Could you share a link identifying solar barn lights by name and where you purchased them? Thought you mentioned Amazon but couldn’t find them there. Thx
If you have a greenhouse, build a guinea coop that is attached to it and let the greenhouse be there run. They will eat any bugs or pests around, but won't touch the plants.

hi and thank you for your videos. We live in Oklahoma and in September 2 Guinea Fowl showed up in our backyard, fenced in about an acre. We watched them run around and just found them so interesting. We noticed they would come up and get water from the dog's bowl on our porch. So after about a week we got a bowl and sat on the edge of the porch and they started using it. We had no idea where they went at night, but they came back everyday. After about a month we saw their droppings over on the side of the house under the 2-pole chain link fence. They would roost their every night. We thought it would be good to put some food out and see if they would eat and they liked the wild game crumbles we got. So now 2 months later, every morning they come to the porch get fresh water and we come out most of the time they out in the yard chasing the bugs and when we sit down the little round feeder they come running up and eat for a minute or two get a drink and head out on the daily journey. haha we still have no idea where they go during the day. One thing has changed, they now roost up in the tree about 25 feet on the oak tree in a about that same fence. When ever I go out they come running up to me and follow me around the yard while I do stuff. We believe the taller leg one is a male and the shorter legged one is a female. He seems to find bugs and call her and she runs and gets it. We have found 2 eggs so far, up against the house in the flower beds, one on the east side and the other on the west side. Both times it looks like the coons found them first. Yes, we have 3 coons that make their visit every evening. Wife is afraid for them when the snow comes. We don't have anything at the moment that would even work for shelter. We need to do something I guess. Oh, 4 nights ago I was woke up by the male yelling his head off so I got up like 2 in the morning and went out and on the porch was the female looking lost and the I found the male in a Dogwood tree about 30 feet from the regular roost. We think maybe an owl might have scared them off their roost, just a guess. I sat with her outside for a minute not sure what to do and then he gave out his warning call and she ran back over next to my leg and squatted down there and stayed for about 2 or 3 minutes. I had never tried to touch either of them, but she didn't care. I actually picked her up by her sides and sitting in the chair she sat for a second then crawled up by arm to my shoulder and then around my neck and stayed there still I got up then she jump to the porch but stayed with me. She was scared I guess. To be honest, I really didn't know what to do so I finally just went inside and went to bed and hoped she would find him or he would find her. Next morning, no birds anywhere all day long. Needless to say we were a bit worried. 15 minutes or so after the sun set we heard the flapping and here they came running across the yard to get their water and a few pecks of food and they at that special time they just turn, every night, and run around the corner and up on the fence and then up into the tree. Just like clock work. They are the most amazing and fun things I have every been around. Now, just what to do about shelter I guess. Any thoughts would be appreciate. Thanks, Rick

Depends where you live. We're in northern CA, never super cold, rare snow. My neighbor had some guineas, they moved over when she moved. The male survived years living in a tree. Every so often a female would show up, but not last long. 😞 I guess the males protect the females. He'd eat, drink, whatever we had out for our hens. He's been gone probably 3yrs now. My kid just bought 4 keets yesterday from TSC, our first ones. We'll see how it goes. We're going to raise them with the other fowl. I don't know if we'll clip their wings. We leave food out for feral cats, raccoons, skunks, opossums, will come eat too. They leave our fowl alone. Nice to know they can be friendly, even if just when scared.
I raise all my birds together, turkey poultes need chickens to help train to get food and water. But yes, Guinea fowl get stuck in their ways. My first guineas came to me as adults and it took them forever to learn more home was, I lost a couple pair to the wilderness.

I have been considering purchasing Ginny file as we live in the middle of 6 acres and the grasshoppers can be unbelievable at the end of the year! You mentioned that you got yours at tractor supply that you ordered them I called them and they said that they don’t have any file so I guess I’ll call them again thanks so much for this video
Try googling too and see if there are any other hatcheries in the area
My daughter bought 15 of them back in the spring at our local farmers coop. Sadly something has caught all but two leaving no sign of them.

Hello! We actually just added them into our Chicken Coop so they live with our chicken which is great because they have learned to protect the chicken from predators

How do you separate the chicken feed with the guinea fowl feed?
I never taught mine much, I just put them together with my chicken and they just followed them
Agreed the chicken and Guinea fowl do get along pretty well
i'm still debating getting guinea's. i think the noise might drive me crazy. i'm used to the chickens noise.
Honestly you will get used to them and there are so fun!
They really good at control
Mine are incredibly noisy and I have big land. So if you're noise sensitive don't do it. 5 Guineas are as noisy as 30 chickens and 10 turkeys.
At what age do you start trimming their wings?
Once they are adults
