Pat's $500,000 question was extremely difficult. I would've walked away on that question if that was me. Mythology has always been a struggle for me. I'm glad she got it.
It's too bad Pat didn't go for the million. However, It's very understandable why she didn't. You have to be 100 percent confident with your answer before even thinking about making that kind of gamble. And $500,000 is life-changing money. Great run Pat!
@andygray1762 Why on earth would you read the comments before watching the video if you’re concerned about spoilers?? Then why the HELL would you blame commenters for that??? Talk about entitlement.
The Portuguese winner who said by Regis Philbin who won 50 million Escudos is Renata Morgado, the first woman to won top prize in all version of Millionaire.
The million dollar question was tricky and it tricked her because she would’ve won a million bucks. Ouch!! But still, $500,000 is good enough for a smart lady like Pat Thompson. Congrats, Pat and don’t worry. I would’ve guessed 1970 to be honest with you!! 👍
I like how in the $16,000 question she didn't whisper her thoughts aloud about the possible choices and just burned a 50/50 to see what the "computer randomly" takes out lol. Then it registered to her quick that it was Tom Cruise lol. Can't always trust what the "computer randomly" eliminates, could be fixed ya know!!
and would have been the first million dollar female winner ever in the history of the US Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, followed by of course Nancy Christy, who is the first and only woman to win that much money on the American game show Millionaire up to date.
When pat used the 50:50 on the dracula question ❓ I'm very surprised that the game reduced her choices to Tom cruise from rainman Jerry Maguire and the mission impossible movie franchise and Gary oldman from the dark knight and the Harry Potter movie franchise starting with prisoner of Azkaban
If the total world population at that time was 8 billion, then the question is asking what year in the past was the population half that amount, or 4 billion.
16:40 Regis was supposed to say "Third woman to win $500,000" not second because Rosie O'Donnell (from celebrity week) was the second $500,000 female winner
I wonder if anybody ever won this show who used a Lifeline before 32k? I remember I watched the show a lot and you could almost always predict that if somebody used a Lifeline before then they weren't even going to make it within a few questions of a million. She surprised me because she went on a serious roll. And it seems she got lucky where she had just recently read some of the answers. Even the smartest people on the show need to get lucky and have some questions that they know the answer to later in the game
Joe Trela and Nancy Christie both used all their lifelines on the first ten questions. They both got the final five questions right with no lifelines and won the million.
250,000-500,000.. the intimidating music of desperation never gets old!
Pat's $500,000 question was extremely difficult. I would've walked away on that question if that was me. Mythology has always been a struggle for me.

Pat Thompson is awesome 😀
She's really smart too.
She’s also my second favorite female half a millionaire contestant behind Stephanie Girardi.
It was nice to see someone play senceabaly. She didn't strike me as the greedy type .😊

Yeah, she could've dropped down to $32,000 if it was the wrong answer even if it would've been right.
Cheers for spoiling it
🖕 for spoiling that.
@@joewas2225 Well guess what, too bad. There's spoiling everywhere here. Get over it.
@andygray1762 Why on earth would you read the comments before watching the video if you’re concerned about spoilers?? Then why the HELL would you blame commenters for that??? Talk about entitlement.
@20:25 lol the audience’s reaction; pretty sure this isn’t the first time they reacted that loud 😜
Happened to Mary Burke too. Walked away but guessed the right answer to her million dollar question.
@@zottffss I think Mary Burke was way more confident than Pat.
To be honest with you, I would’ve guessed 1970 and true I would’ve been wrong 😂

For that particular Million Dollar Question I would have gone with either 1960 or 1950.
for the population question, I was thinking 50 or 60. The baby boom was 46-64.
I had it between 1950 and 1960.
What a fun funny girl. Loved the way she said "Yeah".
Very nice job
She run just few days after Kate Heusser won £500,000 in UK version of Millionaire.

Should’ve went for it instead of checking out and then getting caught with your pants down
As far as I remember, if she had gone for it on 1960, she would have won the $1 Million.
and would have been the first million dollar female winner ever in the history of the US Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, followed by of course Nancy Christy, who is the first and only woman to win that much money on the American game show Millionaire up to date.
Yes. Her guess is even in the video.
Just saw this on GSN!

shes cool
Shes the second woman to win a half million dollars
16:43 OH YEAH
I don't understand what that United Nations question meant when it said "half of it's present population total?" What do they mean by that?
If the total world population at that time was 8 billion, then the question is asking what year in the past was the population half that amount, or 4 billion.
16:40 Regis was supposed to say "Third woman to win $500,000" not second because Rosie O'Donnell (from celebrity week) was the second $500,000 female winner
Celebrities don't count. They get practically handed the first $32,000 and aren't playing by the same rules as regular contestants.
Regis said it right. It’s “uh-gra” not A-gra like viagra lol
The $32,000 question was so easy, everyone knows where the taj mahal is located, it's such a famous monument
snowisawesome snowisawesome This was back when the game didn’t really begin until $64k...
Not really. We know it's Indian, but not the exact city

Which runs do you have on your coming attractions?
She could have been the first female millionaire on the show!
I wonder why they did years in the 10s for that million dollar question.
This woman is a perfect example of the dumbing down of
America
your comments are the dumbing down of America and predictable
Ken Krantz, mike menz, tim shields (original) and Joe Kelleher in your coming attractions
20:23 PAT THOMPSON COULDVE BEEN RIGHT FOR 1 MILLION
