a single clean note
Their snares were so dirty
BigScurt46 Yeah, I'm pretty sure they just put all the best people on quads.
DarthYutsi Yeah, they broke drumline rule number one: Split your best players between the different instruments on the line so that all of the sections are tight. Still, much respect for them.
Are u fuckin deaf!!
Anyone notice the coats changed lighting from different views
Ethan Kelly it's camera quality, I'm not saying you didn't know. I was just adding on
CostFrost and the postition of lights on the feild
VastHockey The gamer the lights wouldn't change it that much, I can see the opposite side of their jacket on both switches, light is perceived so differently based on the position of the viewer. One is crimson the other is vibrant red.
That was probably the best Jig 2 I've ever heard!(especially the first tenor)👏🏻👏🏻
Then get your ears checked and listen again. You will hear all the slip ups.
And the secons tenor solo was ass.
@@Handleoriginal12 At least we were the ones that invented jig 2, also, even after listening again, I heard no mess-ups. How about you get your ears checked?
as a drummer in general it is an honor and privilege to be in the drumline😂🙏🏼
im in the low brass (euph) but i FUCKING LOVE PERCUSSION
euph nation
McSavage TROMBOME NATION!
Penelope Jenkins yeah same but I'm a saxophone
Penelope Jenkins I'm in percussion but I love brass.
Penelope Jenkins I'm in woodwind and I play clarinet 🎼🎺🎻🎸
I was at the Lake Martin Invitational (I'm in Southside Percussion) and I swear Oak Mountain got every award.
Shaun Davis We probably did. Everyone else had wonderful performances.
My music teacher played this in class today and I could listen to this all day
Thanks for watching!
I've been in drum line for 2 years and we've done this song 5 times and let me tell you it's one of the best songs you can play
Bruh what was that bass drum thing tho🤔
Lyla Laycre ik it was trash
Lyla Laycre ok
it was pretty bad but bass splits are pretty hard, especially when it’s meant to be played on tenors/quads
Whenever no one is paying attention to the football game but only marching band😂😂😂😂😂
The band has about 200 in total with 160-170 musicians and 30-40 visuals.
Roll Tide!! Good Luck Guys!!!
Rich Kane war Eagle
Brooooo my drum line (in my marching band, I’m a brass) just played this today and ughhhhhh it’s so sick! I love the slowing part like ahhhh yes

Omg that last bass split was spot on!! I miss marching band soooo much. That was such a treat
Jim Beaux thanks for watching!
Man I miss being in the stands on Friday nights
It’s so fleeting isn’t it? We only have a few weeks left this year. :(
AWESOME DRUM PLAYING
Rie Eil WHAT
the first person to have that solo actually came to my high school to help us with our show music during band camp and we truly want him back.
Nice! Was that David Allain? Thanks for watching!

Laila Volan then how did he make first base
Lance Dyer at least hes not 2. 2 has the meat of the difficulty in this song.
That’s the face you make when your team doesn’t win no games lmao
No wonder the Alabama bands are so great, with High Schools like this.

*drum line starts doing jig*
*matching band proceeding to get hype*
Students:what the hell is happening
tatumGtatumG our students love Jig 2. Often we hear opposing bands playing it across the field. Even the parents and crowd get into it now. Thanks for watching!
