    Couple questions/comments!
    1.I love the jade plant in some of your shots! 😍
    2. Great information presented here. My family just moved onto a large (wooded) property in southern MO, with other houses/large animals on it. If I were to keep my own guineas (for eggs and tick control), and follow your methods of containing them and slowly giving freedom, they would come back to the coop every night?
    3. Can they be kept in the same coop as chickens with proper high and low roosting spots for each type of bird?
    4. How do they do with dogs? That is the animal my potential birds would come in contact with first… as I have a house dog that sticks with me while in the garden. She has been trained to leave other animals alone.
    5. Do they dig up gardens and flower beds? I already plan to safeguard my garden against deer if they become a problem, but I’m curious how the guineas are with seedlings etc.
    6. I read that they eat snakes as well as keep them away (bc they alert when they see predators)… have you noticed that? We have plenty of venomous and non-venomous snakes here, and it is certainly a concern of mine!
    Thank you!! I subscribed and am eager to learn more. 💜

      Hello, all great questions!
      - We have had great success with training our Guinea Fowl so you might be able to as well!
      -We have 2 dogs and there have been no issues. Our dogs are trained to not chase or attack them though!
      - We have not had issues with them in our garden!
      - We haven't had issues with snakes so it is hard to say but Guineas are great for scaribg away predators.
      Best of luck!!

    What do you feed them as far as bagged food? I've been looking all over for an organic, soy free food for game birds and can't find anything!!

    I live in North Central Pennsylvania. How can I keep guinea fowl, in the winter, in an unheated coop? Is that posdir?

    • @splitarrowfarm
      @splitarrowfarm  11 месяцев назад

      We keep ours in the winter with the deep liter method. No heaters in our barn and we are also in the northeast!

    What about if I get them little bigger I got them at 8 weeks old you think they would still astayed if let them out free ?

    • @splitarrowfarm
      @splitarrowfarm  Год назад +1

      I would try keeping them consolidated for 10 weeks still and then let them out just to be safe. If you have a large plot of land then you might be better off but they are big time wanders

      @@splitarrowfarm yes I do have 100 acres of land so I am very nervous of letting them out when it’s time I have About 12 of them , and I’ll be perfect they’ll be in the coop whole winter long
